Wh is there to do in Michigan City, Indiana? -

My cousin and some of my family live in Michigan and I live in Illinois and we figured Michigan City, Indiana to be in-between where we all live at. We want to meet up for a day and get together and do something. But we have no idea what, if anything, there is to do in Michigan City, IN ?Anything?

-The Lighthouse outlet mall has some great shopping.-The Blue Chip Casino is not only good for gambling but there are some good restaurants, bars and live entertainment there.-There is the Washington Park Zoo (now closed for the winter).-The Dunes National Lakeshore is not far. There are tons of trails for walking, running and biking including Mt.Baldy (sand dune) which is about 123 feet tall and very scenic.

I Grew up in Michigan city. MC is good in the summer. great beach, dunes, boating and fishing. The winter season there is not a lot. You have the Blue Chip casino and outlet mall

Various things to do in Michigan City. There is more to do in the warmer weather such as Washington Park - the city beach park and zoo on Lake Michigan. However the park is still a perfect place to drive through as they will have one of the largest displays of Christmas lights around! Practically the entire park will be filled with them. The International Friendship gardens on US 12 is a renowned place - I ll admit I ve not been to them but they used to be popular.Lighthouse Place Outlet Mall is very popular for shopping. If you don t like the indoors there is Lighthouse Mall at US 421 and US 20 - typical mall but sometimes they have special exhibits and antique shows. They also have Applebee s and a Chinese Buffet place.Blue Chip Casino just added a 26-story hotel, somewhat out of place but interesting facility. I m not a gambler but they do have a good buffet place and Italian restaurant, maybe even more variety now.The Barker Mansion is a very nice historical house and museum on Washington Street.Mount Baldy to the west is the eastern edge of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, great place to go hiking and get some great views - even of Chicago if skies are clear enough.Restaurants - Swingbelly s in an old train depot near the lake is a good casual place. Maxine and Heiney s downtown is higher end and very good. Matey s is a great bar but watch the bill - they like to slap on sharing charges and once tried to charge a coworker for Cheese on his cheseburger. Galveston Steak House is very good. Hacienda is a popular Mexican Restaurant west of town toward Long Beach - it is good. My favorite Mexican Place is El Bracero on US 421 just south of US 20 - authentic Mex. Rodini s is a very good restaurant. older place with a cool fireplace, might allow smoking though. Several chain places along US 421 north of I-94 including Chili s, Ryan s, Texas Road House, and Starbucks. north of US 20 on Franklin Holly s is a really good family pub that comes up with several unique creations food wise.

How to you go about moving to Cape Coral, FL? -

I have been planning on moving to Florida for some time and recently really started researching and looking for a job. I set a deadline for January 16th and found a catch twenty-two. In order to get a job I have to be a resident and in order to get an apartment I have to have a job there. There has to be some way around this, so that I can move there, but I am currently at a lose on how to do this! Thanks in advance.

Well, if you don t already have a distant relative that lives there and if you re not going down there with a huge wad of cash, maybe consider finding a room to rent for a while until you can get work, save a bit, and then select a good area to move.

Is Santa Monica College a 2 year college? -

is Santa Monica College hard to get into also is the Los Angeles City College also a 2 year college? and does anyone know which one is better?

yeah, they are both two-year community colleges. without a doubt in my mind, i think that smc is a much better school. especially if you have plans to transfer. they have classes specifically created that match ucla courses. basically, if you get decent grades at smc, you have an excellent chance of getting into ucla, usc, pepperdine, or loyola.

If you re 18 or a high school grad, you re in. If you ve been to college before, you need to look at the exact requirements for entrance to a community college. SMC is probably slightly better than LACC, but not if you re interested in film or acting, then LACC is the clear choice. http://lacitycollege.edu/academic/depart And PCC (Pasadena City College) is probably better than both of them, especially for digital film making. http://www.jrswain.com/ http://www.pasadena.edu/divisions/visualBut you know what? It really doesn t matter, it depends on what classes you need, because they do differ a bit, and which is closest to you, so you ll actually show up and if one CC has an articulation agreement with a college you re interested in that another doesn t. I ve seen the actual study on which CA community colleges have the highest rates for getting into the UCs and the numbers are so close, it is really up to the student. The CA community colleges have programs to guarantee you entrance into some of the UCs, CSU s and priority consideration to UCLA. Also, for some private schools such as USC, Occidental, etc. Look at the Transfer Center page at each CC s website for info on the programs. Here is info on the UCLA program:http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/Prospect/Good luck!

Yes, both are two-year community colleges. I don t know which one is better. I think it mostly would depend on which program you are interested in.http://www.smc.edu/homex.asp?Q=Homepagehttp://www.lacitycollege.edu/

Yes. Or longer if you choose to stay longer.
