A friend and I, (18+19 yrs) live in CA and want to work at a nice family resort in LA for the summer, help? -

Jobs to consider are:- lifeguard- children s counsellor- running kid programs- anything simple, but fun....know any names of hotels that we could apply to?and we would also like to have accommodations at the hotel if possible... any suggestions?

The days of getting accomodations at the hotel where you work are LONG GONE. Hotels no longer house their employees. If you want to do that, try a summer camp or working at Yosemite.

better get your applications in now to various outfits you think you want to work.. 17% + unemployment only means any position you think you might apply for. there will be 20 ~40 others.Just dont come here on a whim expecting to get cheap housing or a instant job in the fields you re posting, cus the chances are slim to none with none taking a slight edge.

Guys if you re looking hotels or resorts in CA,then here is the right site for you -- http://www.jrdresotel.blogspot.com/Just a click away and you ll see from there...thanks

Technique used Gateway Arch? -

How did they ensure the accuracy of the construction so the legs would meet at the top?

Here are some websites to help answer that question:http://www.nps.gov/jeff/planyourvisit/arhttp://www.gatewayarch.com/Arch/info/archttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis_Ahttp://www.gpb.org/gateway-arch-reflecti

It was more of a hit and miss project in regard to the construction. You can find all of the details in a book about the Gateway Arch that was published at Borders or Barnes and Nobel.

A very good architect and engineers who oversaw all the construction.

They started at the top and worked downward. The big problem was making sure both legs reached the ground.

Cruise around Alaska...how...when? -

Ok so my husband has always wanted to take a cruise around alaska. How do I find out prices? like is there a site I can look at prices?Would July/August be a good time to go?Thanks for your thoughts

yes you can google it and you will have some links that will tell you about the price to go to alaska. CHECK THIS OUT:http://www.alaskaair.com/

Don t think there ARE any cruises AROUND Alaska. There are cruises that go to Anchorage [actually Seward] from Vancouver or Seattle.Go to VacationsToGo.com [or any of the other usual travel websites] and put in Alaska as your destination. July and August are probably the best [warmest] times to cruise in Alaska, but also the busiest and most expensive. May and September are less-crowded and less-expensive. Be aware that unless you do a round-trip cruise - or back-to-back cruise - you will have the added, sometimes hefty, expense of non-round-trip flights. This is one time it might be a good idea to use cruise air.

take some acid and pretend you are on a cruise

How can two seventeen year old dudes spend their day in NYC? what are some possible activities? hookah? -

Hi!There are a TON of hookah places in NYC that will allow 17 year olds. (I m 16 and I ve been)Go there at night, but to spend the day I recommend you go visit St. Marks Place. This place is considered to be the punk rock mecca of the city.Went there yesterday, insanely awesome. They have a really rad store called Trash and Vaudeville (the Ramones and Blondie used to shop there) which has been there since the 70s. Even if you don t have the punk rock type of style, it s still a fun place to look around. You could go to Union Square, around 60th and 3rd (Urban Outfitters), or 5th ave? Also, you could go to a concert at a small venue like Roseland Ballroom..?VISIT DYLAN S CANDY BAR (there s one at 61st and 3rd)! biggest candy store in NY and if you want to go to Serendipity, they make the world s most famous frozen hot chocolates, although the wait can be long...

I think you should do something else. Go to 42nd street-- go to a comedy show(not expensive), go to ESPN Zone, the record store, the wax museum, Ripley s Believe it Or not, get some food, go to the Candy Store (seriouslyy, it s the candy WORLD), And all of those things are right on 42street, times square. There s a lot more i just can t think of the rest right now.

i just researched hookah, no idea whether you meant hooker. . . but now i am enlightened to what a hookah is. Roughly speaking it seems to me to just be a bong. So thank you for my daily enlightenment. :)

hookah is awesome, take the subway down to st mark s place. if you re going from penn you take the ACE down to 14th street, and take the L to 14 st. union sq and just walk from there, it s only a few blocks. enjoy:)

hmmm hookah :) hookah + 17 year-old dudes + me = :D hehehe :3

Do you mean a hookah or a hooker hookah. Either way, probably not too smart.

Im moving from Philly to the southeast (SC, GA or FL). How do I pick a moving company and not get scammed.? -

Thee are so many different fly by night moving companies and I need help on how to choose a moving company and not get scammed.

Here are a few tips that the moving company is not on the up and up:1. Many scammers prefer to give oral quotes over telephones and do not offer to enter into any contract in writing. 2. They are really not interested in inspecting the goods that are to be transported by visiting the premises and making an accurate estimate. 3. They quote prices that are ridiculously low and insist on deposits in cash. Several moving companies which have created online presence possess nothing more than a van and a logo. They paint the logo on to their van and quote for moving bids undercutting the competition.Get at least 3 quotes and if one of them is ridiculously low, throw it in the trash. Usually it is a good indication that they are going to scam you. Quotes should be be competitive. Ask friends for recommendations and going with the major carriers carriers is usually a safe bet. Remember the saying, You Get What You Pay For .

Don t use a fly-by-night company. Use one of the majors . Your phone book will have lots of them listed. You could also use Angie s List to see comments from past clients.

What east coast beach city is the best to live in? -

A friend of mine and I are looking at moving away from home (Cincinnati, OH) to the east coast. We have narrowed down the search to:Jacksonville and Wilmington, NC Charleston, Mt Pleasant and Myrtle Beach, SCBrunswick, GA, Jacksonville and Fernandina Beach FlWe will be 22-23 when we move, single, and college grads (A Speech Pathologist and a RN).. any suggestions as to where the best place would be for us to live?

move in FL

I DEFINITELY reccomend Jacksonville, FL!I have lived in many coastal beach cities, including Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC; But I like Jacksonville the most. I live here now and it is great! Much to do, a very big city, beautiful scenary and restaurants, activities, etc. by the beach (many not near the beach also), all different types of living environments, diverse, etc etc. i could go on and on but to sum it up Jacksonville, FL is the best choice!:]

I strongly recommend Jax Beach on the North side as it is cheaper. You can cross by ferry at Mayport and be anywhere You want to be. It is about 15 miles or so to downtown Jackonville but there is a lot to enjoy and do. I have lived there twice and loved it both times. THe first time, I stayed on Arlington Expressway and liked it fine but it was a little expensive. The North Side out by Blount Island was better.I loved to fish and lounge around close to where St. Johns river empties into the Atlantic. I can still see a bucket of steamed Cherry Stone Clams or Oysters and a pitcher of beer sitting on the table in front of me. Damnnnnn it was a good life!!!!Incidently, Ferdandina Beach is an excellant choice also!Second choice: Consider Savannah, Ga. with Wilmington or Tybee Island as your beach designation. These areas are laid back and enjoyable, not like around Miami, etc. The river walk in Savannah is great. particularly Spankys It happens at Spankys.

For an RN, you can t do better than Florida - most hospitals and clinics offer significant sign-on bonuses. Also, Jacksonville is a great place to live (albeit hot and muggy in summer.) Fernandina Beach is a fantastic suburb of Jacksonville, but could leave you with a lengthy commute depending on where you work.

To tell you the truth you would probably both have the best bets in Florida. Florida is God s waiting room . both of y all should easily find jobs in the healthcare field down there. Also the climate in nice too. Good Luck

How to get from Custom Hotel (Lincoln/Manchester) to Galen Center (USC) using public transportation? -

I could also get to LAX for free if it is easier to go to USC from LAX.

Yes, that information is correct about which bus routes to take. If you re like me you might want to see some maps and schedules. If you check the schedules you might be able to take the #115 from right Manchester and Lincoln, instead of taking the Santa Monica #3 to Manchester and Sepulveda first to catch the #115. This could save you time and trouble. For all maps, timetables, and a trip planner:http://www.metro.net/index.aspmap and schedule for line 81http://www.metro.net/riding_metro/bus_ovmap and schedule for line 115http://www.metro.net/riding_metro/bus_ovLine #3 Santa Monicahttp://www.bigbluebus.com/busroutes/schehttp://www.bigbluebus.com/busroutes/map/http://www.bigbluebus.com/busroutes/sche

you can take the 115 note this bus runs every hourto manchester and figeoura then change to line 81 which goes by USCcost will be $1.25 on each per busor you could take the Santa Monica #3 to Manchester and sepulvedathen transfer to 115 (from here the 115 runs every 15 -30 mins)to figeroua and manchesterhere you would have to pay $1.25 (that 75cents and 50 cents for a transfer to MTAbut you will still have pay another $1.25 on the 81

ATTENTION ARIZONA RESIDENTS? -

what are the temperatures like during late march around phoenix?

70-90 in the day. About 55 at night. It all depends on the pressure systems coming in off the Pacific Ocean. A big ridge of high pressure will push the temps towards 90. A low pressure trough will keep it around 70. It s great tanning weather. Here s the chart from the weather under ground.http://www.wunderground.com/NORMS/Displa
