Going to L.A. in Feb to see some TV tapings -- in what area of town would it be best to get a hotel room? -

My wife and I are going to Los Angeles for a few days in February to see some TV tapings and do some of the entertainment-industry-related touristy stuff. What would be a good / safe / affordable / convenient part of town to stay in? Burbank? Van Nuys? Universal City? Santa Monica? Other?

I suggest staying near West Hollywood because it s centrally located to all the entertainment type of stuff. When my friends/family come out, I usually recommend the Sunset Plaza Hotel on Sunset Blvd. If you re going to Universal Studios while you re here, the Sheraton Universal is very convenient and walking distance to City Walk which has great restaurants and shopping, so that would be another good option.

The Hyatt in west hollywood is a good one or the The Hilton in Universal City. theirs really no close place to everything because L.A is so spread out usually tv tapings take place in Culver City, Burbank, and Universal City. my best bet would be to stay in West Hollywood and i hope u rent a car! because u dont want to spend tons of money on taxi s and definitely don t take public transportation!

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

depends where the tapings occur. as far as the entertainment touristy stuff ... you will be greatly disappointed.

Definitely Universal City......

well i have to say travel to la then stay at the hiltond

My guess would be Burbank for convenience. Good luck with the affordable part.

What hotel chain is the best for a cheap price? -

I found Super 8 for $30 a night. Also have found Ramada for $40 a night. I m trying to figure out for Thanksgiving. I m not worried about the best looking hotel but I don t want trash either. Yes, I know you get what you pay for, I understand that too.

Super 8 is pretty good, the one by us is actually very nice and has a pool and hottub. Don t stay at Motel 6- I used to work for one and they are trashy trashy trashy. Ramadas are usually pretty nice.

My wife and I both like Super 8, Comfort Inn, Red Roof Inn...

How about Motel 6? we ll leave the light on fer ya.
