What Boring States??? Which Ones? -

Why is it that people normally say that the midwest states are the boring states? they say that nebraska and iowa only have corn. they say that the rest only have scenery. why do they say this kind of bs when its not true? nebraska has omaha, home of the henry doorly zoo, the college world series, and several other attractions, iowa, home to the bontanical center, adventureland, plus its capital, des moines, is a beautiful city. now the midwestern states aren t any new york, california, or florida, they dont have the ocean, or all the night clubs, or event the upscale theaters, but why do people make judgements that the only thing these states are good for is corn. do u not notice that their are huge cities in the middle of the corn. i think people make assumptions that nebraska and iowa only use their land for corn because when people drive through these states they only see corn, because thats where these states put their farms, by the interstate. but seriously, why does everybody think these states r boring when they haven t even been there but for the little amount of time they spent driving through on the interstate????

Every state in the nation has something unique to offer. To say that any state is boring is a slap in the face to that state s residents. The farmers who grow corn in Nebraska and Iowa work hard to contribute to the nations supermarkets so the rest of the country can have food on the table. I have never been to those two states, but I am sure that I would find modern day growing techniques and the genetic research very far from boring. Also, I cannot believe that corn is all there is to offer there.

A State might not be Boring, just because it doesn t have: Amusement Parks, Huge Cities, Beaches, or Mountains. Whatever you want is what you want. People have different tastes, like me for Example, I grew up in North Pole, Alaska with Mountains, Pine Trees, and Lakes. I moved to Eminence, Missouri and am surrounded with Hills, Willow Trees, and Rivers, I hate it. But, that is cause I grew up with the Opposite. Somebody might not think something is necessarily Boring, just not what they are used to.

Portland, ME in mid Dec; What are sites to see amp; places to stay? -

I love historic things and love lighthouses. Is it possible to stay somewhere that is close to all the attractions so I don t have to rent a car? If so, what area is that? Or are all the attractions spread out and a car is needed? I m in my mid twenties looking for a quiet place to get away for the weekend. Thanks for the help!

Maine in December. That is a bad idea, I live in MA, which isn t as cold as Maine, and it gets very cold here. You should go to Maine in the summer instead

you will need a car as things are pretty spread out. i usually stay near the mall just because it is cheaper. i have never actually been to the mall.

What building has the really bright lights in st Louis by the gateway arch? -

Probably Lumiere Place Hotel and Casino...which is not too far from the Arch. It s along the Mississippi River and the whole thing is lit up in red and yellow and stuff.

lumiere place esp. with that big lit up billboard they have..... around the old courthouse all the lights underneath the arch that shine on it. i would say busch stadium, but it is a little further away from right by the arch.

Winter Trip to New York City (i got a couple ?s)? -

Myself, my mom, and my dad are going to New York for part of my Christmas present (on December 19 and 20). I m 14 (but I m tall and look older) and I love to be in fashion and dress fancy and grown up. So I was wondering in the winter if we are walking around all day what would be something i could wear (and i want to look good, even though it probably doesn t matter?) Also we are going to see a Broadway show (Wicked) so if we are going to see a matinee (afternoon show) show what is appropriate to wear (what if we see a night show?) Also how cold is is when you go ice skating? Another question you may not know, i think we are going to treat ourselves to Bobby Flay s restaurant so does anyone know how expensive it will be, is it good, what is the best attire to wear, do you have to have a reservation, and what time does everyone eat dinner. Is there anything I should definitely bring or shouldn t wear? (o yea and do you know what size ice skates they have as the biggest, my dad wears a 15 or 16 i think and i need him to go ice skating with me?!)THANKKKKKKSSSSSS SOOOO MUUUUCCCCHHHH!!!!! =D

It s probably going to be pretty cold so I wouldn t worry too much what you look like. Wear comfortable shoes because you ll be doing a lot of walking. A cute scarf and hat with your winter coat and a pair of flats would be fine. People really don t dress up for the theater much but you can wear a nice pair of pants or dark jeans with a blazer/jacket for a night show or if you go to Bobby Flay s. Which one are you thinking of going to? I would check out the restaurant s web sites to get an idea of prices. You will need a reservation especially for a Saturday night. I would call now actually. It s NYC so restaurants are always crowded. You might want to go around 7-8pm. Have fun!PS-Wicked is amazing---you ll love it.
