From which airport (Newark, JFK) is easier to get to Manhattan? -

Using subway or bus, I don t want to pay cabs. Thanks

It would really depend on where in Manhattan you are going. If you are going to midtown / Penn Station area, then Newark is closer. You can take the train form the airport to Penn Station New York and it take a little less than 45 minutes. From JFK you can take the AirTrain to the subway, which of course gets you wherever you want to be in Manhattan. The ride to Penn Station is longer, but it is also cheaper, plus if you were going uptown this would take less time.If you were going to the World Trade Center, then Newark would be faster, as you would take the train downtown to Newark Penn Station, and then take a PATH train to WTC (this ride is 22 minutes, plus however long it takes to get to Newark Penn Station). An even better, secret way would be to take the free shuttle provided by the Hilton Newark Penn Station, which is connected to Penn Station, from the airport and then take the PATH train in - this will cost you a grand total of $1.75.

I prefer Newark, especially to get into Manhattan. You can pay $15 to take the Airlink which monorails you from the airport to Newark s Penn Station. Then you get on the PATH train.I think it s about $15 to take a bus directly into Manhattan. And I prefer the bus over the Monorail/PATH option because otherwise it meansMONORAIL/PATH option:Get luggageGet on monorailGet luggageGet on path trainGet luggage and struggle through Madison Square Garden/Penn Station, emerge onto street with more flying elbows.Whereas with the bus:Get luggageGet on busDescend onto city streets and flying elbows.I d rather just get my luggage once and deal with the crowds once. What would you rather do?

Newark. It s closer to Manhattan than JFK.It s 3 stops on NJ transit to Penn StationBy public transportation, Newark is about 45 minutes from terminal to Midtown ManhattanJFK is about an hour and a half from terminal to Midtown.

Newark.

Manhattan doesn t have an airport so you won t be able to fly into Manhattan whether it s from Newark or JFK.

JFK. To get to Manhattan from Newark you have to take the train and it only stops at Penn Station.

Newark

shuttle is $17 http://www.goairlinkshuttle.com/

JFK..

Is santa real !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? -

is he

of course Santa is real. I get a lump of coal from him every Christmas.. but in these days of high energy cost, Im not sure if thats a bad thing :-/I just wish he would clean up after the reindeer before he goes on his merry way.

Santa is defintitly real.. It is a proven fact. Your friends who dont believe in him wont get presents from Santa.. But because you do... You will get presents from him this year (: Ive actually caught Santa once! It was amazing! He is soooo nice! Believe your parents...

Saint Nicholas is based on a real person:http://www.stnicholascenter.org/Brix?pag

Real is such a subjective term....and in SoCal it s very very subjective......LOL

What an odd question for the Los Angeles TRAVEL section. He s as real as you want him to be.

Pics or it didn t happen.

Isn t it past your bedtime?

How many lights does NEW YORK CITY have? -

please help my find this..i am doing a paper and i need this in it..if u could also give me the source but if u know anything else about new york city that is fun fact.. please tell me

Lights? Do you mean traffic lights, or lighted signs, like in Times Square, as in, there s a broken heart for every light on Broadway? In either case, thousands.Good luck!

As of January 2006, there were 11,871 signalized intersections Citywide, including 2,795 in Manhattan, 4,100 in Brooklyn, 2,942 in Queens, 1,536 in the Bronx, and 500 in Staten Island.

Famous quot;hillquot; (in Signal Hill, I think) with view of the cities? -

I am trying to remember the name and place of this hill that has, I think, telescopes to view the surrounding cities, and I think it has a huge Christmas tree around this time. Like I said, I vaguely heard it is in Signal Hill (I thought it was Signal Hill itself but searching I only got results for the city of Signal Hill).I ask if anyone could give me directions on how to get to it.Thanks

The city of Signal Hill is a hill surrounded by the city of Long Beach. The park is Hilltop Park and they do have telescopes to view the surrounding area. You can see a 360 view of the entire area when the skies are clear. The website below has pictures. The Christmas tree is actually an antennae tower with Christmas lights on it. On VERY clear days I ve been able to see the Hollywood sign and even Griffith Observatory from that park. There is a also a short trail you can walk on that faces Long Beach Airport. Visiting early in the morning is when the views are the best. At night if the smog isn t too bad you can see downtown LA along with all of the other city lights. The address is 2351 Dawson Avenue.

the city of signal hill is on the hill. you can see it from the 405 freeway and sourounding areas within a 7 mile radius. it s not that hard to get to. but yes at the very top of the hill there is a small park with views of all of long beach and has telescopes, not sure about the tree though, but maybe. to get there, just take the 405 freeway. north or south depending on where you are coming from. get off on Temple. like i said you can see the hill from the freeway so just take the exit that is in the direction of the ocean. temple will take you to the to a very steep grade that is on your right. once you get on top of the grade make another right and just follow the main street it will take you to the top.

How far away is Port Orange, FL from Jacksonville, FL? -

I would like to know how long it takes to get there. Thanks

Port Orange is about 90 miles down I-95, so just over an hour after leaving Jacksonville.Geneva is about another 30 miles inland past Port Orange, so add another half-hour or so.Waldo is 55 miles down US301 from the west edge of Jacksonville, so slightly less than a hour (pass thru 2 small towns on the way including a nasty speed trap in Lawtey which slows you down some.)

What do you think of buckhead? -

its my hometown and I love it.mainly the shopping, clubs and pubs though:)

Eh. It s ok. I go there when I need something. I m glad my hair salon is there, very convenient to work and home.

Buckhead isn t a town, it s a district within the city of Atlanta.I m glad the hip hop crowd has disappeared.I m glad they tore down most of the old buildings.I m glad they are reinventing the district as an upper class destination for dining and shopping and not a place to party until dawn and be a victim of street gangs and crime. It s over rated as an entertainment district. It s way overpriced as a housing district.Lenox Mall is over rated. It s mainly a place to be seen by people who think they have it but don t really.

Don t like it. I don t like a lot things about Buckhead were blame on the hip hop scene. Buckhead has always had crime before it and still does. Buckhead tends to hide the prostitution, thefts, the break-ins, etc that go on. I know for fact this went on and they made sure that the media did not report until the hip hop crowd came. The drunkenness was there when I worked there in 94. And the armed robbery was there when my mother worked in Buckhead in the mid 80 s. And a stabbing in the 90 s when my brother worked in Buckhead the local new station was there, but did not report it two managers of a store got stabbed. I was a witness to this. So they try to make Buckhead seem like it Beverly Hills when it s not. I avoid Buckhead at leastt 99% of the time.

I live in Buckhead(born there too!!) and I love it.... The night life is amazing, there is nice restuarents and a couple of malls as well I love buckhead... :)

The Vinings is better...especially for spoiled cheerleaders.

dont spend much time there, but its ok. There are lots of clubs and some really great restaurants.

yeah i love it!!! Especially Lenox Square.
