I m thinking of moving to Cali in a year or two. Do you know if ultrasound tech get paid well in Cali, and how much is the cost on living?
I m pretty sure if you have a stable job where you are right now, you ll make pretty good money here in California if you bring your resume and background information with very good feedback from your employees/boss/etc etc. As for the cost of living, remember that California is one of the wealthiest states out there. Apartments are pretty expensive, maybe $1000-3500 for rent a month. Homes that are put for lease are pretty flexible in the suburbs with negotiation when it comes to the payment of rent. Overall, plan on saving some money for expenses. Apartments are already kind of costly and on top of that you need to pay for the heater, (for the winter season) and an air conditioner is very convenient especially for the summer. It gets very dry and when you get home, the last thing you need is a dry and stuffy house.Clothes and food are very expensive and costly here, therefore, groceries are not a joy for most people. North California is typically a bit more expensive than Southern California so it all depends on where you plan on moving. Both sides of the state are very worthwhile. I don t have that much information to be based on, I have no idea if you re going by yourself or with a few more people. I don t know where you re planning on moving. But in the advice I gave above, I gave a pretty broad explanation that gives you an idea of the lifestyle in California. It s a beautiful state; every morning you wake up with a sunrise and you go back from work with a sunset. You won t regret it! if you move here! Hope I helped.
California has a very high cost of living and the housing market is in the tank (just like the job market). Schools are going down the drain too. California ranks in the lowest 10 states in standardized testing at public schools. Services are being cut and our Governor doesn t seem to care that there s not enough water in the Central Valley to grow the crops desperately needed for employment. I could go on and on but as a California native, I would advise you seriously consider the pluses and minuses of the move. It s not easy living her but there ARE some advantages. Think mountains and beach in the same day!
I live in California my mom is an ultrasound tech at a Scripps Hospital.I know she makes about $37 an hour and she works part time.Living expenses aren t cheap out here, but i m sure you sould find an affordable place.Hope this helps :]
Ultra-sound techs get good money. You have to make sure your credentials will transfer. Sometimes your college credits and certificates won t be valid in different states. California is wonky about accepting the education/credentials from other places.
Depends were in Cali: northern more quiet area or like LA/Beverly Hills (my uncle lives there and everyone s really rich)
