2010 New Year in Orlando Florida? -

I need help with finding fun things to do on New Years Eve in Orlando besides disney, for adults and kids (teenagers 13 and 15) plz help meeeeeeeee!!!

Outside of the theme parks, most of the New Years events will be more nightlife-oriented than anything else, so considering that you have kids I am not sure if this is what you are looking for. Even though you mentioned you want to stay away from Disney, I highly recommend Epcot, the park will be open until 1am and they have a special New Years Countdown beginning at 11:40 that concludes with one of the largest firework displays that you will ever see in your life, out of all the Disney parks Epcot is the most adult-oriented as they will have live DJ dance parties and serve alcohol but you are still within the safety of Disney. Just keep in mind that anywhere you go will be extremely crowded so patience will be a must. Have Fun!

These are some of the things that I would like to do while in Orlando, maybe these will give you some ideas:Indoor Skydiving- http://www.skyventureorlando.com/Hot Air Ballooning: http://www.trustedtours.com/store/Hot-Air-Balloon-Ride-of-Orlando-C214.aspx?PID=3454578Airboat Rides: http://www.bcairboats.com/index.shtmlPaintball: http://www.orlandopaintball.com/final.html

Visiting NYC (please see details!)? -

I am a native New Jersey girl and am going up to New York City for my first time (so excited!). I am to sleep over at a nearby hotel and then attend my nursing association on 34th street in the morning around noon (a business building located on 5th avenue is letting our group rent their auditorium for our meet-up). Thing is, I have never been to NY, let alone NYC. And I have NEVER slept over in a hotel anywhere outside of NJ. So I am beyond nervous. Mostly because I keep having these visions of walking to my hotel in the dark and getting mugged or something horrible (me and my overactive imagination). I need a nice, but affordable (I m a college student whose full time job is just barely off my tuition) hotel room for one night. Hopefully nearby the building where the association is to be so I don t have to take a cab. I will just walk and explore a bit. I have always wanted to shop in NYC and skate in the big ice skating rink. :)Any other tips/advice/things to do while I m there would be great!

We just got back from NYC about 3 months ago and I m definitely going back! We were there for 3 days, but I think 5 days should be enough. Get the 3+ day NewYorkPass, it will save you a lot of money! http://www.newyorkpass.com/ Also, buy your NYC T-shirt ( 5 for 10.99) at Times SQ.Around Empire State building, they have a lot of cheap NYc sounviers. Hotel wise, book early. We stayed in Chinatown (Hotel 91) but it s clean and fairly cheap- though you can heard the subway at night, it didn;t bother us. Becareful of big and cheap hotel, I heard it s not clean,, The last thing you want is to bring home some bed bugs.Broadway Show: If Wicked was too expensive ( it was for us), so we went to see Fuerza Bruta , we got a coupon online and pay half price =) so check online! .. Let put it this way, we will never forget this show.. we had a blast!http://www.broadwaybox.com/ ? for cheap shows! Ps. We finally watched Wicked In San Francisco, it was great!

How can you live in New Jersey, and never have been to New York?

Im moving from Philly to the southeast (SC, GA or FL). How do I pick a moving company and not get scammed.? -

Thee are so many different fly by night moving companies and I need help on how to choose a moving company and not get scammed.

Here are a few tips that the moving company is not on the up and up:1. Many scammers prefer to give oral quotes over telephones and do not offer to enter into any contract in writing. 2. They are really not interested in inspecting the goods that are to be transported by visiting the premises and making an accurate estimate. 3. They quote prices that are ridiculously low and insist on deposits in cash. Several moving companies which have created online presence possess nothing more than a van and a logo. They paint the logo on to their van and quote for moving bids undercutting the competition.Get at least 3 quotes and if one of them is ridiculously low, throw it in the trash. Usually it is a good indication that they are going to scam you. Quotes should be be competitive. Ask friends for recommendations and going with the major carriers carriers is usually a safe bet. Remember the saying, You Get What You Pay For .

Don t use a fly-by-night company. Use one of the majors . Your phone book will have lots of them listed. You could also use Angie s List to see comments from past clients.

Whats it like visiting New York? -

especially in december...

Winter seems to be the busiest time in New York City. It s when a lot of tourists flock here to visit, either families or the city itself. It s crowded, busy, loud, and the city is even more incapable of sleeping around December. However, Decembers in New York City are beautiful. They re cold and windy, yes -- so if you plan to visit, bring some warm clothes! -- but they re beautiful. At nighttime, the lights are on, and they re sometimes green and red to celebrate Christmas, and it s cool, and dark, and it s just beautiful. New York City is beautiful year round, but the city seems to be more beautiful in the winter. All the best ?

Do you have to dial the 10 digit phone number in Austin Texas? -

In the city I live in, you have to dial the full 10 digits locally every time you make a call. I m moving to Austin soon, and I m curious if you have to do that there.

no, not yet, unless you and/or your cell phone [is registered in another area code] are calling from outside the area codeie-within the area code all ten digits are not required yet

If you are calling from a phone using the Austin area code (512) to another phone using the 512 code, weather or not it is a land line or cellular, you only need to use the seven digits after the area code.

I don t have to call the full 10 digit number, but I do anyway, because it s programmed my phone that way.

Going on vacation to Disney World:D? -

Me, my brother, and my mom are heading off to Disney World from December 1 - 9 My mom said I could bring only ONE friend, I told a couple of my friends I would think about it, and now I dont know who to pick! Ya see. Marissa, my friend went to disney but when she went she threw up got sick, etc. Cora has never been before and I feel super bad, shes like my best friend but Marissa is too.!Please give me advice on who to bring why!??!

TAKE CORA!cuz she s never been before and everyone deserves to go at least once in their life and its always so awesome to see the look on a friend s face when they experience it all for the first time. plus you didn t specify why marissa got sick but if it was cuz she got sick going on rides then that will most likely happen again and that wouldn t be a fun experience for either of you and you would probably miss out on a lot of the fun rides. who ever you end up choosing don t feel guilty about leaving the other person behind.

First you should probably make sure both girls parents would be okay with them going. If one s parents are not, then you ll have to take the other one.I personally would not be able to choose if it was me; picking between best friends is tricky. I think I would choose randomly, with some kind of game or something. Like, maybe shuffle a deck of cards and have each friend pick one card, then whoever draws the highest card gets to go. At least that way you won t run the risk of hurting one friend s feelings by picking someone else over them.

Regardless of who you select one of them is going to be sad about it. However, choosing one over the other will end up in hurt feelings. So in order to avoid that from happening my suggestion is to draw a name out of a hat. It s that simple. Between us I hope Cora s name is drawn since she s never been to WDW before.

Bring Cora! Disney World is awesome! Everyone deserves to enjoy it. Plus, Marissa got sick last time she went. I wouldnt wanna take that risk

If both are good friends and you feel good with any of them, then take who never has been there before. Specially if you know the area and you can be her guide. And be sure to get a nice gift to the other.
