Seattle or Chicago???????????? -

Ok, so I ve been going to school in California (Very close to home) Majoring in English, and two great job oppertunities have come up in both Seattle, and Chicago. They both pay almost exactly the same, and I d absolutley LOVE to get away from home (family situation is not good). I ve visited both, and loved them, but I don t know how they are for living. Just windering if you had an oppinion... Oh, and right now I m living in the Vegas suburbs, but I ve lived here, Boston, Miami, small town indiana and somwhere in kentucky.

I ve lived in both Chicago and Seattle, and currently live in Seattle. They are both great areas depending on your preferences for certain things.WEATHER - Chicago has 4 seasons and is FREEZING in the winter. Lots of snow, and I mean lots. Seattle gets snow for a few days each year, but it usually melts off in a few days at most. The weather is more temperate here so it never gets too cold or too hot. It rains from fall to spring - not nonstop but a lot. I actually prefer more moderate temperatures and hate shoveling snow so I like Seattle better from that standpoint. Most folks that like snow sports go to the mountains here for more snow. CITY LIFE - Chicago is better than Seattle for this. Seattle doesn t suck and does get performing arts and has museums, but the nightlife scene is kind of disappointing I would say. The museums are better in Chicago. The dining is more varied in Chicago. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES - Seattle wins hands down. We have ocean, mountains, rivers - there really isn t anything you can t do outdoor-sy wise in the NW. It is very green and beautiful here - was a real shocker for me when I moved here from Chicago. PACE OF LIFE - It is slower in Seattle. When I first moved here and was walking down the sidewalk, I was frustrated lol. People move slower here, it s more relaxed. Chicago is very hustle bustle compared to Seattle. Actually west coast in general is more laid back than Chicago. It s really one s preference, but the slower pace grew on me so it doesn t bother me like it did when I first moved here. The up side of that is folks also aren t as concerned with certain things like they were in Chicago. I rarely see a 3-piece suit and briefcases here like I saw everywhere in Chicago. It s more casual here.Congrats on the 2 job offers!

I recently have been to Chicago. I loved it so much, that it is one of my favorite city s. It has amazing food. When i went the weather was very nice. But it is known as the windy city.I have never been to Seattle. However it does rain most of the year. If you like that it should be a nice place for you to live. Both citys have suburbs that you can live in, or you can live in the city. Both of the citys are very beautiful. I like to think of Chicago as a cleaner version of New York City.

Seattle. I ve been through Chicago a time or two and now live in Seattle. You will also be close to home than if you were in Chicago. Seattle has a great University with lots of housing available close by. It s not too cold, not warm at all, unless you are in the sun. Seattle also has a great view of the mountains and the Pugent Sound. It s absolutely beautiful!

why are people saying chicago hands down ??? personally i and many others i met think that chicago gets boring after awhile--in seattle you can go to the coast or to the to the mountains PLUS the city of seattle itself is huge and has plenty to offer on its own...chicago sucks by compariosn but it completey depends on your interests---if the mountains, skiing, ocean, etc isnt your thing than maybe seattle isnt for you

If you re looking for friends, a great cultural life, fantastic restaurants .... Chicago winds hands down. (I live in Seattle and the Seattle Freeze is a major reality, and while people read more books here, any other kind of culture is pathetic, including music (of any genre) and especially art.

I m a long long long time seattle native. If you can handle dark skies, or if your job requires travel, Seattle is great. The people are laid back. It s a good dog city. You won t get mugged, usually. I really love my city. It is going to be super expensive, though... maybe more like Boston.I ve never lived in Chicago. If you are from Northern Cali you will feel at home here.

It all depends on what you are looking for in your life beyond the job. Both are different cities in many ways. If you like the big city life, then probably Chicago is your thing. If you are more into sea, wild life, tech, travelling to Japan, China, SE Asia? Seattle might be better.

Chicago.Hands down. Chicago is a beautiful exciting city with so much to do.Seattle is pretty, but there s not as much going on.

Personally I like Seattle a lot more. There s an ocean to visit a lot more interesting nature wildlife.

West Virginia and Appalachia? -

Can someone help me with this..serious answer only please..What was the impact of the industrial Revolution of the state of West Virginia especially transportation? and How did geography of this state determine the forms of transportation that evolved?

The railroads went where they had to in order to mine the coal. Geography determined where the lines went, like along the New River Gorge and along the banks of the Ohio. West Virginia had no other use to the rest of the USA than as a source of coal for most of its existence.

How do I get to Clairmont, NJ from Long Island, NY? -

Using a birth certificate as ID to get into Disneyland for free? -

my friends are going this saturday but i dont have anyone moneyso i decided to photoshop my birth s certificate and change the birthday upsince they only ask for a copy of the certificate it was easysoo i am wondering if they like look in some computer to check them out if they are legiti dont want to get in trouble im just double checking and if you guys tell me i will get caught i wont goplz help me

Presenting a false I.D. is committing fraud. If you are discovered at the least you will be refused admission, at the worse you will be arrested and prosecutedSo, as the famous line from the movie Dirty Harry goes: Ask yourself this question. Do ya feel lucky, punk? Well do ya?

Actually, they ask for a CERTIFIED copy of your birth certificate (one with the official stamp of the county you were born in) as an alternate to a government-issued photo ID. These stamps are often raised above the surface of the paper. From their website:Proper valid identification would be a Driver s License including a photo, Government-issued Photo ID, or a Government-issued Passport. If you are under age 18 and don t have any of the above mentioned ID, an original or a certified copy of a Birth Certificate is required. School IDs or children security IDs are not deemed government-issued photo IDs and will not be accepted.

Don t do that ! making fake birth certificate is a fraud in legit dcuments, and if you re caught, you will surely be arrested. You re young people and you won t like to go to prison for 5 years.check: http://www.replacementbirthcertificate.o andf you can get a replacement for your birth certif.

Disneyland doesn t have a computer that s linked to the social security system so no... you ll probably get in with that faked certificate.

If you get caught, you will so get busted!

Why doesnt Chicago have any Pride when it comes to Sports? -

Chicago is the greatest city in the universe. But when it comes to Sports we have no pride and no desire to win. The fans and the media are so soft and never pressure teams to win. This is the one and only area where I wish we were more Like New York. How many times have we heard athletes in the major sports say that playing in Chicago is like a vacation as there is no pressure. But on the East coast or anywhere else, especially New York there is so much pressure to win from the fans and the media who actually care that you must go 100% in those cities. I just do not understand why we care so little about our sports team here in Chicago with the wimpy media and wimpy fans? Is it just no pride or what?

you just noticed that now? I have lived here my whole life and was always very disappointed by the sports fans and media here. that is why I started finding other teams to root for as Chicago just does not push teams to win, we just do not care enough or have enough pride here like they do in other places like NY. The media here is all friendly and soft, in NY they take no prisoners. same with the fans. We are after all the city of Lovable Losers and we are afraid to lose that title

It could be because they call them The Cubbies Its warm and cuddly and lacks the pizazz of like Astros -Yankees- PiratesThe Bears - Better but not like Steelers - Raiders - but meaner than DolphinsYet they have cool uniforms. I was a Dodger fan when I lived in LA and when they played the Cubbies it always lacked something......dynamic personalities and that plain C logo.. snore.

2 words......chicago cubs
