Chances of getting into Northside Prep. in Chicago? -

Hello! Well, I am currently an eighth grader attempting to get into Northside Prep In Chicago, Il. I have a s in all my classes, a 4.33 grade average, and I scored a 99 in reading, and 93 in math on my isats. I have a stanine of 9 for each, even though the minimum for Northside is 5. My science teacher lives around the Kedzie area, and she told me not to be too hard on myself if I dont get in. She told me thousands of people apply, but only two hundred are accepted. My local igh school is TERRIBLE, so i am trying to ge tinto a selective enrollment school .So, what are my chances of getting in? How do they base their decision? PLEASE help me out, with these questions and other questions/answers related to this. Thanks! i am super nrervous and need help!

First of all it s great you got a 99 in reading, but they only count the reading comprehension part. Worst part is they don t even tell you. You have to do good on your entrance exam, especially the math portion. Which census tract are you located in 1,2,3,4? That helps determine on your acceptance. Be extremely careful though, missing 1percentile can ruin all your chances. This one person I know got 989 and was not accepted. I got 90 in reading comp. and 99 math, but I live in a lower census tract so that helps. You can find your census tract at selectiveenrollment.org if you haven t already. Other wise I d say you have a pretty good chance. Good Luck, hopefully we both can get in! I don t want to go to my neighborhood school wither. Mather...

you would have to do great on the selective enrollment test that is coming up soon, if you do good on that then you should get in. just so you know your current grades aren t looke at, they look at your 7th grade final grades. Good luck, and also, you can apply to four selective enrollment schools, i think you know that, walter payton is the hardest out of all to get into, then northside, then whitny young, so i hope you put whitney young as your second choice.

Where should I move to in NYC? -

I want to move to a town in the state of New York. Where I can raise a family and live in a nice house with out it costing a fortune. I want it to be safe and no more than a 40 min commute to the city.

If you are referring to commuting to a job in Manhattan, 40 minutes won t even get you out of the city unless you want to go to Jersey. A lot of people like it there, but I really don t.

you want a safe place to live in NYC? that doesnt cost a fortune? And big enough for a family? have you ever considered moving out of nyc? its really hard for that and you need a price range to get an idea of what may be too much. Because too much to you may be a little to someone else.

Given your perimeters, it s absolutely impossible. Anything even halfway safe is either going to be much more than 40 minutes away or will be expensive, e.g. $400K and up at least.

They r lots of places in NJ. I live in NJ. Good luck!

Try Suffolk county.

Anyone booked concert tickets through MGM Players Club? -

I got an offer from MGM Player Club for a free three night stay and buy one get one free tickets to a show. When I reserved the tickets I asked what section they were in and they told me the tickets would be in their VIP Block of tickets...anyone booked tickets through them before?? Know where the VIP Block is in the MGM Grand Garden Arena?

The VIP block of tickets at the MGM Grand Garden Arena are definitlely great seats. They are lower level seats. Everything you see in Yellow from this seating chart. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/seating-cYou didn t mention what show you are seeing but if your ticket is for KA, that is not at the Garden Arena but at the KA theatre and the VIP seats in that theatre is Section 102http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/show.php

Tell me about this drink from Teaism? -

This is just for people who live in the D.C. Area and go to the restaurant Teaism. I just got their drink Zhenzou Pearls which I found out is a bubble tea drink popular in China. I wanted to know how I can make this at home, and if anyone knows what kind of tea they use at Teaism to make this drink...All I know is that its fantastic LOL, and I tried asking at the restaurant what kind of tea it is, but none of the wait staff (mostly Hispanics) knew what kind it was. So...any clues? I know this is a long shot, but I got no where else to turn

Teaism sells most or all of the teas that they serve in the restaurant at the tea shop or at the dupont location in the store. I would check their tea menu or ask at the tea shop. I ve always found them very helpful.

What is are the best and worst American cities youve been too? -

Portland, ME. I miss my vacationland. Nagshead, NC love you too!Worst: Anywhere in Michigan.

Best:SeattleNew OrleansNashvilleWorst:HartfordFlintBuffalo

SEATTLE!!!!!!!! theres nothing better.worst- reno Report Abuse

Where have you been in Michigan? Apparently you ve never been to Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven, or anywhere in the U.P. Absolutely lovely places. The only really nasty places in Michigan are Detroit (and the suburbs) and Flint.Chicago is lovely. That s where I live now.I grew up in Michigan.

I agree with the person above, Grand Rapids is pretty neat. The worst for me is anywhere in New Jersey. Best is hard to choose since I haven t been everywhere but I really love Charleston, SC.

I loved Los Angeles so much I moved here. ha! The worst city I ve ever been to was Reno, Nevada. Honestly, I couldn t wait to get out of there.
