What are some awesome scary places in or near Orange County to visit late at night? -

Me and 3 other friends have a tradition of going out and getting spooked by haunted or just plain creepy places at night. We d prefer something legal, so no trespassing (unless it s too good to pass up :P ), and nowhere that people often die like Blackstar canyon. But anyways, you pitch the ideas and I ll worry about life and death and jail ;D

Nixon Library.

I am planning a trip with 4 other couples to Idaho Springs, Colorado.? -

We would like to enjoy the snow by skiing and going snowmobiling. But are there any other things we can do like shopping in the area. Also what other attractions are there near Idaho Springs that tourists would want to visit. We would like to stay within 1-2 hours driving distance of Idaho Springs

I would highly recommend Breckenridge!http://www.breckenridge.com/http://www.gobreck.com/I have been skiing all over the southwest and I would have to say that Breckenridge is in my top 4 along with Telluride, Colorado, Taos, NM and Alta, Utah. It is a really fun town with a lot to do, the skiing is superb, the lodging is great, and they have some really cool bars/restaurants.I think it s about a hour from Idaho Springs.

Probably got some good restaurants you can check out. Bars/ clubs or even certain other clubs haha

sorry i have nooo idea, ive never been there =[

Which city in the United States has the worst roads? -

Ok. So, I live in Louisiana and travel to many neighborhoods in New Orleans quite often. I have a hunch that New Orleans has the worst roads in the country and possibly the industrialized world. However, I would like to see if there are any cities that have worse road conditions than New Orleans. Now, before you nominate a city, go to Google maps and see what New Orleans looks like with the street view option. Keep in mind, Katrina didn t have much to do with the streets; mainly the buildings, landscaping and utility poles. All the pot holes, poor resurfacing, and bad sidewalks have been there for decades and are the result of horrible city governments. And be sure to only look at streets within the boundaries of New Orleans. All other towns outside of New Orleans belong to different Parishes and therefore are run by completely different Parish governments. (It s just like San Francisco is to the rest of the bay area.)

Sorry, but you are not correct about Katrina and the city sreets in New Orleans. Most of the streets in the flooded areas WERE damaged by being under water for a month, and many of them need to be completely rebuilt (especially in residential areas) because the water staurated the ground under the streets and destroyed the foundations. New Orleans also has additional problems with streets because the ground is soft. Streets in places with bedrock or firm ground last 30+ years after being completely rebuilt. In New Orleans it s about 20 years for a properly re-built street. However, you are correct about the horrible city governments . Three decades of Marion Barry- type administrations have infested City Hall, and are the root-cause of most of New Orleans problems. Among other things, that meant city contracts have gone to friends relatives of politicians with no real quality control for the work done. It s part of the incompetence of city government that is actually corruption. One practical effect is that rebuilt streets are defective from day-one.

I m not sure about particular cities, but I ve driven cross country several times and have to say that Louisiana in general has the worst roads I ve ever been on, mostly uneven and full of pot holes. Some of the roads were extremely narrow with no shoulder and large drop offs on the side, which was pretty scary.

I recently moved to Memphis and the roads here are terrible- so bad that I was tearing up my car and had to sale it and get an SUV. When I was telling this to the guy at the dealership (I HATED getting rid of my car) he told me he used to live in New Orleans and that the road here are no where near as bad as they are there. I can t even imagine!

Well I live somewhere in Canada and there are so many roads here that make me regret driving on them... . Too many potholes and stuff like that, and besides that, they aren t aesthetically pleasing either... there re cracks everywhere.

What is there to do on Maui, Hawaii? -

I am going to Maui later in December and wondered what there is to do on Maui.

The Maui Ocean Center, a wonderful aquarium. The Road to Hana, a drive where the trip itself is what it s all about. Hana itself is just a little town and not much to see, but the road is full of spectacular sights. Keep going a little beyond Hana and be sure not to miss O heo Gulch (a.k.a. Seven Sacred Pools)Watching the sun rise from the top of Haleakala (an extinct volcano)Bicycling down HaleakalaBeaches, beaches, and more beaches, great for swimming, snorkeling, or surfing (including body surfing and kite surfing)Sightseeing in Lahaina, a scenic old whaling town (also a great place for a luau). Don t miss the giant banyan tree. It takes up a whole city block.A whale watching cruise (sometimes combined with snorkeling). Winter is the season to see humpback whales. You may see a few from shore, but a cruise is likely to get you closer to them. They re amazing creatures.Snorkeling in Molokini Crater. It s an old volcanic crater off the southwest shore. One side of the cone collapsed, so it s crescent-shaped on the surface and boats can sail into it. It s sheltered from the waves and currents so it s a perfect place for calm and clear snorkeling or scuba diving.A sunset cruiseThe Iao Valley, another very scenic spot

Get up early and drive to the top of the volcano for the sunrise. The highest point you can drive anywhere. Swim with the turtles, lie on the beach, go scuba diving, Drive all the way around the island, meet girls (or boys) and go dancing, partying, .

Cruise around Alaska...how...when? -

Ok so my husband has always wanted to take a cruise around alaska. How do I find out prices? like is there a site I can look at prices?Would July/August be a good time to go?Thanks for your thoughts

yes you can google it and you will have some links that will tell you about the price to go to alaska. CHECK THIS OUT:http://www.alaskaair.com/

Don t think there ARE any cruises AROUND Alaska. There are cruises that go to Anchorage [actually Seward] from Vancouver or Seattle.Go to VacationsToGo.com [or any of the other usual travel websites] and put in Alaska as your destination. July and August are probably the best [warmest] times to cruise in Alaska, but also the busiest and most expensive. May and September are less-crowded and less-expensive. Be aware that unless you do a round-trip cruise - or back-to-back cruise - you will have the added, sometimes hefty, expense of non-round-trip flights. This is one time it might be a good idea to use cruise air.

take some acid and pretend you are on a cruise
