Where should we relocate? -

My mom and I want to move to another city. We like the warm temperature not humid or super HOT! We would like a city in the U.S with lots to do, but low crime. Cities with great schools(high school), we dislike harsh winters, a little snow is fine, but blizzards..no thanks. We live somewhere with harsh winters right now. A city with also good public transportation, and a major airport. We were thing of:Houston( everyone tells us its really nice, but we also have heard the humidity is awful! is it that bad, is it something we cant get use to, same with phoenix?? )Charlotte,NC ( is there lots to do there, how are the schools? would anyone recommend moving there? we have been there and it was pretty nice, but we also need opinions, and opinions do count)We were thinking of place in Virginia or Maryland but dont really know the cities there that well, any suggestions? How about Baton Rouge?

Charlotte is really nice to move to, but they have a little job issue right now.Your best bet employment-wise would be Raleigh if you want to live in North Carolina. Raleigh has the same climate as Charlotte. Winters aren t too harsh but we get a little snow each winter. Blizzards are rare here. Both Crime Pollution is low compared to most cities, great education system here, Lots of nice people(few snobs), Summers can get pretty hot but they aren t like Orlando hot or Houston hot. Richmond would be best in Virginia it s the Raleigh counterpart.Baltimore and Washington have lots of jobs but it s expensive, snobby residents, lots of traffic crime.Baton Rouge would be best in Louisiana. Like Raleigh it s the state capital, it is booming with employment and nice people living there.

Las Vegas - Mandalay Bay or Treasure Island? -

I have been checking package prices, and they are about the same right now price wise. Just can t decide on which one for Christmas.

either one is fine. how much. Golden Nugget had a flyer in the LV review jorunal and on 12/31 wants $150- a night. if you can do less, take it now. this is the crazy season out here.

The location of Treasure Island is much better, but Mandalay Bay is a nicer hotel. Also, TI charges a resort fee of $20 per day, which Mandalay does not. So add that to the nightly rate and see if they are still comparable. If so, I might be tempted to chose TI just for the location. It s a nice place, and I like staying in that area of the strip - lots of things going on. Mandalay is all the way at the very end, so it s not convenient to much else. But there is a free tram from Mandalay that stops at Luxor Excalibur, which gets you a bit closer to the action around MGM, Planet Hollywood, etc.I don t think you ll be disappointed with either place though.

Mandalay Bay by a huge margin. I stayed there December last year, and stayed at Treasure Island in December 2007.The only advantage to TI is you re closer to the center strip. The TI rooms totally suck in comparison to Mandalay Bay.Here are reviews I wrote of each property:http://hubpages.com/hub/Mandalay-Bay-Lashttp://hubpages.com/hub/Treasure-Island-

You better double check the prices .... TI will charge you an extra $20.00 per day resort fee and Mandalay Bay does not. That will make a difference in what you were quoted. Note that resort fees can not be paid in advance and have to be paid upon checking in. You might want to read this webpage about those fees.

Both hotels are fine but I prefer Mandalay Bay because of the great casino atmosphere and the nice rooms and suites. Before you book at one of these hotels make sure to check the latest promotion offers in order to get the best price. http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com is great for this.

Mandalay Bay has a better pool and is nicer but in the southern most location on the strip which can be inconvenient, as the tram is sometimes frogged up....TI is OK and much more convenient to everything....

Go to the mandalay bay because in my opinion it is better looking and there is an extra $20 fee that treasure island has so mandalay bay is the best choice

Mandalay Bay is a much better hotel. Big cleaner rooms, great service.http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas

Mandalay Bay is one of the better resorts on the Strip. I ve stayed there before and enjoyed it.

Both are exceptional places to stay, take the best deal and book it ASAP because prices are going up and up on airlines

Mandalay Bay

For those who live, or been to New York, what is it like? whats it like in Time Square? -

what s it like att the Statue Of Liberty? what are the best sights to go and see and do around there?

NY is unique to any other place..there is a lot going on, all different kinds of people and things to do and see. time square is time square...lots of neon lights and advertisements and people taking pictures. statue of liberty is pretty cool, it symbolizes a new beginning and a chance of a better life to people who came here from another country. visit the MET (metropolitan museum of art) and central park which is right down the block from the MET. depends what you re interested in when it comes to decideing what to do..but NY pretty much covers all interests so you just gotta research a lil bit. go into SOHO and NOHO it s a little quieter with lots of cute boutiques.

Times Square is full of tourists blocking up the sidewalks staring at all the huge electronic signs and tall buildings. These days it s a lot like a big shopping mall. There is too much to do and see in NYC to answer here try looking at this website: http://www.nyctourist.com/This site is better for more specific questions.

imagine every city you ve ever been in, souped up on steroids and spit polished, the put them all together and add lights...that s about it.I hated it. Too big, too loud, people are rude, too fast and waaaaaay too expensive.

You d love New York. So many things to do! I love it during the Holiday Season.

What are some must haves when you go on vacation yo flordia? -

clothes anything just a nice list..the person with the most and has helpful things gets 10pts..(ohh btw im staying with my friend at her uncles so i wont need to many things tht id need at like a hotel lol)

What these have said is not true. We re having cold temperature now, not New York City cold but colder than our common temperature. It actually depends where you are going because the temperature, climate, etc is different in north florida, central florida, and south florida. And the temperature in Miami/Miami-Dade County is different than every place in Florida. It s more fresh and the sun is not annoying like how it is in other places in South Florida. It s better in every way. One great thing though, is that you can always go to the beach and enjoy better than any place in the States. But even in our current cold days it s MANDATORY to wear something to keep warm because it s really refreshing and you actually enjoy it, but at night most to all people wear something like a sweater or something. So you can bring long jean pants, jean shorts, cargo shorts, long and short sleeve shirts, honestly anything. The only thing I wouldn t recommend is bringing any New York City type clothes wear because it doesn t get that cold lol. Enjoy your flight. And P.S. I recommend Miami over any place in Florida, it has the best everything.

Well here in the Sunshine State it rarely gets really cold. I live here and I can tell you the last time it was cold was last January. So basically just tops like tank tops, t-shirts, some nice tops. etc.I would wear shorts or skirts but do bring long pants because if it suddenly gets cold for one day you will regret it. Bring flip flops for the beach but be sure to bring athletic shoes because for those long walking days you will be grateful for them. Bring some cardigans or light jackets because at night it does sometimes get a little chilly. If you are planning to go to the beach then sunglasses are always helpful. Just bring comfortable clothes because you probably want to do the nature type things.Just make sure you bring some comfy clothes!Enjoy your trip!!!!!!!!

As far as clothing, we here in the Sunshine State, are very casual.Bring along your normal beach attire. Shorts or skirts, bring a light jacket.Flip Flops or sandals a must have, suntan lotion, Have fun do alot of nature things, we have alot to offer.

Always get air brushed shirts or rocks or anything like that.Go to restaurants.

Las Vegas Hotel for 2 days. Finding a cheap and convenient hotel? -

I m going to Las Vegas. This is the first time I come to Las Vegas.Do you know which hotel is the best ?Actually I m finding a cheap hotel. Can you suggest me a hotel that near the downtown, outlet?Which hotel did you stay when you come to Las Vegas?

Seriously right now they are all cheap. Average price on the Strip right now is $138 a night (and that means they were averaging in the Wynn, Caesars, Bellagio). Bellagio rooms are going for about 25% of the usual rate.As far as the best that s up to you. What do you plan to do? If you stay in the hotel you get discounts on the restaurants and shows that hotel offers. If you particularly want to go to a good club at night you want to be close to it. My favorites are Paris and NY-NY. Paris is fairly center strip. However next time I think I m gonna stay at Planet Hollywood b/c it s center as well and has a great Fat Tuesdays (which is my #1 destination on the strip). I have very few don t . I wouldn t do Circus Circus or Stratosphere. Not Sahara unless you are 70+ years old. Tropicana is too run down for me too. I don t like to stay at Mandalay Bay. The coconut smell is too strong and I never want to be at the furthest end. I ve had friends who enjoyed the Luxor. I want to stay at the MIrage of course but that s still out of budget.Off Strip, I actually stay at the Embassy Suites a lot. They have a shuttle to the strip and free breakfast every morning but for the first few trips it s definitely worth it to stay on the Strip. Don t stay downtown. Unless you have a sentimental attachment to it, just don t. I highly recommend the Embassy. Parking is easy and the free breakfast really makes up for a lot after a hard night in Vegas.

Stay at the Main Street station if downtown is what you want. The California is downtown as well and caters to Asian style gaming. All downtown properties are affordable. When I came to Vegas for the first time I stayed at an off strip local s casino called Fiesta Rancho. Now that I live here, I feel that I made a good choice since I m not into the constant crowds that overrun the strip. If you want to consider something that s dead smack in between the strip and downtown you should consider the Sahara hotel. It s a nice establishment, has the only $1 blackjack table in Las Vegas, Nascar cafe is inside and the movie Ocean s 11 was filmed there! Circus Circus is very affordable and on the strip. If you have small kids; they ll love the 24 hour circus and the Adventuredome amusement park located on the property. Adults will enjoy Slots-A-Fun which is also on Circus property! Have fun!

The nicest cheap hotel is Excalibur. I would actually avoid Circus Circus, Stratosphere, and Sahara. Imperial Palace is okay - it has a great location, but is pretty old and beat up. You can sometimes find good rates at Luxor, Flamingo, and Tropicana as well.If you want to stay downtown, the Golden Nugget is the nicest place.

I ve stayed at about a dozen different Las Vegas strip area hotels and for low price I can recommend Bally s http://hubpages.com/hub/Ballys-Las-Vegas and Luxor http://hubpages.com/hub/Luxor-Las-VegasMandalay Bay has been offering good rates lately http://hubpages.com/hub/Mandalay-Bay-Las and is way nicer than Bally s and Luxor.Bally s has the best location, right in the center of the strip. The outlet stores are about two miles south of Mandalay Bay on Las Vegas Blvd, whereas downtown is the other way, six miles north of Mandalay Bay. Downtown is kind of a gritty urban area which is completely different from the Disneyland atmosphere of the strip. If you ve been to the tourist strip in Reno (Virginia Ave.) that s what downtown Las Vegas is like.

The Golden Nugget. They have packages that include daily buffet, etc...You ll be able to stroll Fremont Street and check out the older Downtown area. Its close to the Outlet Mall near Charleston Blvd which is the one I think you are referring to. There is a low end outlet mall South Strip that is near Luxor, but all of the Premium shops are at the outlet near Charleston.I haven t stayed in the Stratosphere but I know their rooms are cheap and it is close to Fashion Show mall. Don t forget to see the shopping malls in Caesar s, Venetian, Planet Hollywood s Miracle Mile.Have Fun!

How to rent a car at better price during Christmas in Miami? for only 3 days? -

I m plan to stay in Miami for a week and I need to rent a car for 3 days. right now the rate is $100/dayis there any way to rent a car at much better price? thanks in advance!

i googled promo code for alamo and i got twenty percent off. try goodle coupon codes for the different car companies and always pick up at airport since it is cheapest there. Christmas is by no means a busy time in miami it picks up around 27 for the new year holiday which is very busy. good luck just look around

if you are a costco member, they do some really good rental car deals at costco.com I found Alamo to be the least expensive with their discount. You can make the reservation right online (I ve never paid over $30 a day and have rented out of ft lauderdale)The other option is Priceline. Name your own price, seriously it works! I went to LA near thanksgiving time and couldn t rent a car for less than $50 looking on my own. I got a mid size for $20 a day through priceline. Good luck!

Christmas is the absolute height of the season. You ll be lucky if they honor whatever reservation you do make.

I ll rent you my car for $ 150. I know this sounds crazy but I ll do it. I need the money. How many miles are you planning on driving?

Which city is better new york or la? -

I am a New Yorker who has never lived in LA, but the advantages of New York include the ability of non-drivers to get everywhere, especially important if you are elderly, young or physically handicapped.New York appeals to those who want to experience 4 seasons, including a glorious Fall and cherry blossoms in the Spring.New York is much lower in Crime.New York s food is world renowned.New York is less segregated by race, social class, religion and occupation than LA.No doubt a Los Angeles resident can chime in with the advantages of LA.

They re total opposites, so it s more a reflection of your personality than the city... but for me:I love the weather, the beaches, the laid-back attitude, and the youth of LA. The car culture sucks, but it s generally worth it.I love the infrastructure, culture, and history in New York - but I can t stand the vibe. Manhattanites are ungodly pretentious, Jeresy trash is unbearable. So I d say LA by a reasonable margin. But I d take Chicago, Boston, or San Francisco over LA in a heartbeat.

New York is all about money, status and culture. The cultural driver is Wall Street.Los Angeles is all about money, status and personal style. The cultural driver is Hollywood.

LA has Hollywood, beaches, and no snow. New York smells like gasoline.

New York, which is the famous for everything.Good luck

NY has better pizzaLA better salads

New York is better because it s got more cultures than la la is still amazing though

New York. Los Angeles is too polluted.

both are great in different ways..new york never sleeps and the food is great while la has hollywood

Depends on your personality and what you want to do there.

To be honest NY is much better. Except for the weather.

New Yorkkk!helllooo, Broadway! :D

new york!

NY

hands down...NYC!

nyc all the way!

Inbound International Arrival,ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)? -

hii was tracking a package and got this message Inbound International Arrival, November 15, 2009, 3:17 pm, ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)can anyone please explain what it means? oh and how long do you think the package will take to come if i ilive in California?thank you so much to whoever answers : )

The notation means the package is on a boat or plane coming into New York City on that specific date. Depending on the rate it was shipped at, the contents, and any customs or security concerns, it could be in California in a week to 3 months. The ISC is the International Service Center at JFK airpot, so it s probably coming in by air.You might want to consider which international shipping company you re using if you have no more info than this.
