Going to california next winter,plane tickets,hotel,help? -
Prices for those kind of things fluctuate on a regular basis, and it may not be wise to try to book things that far in advance. Please ask this again in about six months. I m sure there will be lots of community members willing to help you then.
First of all make sure you book your flight hotel and car together because you will save hundreds if not thousands. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

There are literally hundreds of things to do here in LA. Here is my list of must sees. Visit as many as you have time for.:Disneyland: The Happiest Place on Earth. Half a billion visitors cant be wrong. #1 Destination. Universal Studios: A theme park that grew out of a studio tour. #2 Destination.Even if you dont visit Disneyland or Universal Studios Tour, Downtown Disney District and Universal City Walk are very fun places to visit for shopping and eating. And theyre free to visit. Hollywood: Enjoy the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum, Chinese Theatre and more. You can see a lot for free. The Hollywood Highland complex has lots of shops and restaurants, and the Kodak Theater. The El Capitan theater, right across the street, is where Disney shows their movies. And the Hollywood Bowl is a GREAT place to listen to concerts outdoors. Olvera Street/Union Station: Olvera Street is the birthplace of LA, and it emphasizes our Mexican heritage. In addition to the Avila Adobe (oldest building in LA), you can eat at some pretty good Mexican Restaurants, do a little shopping, and taste a churro. If you dont want to go to Tijuana, this is as close as it gets without going there. Union Station has great architecture from a bygone age. Also, you are 2 blocks from Phillippes (see below).Rodeo Drive, 90210: Packed with exclusive shops, full of gawkers. They all came to enjoy the excess. Free, unless you intend to buy something.Venice Beach: Los Angeles kitsch and over-the-top culture at its best. Here you ll find Muscle Beach, street performers and tacky shops galore. Fun, VERY interesting, but I avoid it after dark, when it gets a little TOO interesting for my taste. Santa Monica: Beach and Pier: Great beach scene and a classic seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel that has been in a lot of TV and movies. After visiting the pier, you can ride a bike south a couple miles to Venice Beach. Sunset Boulevard began as a route between the stars posh neighborhoods and the Hollywood studios. It runs from downtown to the ocean, passing through the Sunset Strip on its way.Farmers Market and The Grove - A new shopping complex right next to a Los Angeles landmark, It is right next to CBS, so walk across the lot to see if they are taping The Price is Right . You might even get in.Griffith Park - Home of the Los Angeles Zoo, Griffith Park Observatory, Travel Town, the Greek Theatre, and Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage.Getty Museum - The Getty s architecture is so beautiful that it keeps me fascinated. No matter whether you like their art, architecture, or view better, the Getty is sure to please. Free.Attend a TV taping - You can get free tickets at audiencesunlimited.com, tvtix.com, or see the booth at Universal City walk. It s very interesting to see a show being taped. The most popular, by far, is the Tonight show. Check the NBC web site for all the details there.Places to eat:In-N-Out Burger: Multiple locations, best burger in LA, ask anyone.Pinks Hot Dogs: 709 N. La Brea, just north of Melrose. You might even see a celebrity. Maybe.Tommys Chili Burgers: Look for the shack, an LA tradition. The original location is at Beverly Rampart, a couple miles west of downtown.Canters Deli: 419 N. Fairfax, between Beverly Melrose. Near CBS, you might spot a celebrity.Phillippes: 1001 N. Alameda. Great roast beef sandwiches. Near Union Station and Olvera Street. Watch the mustard, its hot.Titos Tacos: Voted best tacos in LA, even though its in Culver City. The Pantry: Corner of Figueroa and 9th, downtown. Huge portions, they never close, GREAT steak and eggs.Places to Stay:Since LA is so spread out, there is no single place that is close to EVERYTHING. Most people who come here tend to stay in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Anaheim. In Hollywood, I recommend the Orchid Suites, Hollywood Celebrity Hotel, or Holiday Inn Walk of Fame, all near Hollywood and Highland. Another one is the Best Western Sunset Plaza. In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced. In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn. There is also a nice place in Burbank called the Best Western Media Center, very close to Warner, NBC, and Universal Studios.Places to Shop:Third Street Promenade, Santa MonicaThe Grove, Los AngelesAmericana @ Brand, GlendaleBeverly Center, Los AngelesCitadel Outlets, CommerceBrea Mall, BreaThe Block at Orange, OrangeSouth Coast Plaza, Costa MesaFashion Island, Newport BeachSantee Alley, Los AngelesWebsites: Tripadvisor.com, Travelocity.com, expedia.com and others.
Will it be roaming if I call from Hawaii to Alabama? -
Roaming is only for calls you make from outside your home area. If your home area is Hawaii, then there is no roaming but there is long distance.
I am not sure on your plan but roaming is not the same as long distance... roaming is when you leave your area and try to use your phone... not when you call an area outside your area... understand? lol
yup :D
Hey u new yorkers want 2 buy coach bag (knock off)? -
Buy an AUTHENTIC one for the same price on eBay, the knock-offs fall apart after a month.
You are looking to buy a counterfeit and since that is illegal the distributor could get into a lot of trouble shipping it. Mail fraud and such.Buying counterfeits is also immoral since you are depriving the designer of his right to benefit from his work.
Dont Get A Knock OffGet An Out Of Season BagCosts As Much As A Knock Off But Is RealTry Marshalls, tj maxxMarshalls.comTjmaxx.comThey Have Real Bags But That Are WAYYY Out Of Season So They Cost Very LittleGood Luck
I would not buy her a knock-off!
why would you buy your niece a knock off?
NYC for New Years Eve..Help me!? -
I think you ll have plenty of time if you travel by car service or have a vehicle available to you. If your thinking about using public transportation than i think you might be a little insane, lol.
Why are you staying in New Jersey if you want to go into Manhattan from La Guardia in Queens? You would have to start lining up hours before New Year s eve to get anywhere within a half mile of Times Sq. with a hundred thousand other people. You cannot do it because of a logistical problem that you described. You surely can make an attempt but you wont get close to Times Sq. until after midnight.
Don t fly into LGA, use Newark for a Jersey hotel. It s a shame there isn t anything cheap and safe to book in Newark since you could stow your stuff and then take the Path right into Herald Square and walk ten blocks uptown from there. If you wanted to use LGA, you should get a hotel in Queens near the airport or in Long Island City and then take the train in. Don t go to Secaucus from LGA. This would be madness.
Three hours is not long enough to get from LGA to Secaucus and then back to NYC by midnight. You might make it in time to watch the sanitation workers sweep the garbage left in the streets during the festivities.A better plan would be to go from the airport directly to whatever you want to do at midnight, and then check in at the hotel after midnight.
If your staying in Secaucus, you should fly into newark. If you want to go to Times Square, you re out of luck, most of those people you see on tv in the square have been there since before lunch.
You won t make it from the airport all the way to Secaucus in NJ and then back into the city by midnight. You should make reservations at a hotel in Long Island City (which is in Queens right across the river from Manhattan). That way you can check in, and then quickly get into the city probably by 11pm. Forget about Times Square, those people get there very early (like 10-11AM) and it is a ZOO.Overall the NYE experience in NYC is overrated. It just gets too crowded and hectic to have any fun. If you would like to go to a big club party or something along those lines I would recommend you buy a ticket from this site or a number of other sites:http://www.newyears.com/events/?zoneId=3Try to get in town early to avoid lines, and good luck!
If drive from Flint,Michigan to Birmingham,Alabama, and I wanted to travel for 5 hours a day...? -
5 hours a day only gets you down the road 300 miles. At that rate it will take you a week. I drove from Charleston SC to Lake Charles LA in just under 12 hours. That was 900 miles. Check this site:http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Flint 1s
What area should I look for hotels when visiting NYC? -
we visited NYC from Scotland in May for 7 days and stayed in a beautiful safe hotel called 70 Park Avenue, obviously this was on Park Avenue. it was in between 37th and 38th st, and we came out of our hotel and walked across a couple of streets and we were on 42nd street which was where Grand central terminal is, so central for transport that way, then if you walk up 42nd street to 5th avenue, you hit Bryant park, where NY fashion week is based, and the NY library, so we found this really central. you would walk to your right to get to rockefella centre or turn to your left to get to Empire state building or just continue to walk straight on to reach Times square. we also found this hotel and area to be close enough to walk to everything but far enough away that when it was bed time, you didn t hear so much noise that you may from a hotel in Times square for instance.Hope this helps you, enjoy your holiday in NY.
You re going to be dropped of near Penn Station, there are two hotels near by that is with walking distance to the Penn Station. The Hotel Pennsylvania, which is located on 7th Avenue between 32nd and 33rd Street, and The New York Hotel, which is located on 8th Avenue and 34th Streets. The links below are reviews for both hotels.Good luckNative New Yorker

Is Martinez, CA a safe city? -
Statistically, you re less likely to be a victim of crime in Martinez than Concord. Concord s crime is above the national average per 1,000 people and Martinez is below the national average. Neither town is Mayberry but they aren t considered unsafe either. Both towns have desirable parts and less desirable ones. Your best bet is to actually spend some time in the area you intend to move into. Drive through several times during the day and again at night. Really get the feel of the place.
It is not bad, but Concord is a bit safer.
