How do i get from Manhattan Beach, CA to Oxnard, CA without a car? -

So I m going on a 2 week vacation to Manhattan beach with my best friend and planning on going up to Oxnard the first week (love the beach, embassy suites resort and the big outlet there). Any ideas of how to get there without a car? I have a license but it s European and I m 19.

Your European license is valid in the United States if the friends you are visiting would let you borrow a car, but you are too young to rent/hire a car. Most companies require you to be at least 23. and some 25.To travel from Manhattan Beach to Oxnard (sounds like someone clearing their throat) there is a Metrolink commuter train that operates from L.A. Union Station to Oxnard. You can view the schedules at www.metrolinktrains.com . Click on Schedules then click Ventura County Line . Remember this is a commuter train that only operates certain times, and days. The fare is $12.00 each way. The LAST train leaves each direction roughly 6:15 pm (1815 hours). The website for the bus schedules to get you from Manhattan Beach to Union Station is playing games with me today. One source is www.socaltraonport.org . Maybe you ll have better luck with it. Sorry I couldn t help with that one..

you might want to check carpertina or oxnard beaches since they would be closerto what you want to and amtrak even has a stop at Carpinteria matthann beach and oxnard are about 30 miles apartnow depending on what day and time you want to leaveLADOT has their line 438 which will take you from Mannhattan beach toLos Angeles, say to 7th and Figeroura take to 1st or Temple)and then board the D dash bus to Union stationthen you can take amtrak to oxnardnote the 438 only runs in the AM to los angeles

Get to LAX.. They have a bus that runs a few times a day to the Ventura Airport called: Ventura County Airporter. Also there is Roadrunner Shuttle that goes there. I don t know the Ventura County Airporter s phone number, but Roadrunner is: 1-800-247-7919 Both leave from LAX and you do not have to be on an airplane to ride on them.

Go to LAX and get the Flyaway Bus to Union Station. From there take the Metrolink, Ventura County Line.

Train plane bus sub way or u can rent a car if u dont have one

train or do some research on the buses

Blackstone River waterfall? -

I remember going to this large brick building on a fairly large river (I think its the Blackstone River), and right next to the building was a really loud waterfall. Its in either Blackstone MA or Woonsocket RI. If not, definitely one of the surrounding towns but im 99% sure it was one of those two towns. Im just trying to figure out where it is on a map, and OR pictures.

I think you are thinking about Pawtucket, RI. There are a series of old brick buildings along the banks of the Blackstone River, one of which is an old hydroelectric plant that was refurbished in the early 1980s. for use as the business office for Blackstone Valley Electric Company.

I know there is one in South Grafton on the Blackstone river, another in Worcester, Uxbridge also has one, not so sure about Northbridge. There are many old mill towns on the Blackstone River, all of them have man-made waterfalls in which the energy was used to power the mills which were almost entirely made of brick

Do you know if ultrasound tech get paid well in Hawaii, and how much is the cost on living?

Aloha - the medical field is a large employer in Hawaii so if living in HI is your goal, this is a good job to have to make your dream happen!Take a look online at job sites and specify you are interested in Honolulu to see how often they are hiring. I ve also included a link showing what a chief ultrasound technologist earns in hawaii

People in Detroit area? -

i just turned 18 and im wondering if there are any good strip clubs or titty bars in the detroit area. not just detroit but the suburban area of michigan would be even better. if anyone knows of any we can get into when we are 18 please post. thanks

If you really must go to such places, try Deja Vu in Ypsilanti. They don t serve booze, so the dancers can get completely naked. They may have other operations throughout the Detroit metro area.

Are you serious???? Topless bars are every where in Detroit all you have to do is look we have one of the highest ratios of entertainment bars(strip clubs) other than Portland and Houston....lol Sad really you can t purchase fresh fruits and veggies that are up to standards but you can get a lap dance....wtf

Because you are only 18, Deja Vu is the only option. All the other clubs require you to be 21.

Take the LIRR to Penn Station. From Penn Station, you can either walk to Times Square (about 8 blocks) or take the 1/2/3/A/C/E train uptown one stop to Times Square. Tips for Disney World this Christmas? -

I will be there Dec 27-30, yikes! But there s no other time we can go :(Do you have any tips, info or advice? Thanks!!

If this is your first time, it ll be tough. But here are tips, i go every year1. FAST PASS! 2. In Magic Kingdom, go to Fantasyland first-those are slow moving rides that get long lines by the end3. If you are attending the Very Merry Christmas Party, wait til the very end! The people leave around 11 and if you can handel staying up late, then stay till the very end4. See The Osbourne Lights! OMG They are amazing5. The World at epcot is Beautiful6. Don t eat lunch at prime lunch times! Those become prime ride times! 7. Leave the hotel bright and early8. Character breakfasts! that way while you re speedwalking from ride to ride you don t have to wait for characters9. The whole park is beautiful so bring a camera!10. Don t bring a giant bag of junk! Just bring an divers licence (they will card you, they cared my 60 year old uncle! He looks his age too!) a credit card or cash your room keys and any other necesites. You don t need the fifty two tissue packs a big wallet, fifty two pictures of your kids/other family, recipts from three years ago, granola bar wrappers, etc11. If you ve been to Disney World Before, you can stop to look at the hotels!12. If you re staying in the park, dont rent a car take the buses and monorails. It s incredibly annoying to park the car and walk back. Disney is a lot of walking so your feet will like the rest the public system gives you13. Wear comfy shoes! Like i said, its alot of walking!14. Have Fun! It s Disney!15. The resturant in Mexico has a ride inside and great food! even if you dont eat there, that s a place with no line and a decent ride. Its so beautiful16. www.allears.net has tons of other tips and resturant menus so you can leave for disney and know what to feed the kids, which they ll love and which you ll loveIt s really great have a great time!

It really isn t that bad, I just remeber to do these things1) If you want to sit down for meals without waiting and hour and a half then you need reservations-- for everything2)Get Fastpasses for the most popular stuff first, cause during the peak season Expedition Everest and Space Mountain and Rock n Rollercoaster can be out of passes by noon3)don t freak out if you have to do things a little slower-just enjoy surroundings and such4)Show up about an hour after the gates open. If you show up right when they open then you get stuck in a huge mass of people and it sets you up for a day of stress.5)If you are a first timer to Disney the use the Unofficial Guide to WDW, I swear on their touring plans during peak season

I am going from the 21st to the 27th! My family goes every year so I am pretty creditable :) I would say the best advice would be to utilize extra magic hours. These are hours that only resort guests can get into the park which makes it A LOT less crowded! Also If your looking for a great place to eat at Magic Kingdom there is a place called Liberty Tree Tavern that isexcellentt. You will also want to get fast passes for rides with long waits and while you are waiting for them to be in session, try finding a less crowded ride.Must see attractions: Tower of Terror,Haunted Mansion,Rock n Roller Coaster,Soarin, Mission Space ( although if you have motion sickness DO NOT RIDE!),Thunder Mountain Railroad,Space Mountain,Splash Mountain, Mount Everest (best rollercoaster in the park!), and many many others! What resort are you staying at? -Cameron

When is the next March on Washington? -

I heard there were tons of people there on 9/12/09 but will there be another one?

Yeah there is a rally planned for Aug. 28, 2010 at the Lincoln Memorial. This one will probably be just as big if not bigger than the 912 march. I think the Parks and Wildlife officials in DC estimated 700,000 people on 912.
