Should I visit the Freedom Tunnel in NY? -

I ll be in NY in a few weeks and wanted to check out the freedom tunnel . I ve been to new york before and I ve already done all the signature tourist stuff so this time I d like to check out some memorable, unique spots. I am so intrigued by the tunnel and was determined to visit... so I suggested it to my friend (the person I m staying with while in the city) and she was excited until I told her we would go in through 125th. She says that s in harlem so it s too sketchy... =(I believe the tunnel stretches to 70something but I don t know if that s any safer .Have you wandered down there? would you recommend that I visit?

visiting the freedom tunnel is trespassing, you will be arrested by Amtrak police. If you think about it, getting cuffed is much better than what might happen if you did make it down to the tunnel; being run over by the train from Albany. The tunnel is part of an active railroad line, the Empire Connection, carrying over 30 trains daily.

In New York state.....What is the fine for....? -

a ticket for talking on your cell phone while driving? Are there any points put on your license? if so...how many?

State law says a maximum fine of $100. There are also mandatory surcharges and fees of $80, so it could end up costing as much as $180. There are no points assessed against your license.

if i remmeber correctly it was $100 --i was just home over thanksgiving and the local news was talking about it-- I m pretty sure you would get points since it s a moving violation

There is nothing against ur license, but its usually $100.
