Anaheim Theme Parks for teens? -

We re going on a trip next week with the kids who are 13 and 18. What theme parks would you recommend in the Anaheim Area. I know thers Disneyland, Disney s California Adventure and some park called Knott s berry farm. We re looking for a little bit of thrill, family rides and maybe some shows. What parks would be best?

You found the only 3 in Orange County. The 2 parks at the Disneyland Resort are a lot of fun if you like Disney. They have something for everybody, including faster rides like Space Mountain, Star Tours (simulation ride), Indiana Jones Adventure (rockin and rollin ), Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain (water ride with a long drop). You also have family rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, and It s a Small World. On the California Adventure side, you have the Tower of Terror, Soarin Over California, California Screamin (roller coaster), Maliboomer which teens like. Disneyland and California Adventure also have VERY nice decorations for the holidays as well as great fireworks, parades, and shows. Hey, it s Disney. Be sure to catch the Aladdin show in California before they change it to another one next year. Knott s is really teen-centered, concentrating on faster rides which go fast, shake you up, and around, with a little theme in the theme park. Christmas decorations are OK. If you re not into rides, then the only thing better at Knott s is Mrs. Knott s chicken dinner. Of my 4 kids, we have survived 3 of them going through the teenage years. One of them really liked Knotts. The other two liked Disneyland Resort until they turned 18 or so, then thought they were too cool for that. Interestingly enough, the one who liked Knott s was working inside Disneyland last night (he s a sheet metal HVAC worker). LOL.Anyway, it s your call. If you drive 35 miles north, Universal Studios Hollywood is there, which is really cool if you like the whole idea of Hollywood and the movies. 70 miles north of Anaheim is Magic Mountain, which is nothing but thrill rides.LOTS of people coming into town from Ohio, Oregon, Alabama, and Texas, so bring your patience.

knotts berry farm would be great for those ages. especially if they love rides and the rides there arent toooo crazy nor toooooo babyish there great. and if you go you must watch there wild wild west show its great.i hope you have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!its in anaheim

The only theme parks in Anaheim is pretty much Disneyland, Knott s berry farm. There is a Adventure CIty.

Cape Coral versus Port St Lucie Florida 2010? -

For the past year my wife and I have been debating on moving to one of these area s due to real estate prices being so low but can t decide on which one and looking for opinions from those who are living in these area s or have experience with both. We are a white couple, mid 40 s, self employed, like the beaches, boating and warmer weather of South Florida. Pro s and con s of each?

Right now Port St Lucie is almost giving houses away. I have been there and it s a nice place, can t really answer about Cape Coral. The down side would be PSL is mostly seniors, and at 40 plus you may feel like you re in a nursing home community..which is true. It does have the beaches and boating, which we were also looking for. But even in our 50 s we found the area a little to old for us.Good Luck.
