Can someone recommend some apartments in Sacramento, CA around UC Davis Med Center? -

The target location would be around UC Davis Med Center, but any quality recommendation would be appreciated. Ease of access to the hospital would also be a plus. Alternatively, a general location in Sacramento to research decent apartments would also be helpful.

With out more information, such as budget and lifestyle desires this is really a hard question to give a good answer too.Generally speaking UCD Med Center is not located in one of the more stellar neighborhoods in Sacramento. The campus its self is safe 24 hours a day, but get a couple of blocks away and things can get dicey.I live in one of the best apartment complexes in Sacramento, located on a major bus line that would be able to get you there in less than an hour, at a cost of $100.00 a month. If you can provide more specifics, either here on your question, or if you want shoot me an e-mail through my answers profile and I will be happy to give you a better answer.

What city does every state have? -

Every state has 1 city with the same name. I forgot which city name it was. Help me?

There isn t any city that is in every state.A Place Name in All Fifty StatesThe Most Common Place Name in AmericaBy Matt Rosenberg, About.com Guide I am often asked for the place name that occurs in each of the fifty states. Fortunately, it would appear that such an un-original toponym (place name) does not exist.Recreational linguist Dan Tilque did researched this topic, which was published in Word Ways in 2001. He utilized the US Geologic Survey s Geographic Names Information Service to discover that while Springfield is commonly thought of as the most prolific place name, the place name of Riverside can be found in all but four states (it does not exist in Hawaii, Alaska, Louisiana, and Oklahoma). The runner up was Centerville in 45 states, followed by Fairview (43 states), Franklin (42), Midway (40), Fairfield (39), Pleasant Valley (39), Troy (39), Liberty (38), and Union (38). Springfield isn t even in the top ten (only 35 states have a Springfield).Tilque concludes that there s no toponym in all fifty states. While Wikipedia provides a list claiming to include the most popular incorporated places, their list also includes Census Designated Places, which are not incorporated cities. Nonetheless, their list is interesting and shows the toponym of Greenville as a Census Defined Place or incorporated city in 34 different states. The runner-up for most popular place name on the Wikipedia list is Franklin (26 states), followed by Clinton (21), Madison (20), Clayton (19), and Marion and Salem (18). They claim that Springfield is found in 17 states. Thus, it would definitely appear that there simply is not a place name to be found in each of the fifty United States but Riverside is the most popular toponym across the fifty states.

I think it is Greenville, which appears in EVERY state in the United States of America, not just the continental U.S. There is a Springfield in 40 States.

Which park in Walt Disney World is the best for 2 adults and 3 children.. read on? -

The children are two 19 year old. A boy and a girl and the other is a 16 year old girl. In your opinion which is the best park for us. I am the 19 year old girl and my family is going to visit my grandparents for Christmas. One of the days that we are down there my grandfather has to have his specialized doctor come and work with him and my grandmother does not want us to be there because it is very stressful to watch. Anyways, what park would be the most fun for all of us? We have never been to Epcot or Hollywood Studio s, only Magic Kingdom and Universal.Thank you :)

This is a tough choice; it depends on your interests. We ve been to WDW 13 times. Our daughter is 17, so she is close to your ages. The Magic Kingdom seems to have the most for everyone, because there are different areas, with a variety of rides shows. If you re only going to do one park, I would recommend this one. Disney s Hollywood Studios has the 2 thrill rides; Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, plus the Toy Story Ride, which is fun. There are also some shows. Epcot has the Mission Space Ride, Soarin , Test Track. The countries are fun have attractions. The Animal Kingdom doesn t have as much to do. There is a lot of walking. Besides the animals there is Everest. The Lion King Show is spectacular the Nemo musical is nice too, but I don t think you want to spend a whole day there. Check out the Disney website, to see which park you think would best suit your interests. Plan as much as you can ahead of time, use Fastpasses (free), to save time. Have lots of fun! I wish your grandfather the best.

Hmmm. When I visited DisneyWorld 1 year ago, I personally thought that Epcot was the most fun. Visiting all the different lands and different rides was definitely one of the best experiences for me there. Hollywood Studios has a few cool rides, but a lot of it is just tours and little shows and a lot of walking. If your into movies and stuff, I would check out Hollywood Studios, but if you like fun rides and the different lands part, definitely check out Epcot :)

Well if you have all day then the Disney Studios are the best. They have a variety of rides from the Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster to Woody s Shootout and shows like Indiana Jones stunt show. If you are limited on time then the Animal Kingdom is good with thrill rides like Expedition Everest and of course the safari ride.

I think if your really into Disney stuff go to the Magic Kingdom. If not go to Hollywood Studios. It has the thrill rides of Disney. If like educational stuff/world culture stuff go to Epcot. If you really like animals go to Animal Kingdom, but there is not much do to there.

i would go to magic kingdom if you re going to disney world. i m twenty and i m going there in march, and i think it s fantastic. i think the other parks are kindof boring. or as long as your are in orlando, you could go to universal studios. it has rides which are more... age appropriate? if you re not into the whole fly around in dumbo thing, like i am. =)

All in all, I d vote for the Studios, although Epcot has Mission: Space, a great ride if you like to hurl.SeaWorld, by the way, has the hottest new roller coaster in Orlando.

If you onle have one day, I d go to the Magic Kingdom because that s what disney started out as. It also has the most rides.

Islands of Adventure

Truckee, California? Anyone been there? -

Does anyone know anything about this place. I ve been on some of their websites and it looks beautiful. I wanted to move somewhere along to border and try to work out of state. Is it expensive? How is the job market around the area, I can drive wherever. Would it be realistic for a middle class couple looking for a small apartment? Anything would be helpful.

I ve been there a few times. It s not too far from Lake Tahoe. The entire area is beautiful... Truckee itself is COLD! I mean... COLD!I live in Sacramento (about 90 minutes from Truckee), and I joke sometimes when someone asks me the weather, say something like: 60 in Sacramento, and minus 360 in Truckee . I don t know what s up with the weather patterns around there, but I m not kidding, it gets icy!It s a cute, quaint little tourist town, which means the job market is mostly service industry. In other words, you either OWN a small business, or work for one, for low wages. It s mostly restaurants, gift shops, trinket stores, etc. It s right on Highway 80, so it s pretty easy to get to, but not very close to anything, other than Tahoe Reno (two other places where the job market is pretty much the same... except you can work for Casino s on the Nevada side, of course... but who would want to?) And the housing is kinda overpriced for what you re really getting, because it s so close to Tahoe. It s not super close really, but it s not far.I d suggest actually visiting before making plans. Also, contact the Chamber of Commerce get info. You can get all the details - official statistics of what I m saying.Probably can get that on their website, actually.Feel free to ask me more questions.

I ve been through it a couple of times and waited out one blizzard there But that s the extent of my knowledge about the place.

Why is it so difficult to move to America? -

i have allways wanted to move to America (from the UK) After researching it, i have suddenly realised it is practically impossible! why is it so difficult to get a visa?

from experience I can tell you that the other answers are simplistic and although correct in theory are far from the actual situation, I have wondered for years how colombian drug lords, yardies and asian terrorists can get residence and citizenship but decent law abiding english people cannot even get considered, marriage doesn t work either any american citizen marrying a foreigner( so cutely called an alien ) is immediately viewed with suspicion by INS and homeland security, a rich friend from england recently did it all easily by employing a high priced immigration lawyer and it went through without a hitch but he had a lot of money so that seems to be the only way, we could do with more decent english people here as the country declines but not only are you excluded from the green card lottery you also need a visa for visits over 90 days, hardly what I would call a special relationship

Well it s not impossible, and it s not as hard as you may think it is. There s a whole lot of bureaucracy and paper work but it can be done so long as you re eligible to immigrate to the United States. There s several ways to immigrate to the U.S.1) Employer sponsored - Land a job in the U.S. and the company will sponsor you for a green card (permanent resident card). You can do this by either a) applying for a U.S. job (you ll need at least a bachelor s degree to be considered) or you can work for a U.S. company in the U.K. and move your way up and apply to one of their company job postings at one of their U.S. locations. This is the most common path for people from U.K., Canada, etc to immigrate to the U.S.2) Immigration via a family member - If you have any immediate relatives who are U.S. citizens, they can sponsor you for immigration. 3) Student visa (studying at a U.S. university/college) which can eventually lead to a green card if you can get access to permanent employment after study.4) Marriage to a U.S. citizen. Do consider that moving to the U.S. isn t easy nor is the U.S. as nice as it may seem in movies, so if you do decide to move to the U.S. make sure you definitely want to come here. Grass is always greener on the other side ...Hopefully this helps. Good luck.P.S. Ignore the first answer, it s clearly a troll. The U.S. was built by immigrants. =]

It is equally or even more difficult for an American to emigrate to the UK, and very difficult even just to get a UK residency visa when not seeking a job. This is the advice I post for people asking about moving to the USA from the UKCheck with US companies in the UK and UK companies with offices in the USA. For example, Hilton and Marriott hire international staff as interns.UK citizens can visit the USA for up to 90 days as a tourist, so you could travel for interviews tests if necessary.https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/withouhttp://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visSearch international exchange programs USA and there should be many links to programs that offer temporary and seasonal work in the US. Examples are: http://www.ccusa.com/country.aspxhttp://yummyjobs.com/Do carefully check any programs you might be interested in as not all of them are a good deal.Another option is to go to school in the USA. UK citizens can easily get a US student visa and you MAY be able to work on-campus. Having a USA university diploma or certificate will make applying for jobs easier, and going to school in the US will help you decide if you really want to move here.http://www.collegesintheusa.com/If you decide to go to university in the USA the first step is to identify several schools you might want to attend and make contact with their offices of international students For example:http://global.tulane.edu/oiss/http://oiss.uno.edu/Good luck!

British people can t go to the US via the green card system as its not available to us, so it is a lot tougher.
