Can anyone recommend an area of any borough in new york in which to live? -

I m moving there in a month or so and have never been to the city.....live in the south presently. I m going to be looking for a job as a server and need a place not too extravagant in regard to money. I m pretty open. Anyone out there want to give recommendations? I m going up blind, but have been working in the restaurant business for a few years and have done well. Right now have no ties and would like to see what NY is like. Actually, any comments welcome. Thanks.

Brooklyn - WilliamsburgQueens - AstoriaBronx - Moshulu ParkwayMake sure you work in a Manhattan restaurant. Who knows you might be working side by side with a future movie star.

Apex, NC - Pros/Cons? Best neighborhoods/subdivisions? -

I am looking at places around the Research Triangle to live, particularly close to Raleigh and Apex seems to show up on a lot of the best places lists lately. What can you share about it? If $ were no object, what neighborhoods/subdivisions do you think most people would want to move to in or around Apex? What are the politics like?

Eh...Apex and Cary are just suburbs of Raleigh. There s really nothing worth mentioning about them. Cul-de-sacs, strip malls, and bland chain restaurants. That s really all they got.If moving to the Triangle area, you can do better by choosing one of the more interesting cities like Raleigh, Durham or Chapel Hill. They have much more to do and have more personality unlike those bland suburbs.

I moved to Apex from Long Island 7 years ago and I ve not looked back yet. Great schools, plenty to do, great weather, and, as you mentioned in your question, Apex has appeared on many Best Places to Live lists. In fact, I just wrote a blog about Cary, the town right next to Apex today! There are lots of good links on the blog to help you become more informed about the area. You can check it out here:http://activerain.com/blogsview/1362505/cary-north-carolina-ranked-safest-city-in-the-southeastern-united-states-As far as subdivisions/ neighborhoods, there are many to choose from based on your lifestyle. Feel free to contact me directly and I ll be happy to help you in your quest to move to The Peak of Good Living , Apex, North Carolina!

Is North Pole and North Pole, Alaska the same place? -

No. The geographical North Pole is in the Arctic Ocean, under the polar Ice Cap.North Pole, Alaska is a town outside of Fairbanks at least 1000 miles south of the geographical North Pole. They seem to have named their town this to make money off the Santa Clause story.

Haha I always wondered that. I always went to North Pole, Alaska as a kid and went to the Santas Workshop with the reindeer outside.

No. North Pole, Alaska is about 1700 miles from the real North Pole. The real North Pole is in the middle of the Arctic Ocean.

yes.
