http://newyearsplans.com/nyc-roseland-baPaul van Dyk : New Year s Eve 2010 at Roseland Ballroom in New York NY Roseland opened in ballroom dancing s heyday--New Year s Eve 1919--before falling on hard times as a dime-a-dance hall during the Depression. In the flush 40s, it became a big-band mecca, featuring as many as three orchestras on as many stages nightly. Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and the Dorsey Brothers made Roseland the foundation for the 52nd Street bebop scene. Once rock and roll took over in the 50s, the venue declined, briefly attracting a new generation of dancers during the 70s disco inferno. http://newyearsplans.com/nyc-roseland-ba

What to do in New york? -
Go visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, two landmarks of New York City. To get there by the ferry, you need to purchase round-trip ferry tickets at Castle Clinton National Monument in Lower Manhattan. Ferries from New York operate on a loop, stopping first at Liberty Island and then at Ellis Island before returning to Battery Park, New York.Directions to get the ferry dock:http://www.nps.gov/stli/planyourvisit/puGo visit the Empire State Building, one of the many landmarks of our city. It is located at 350 5th Avenue. To get there by MTA subway, take the 1, 2, or 3 (Seventh Avenue Lines), A, C or E (Eighth Avenue Subway) to 34th Street/Penn Station. Or take the B, D, F, N, Q, R or Path to 34th Street/Avenue of the Americas.Go walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, which is, if I m correct, which I might not be, is the oldest structure in the city. If not the oldest structure, the oldest bridge. To get there, and walk across it, take the 4, 5, or 6 to the Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall stop. Another option would be to take the J, M, or Z to Chambers Street.Go visit Coney Island, the home of the world famous Cyclone roller coaster. The amusement park will be closed, especially in the winter time, but the aquarium is open year-round, and sometimes the pier is open, so you can get some snacks -- they have fantastic corn dogs on the pier. To get there by train, take the D, Q N or F train to Stillwell Avenue, which is the last stop. This takes about 45 minutes from midtown Manhattan, and sometimes longer, depending on where you are coming from.Go for a ride on the Circle Line. There are numerous different cruises C one is the Full Island Cruise, which takes you around Manhattan on a three-hour cruise. The Semi-Circle Cruise sets sail on a two-hour cruise down the Hudson offering a stunning panoramic of the famed New York skyline and a close-up view of Lady Liberty. The Liberty Cruise turns 75-minutes into a quick and inspirational way to see New Yorks highlights from the water. There is also a Harbor Lights Evening Cruise, which allows you to view the hotspots of New York City from the water at night. Then, there is The Beast. Its a boat that travels at forty-five miles per hour down the river to the Statue of Liberty. Both cruises are fun and informational, and are a great way to kill some time if you dont have anything to do.Here is the Circle Line schedule:http://www.circleline42.com/site/schedulCircle Line special events:http://www.circleline42.com/site/browse.Go to visit some museums. There are so many, that listing directions to all of them would be a waste of your time and my time, so instead, I will give you a list where there is a list of all the museums of New York City. You can pick some that sound interesting, and then you can find directions to that place, either from the website, or from Google, simply by typing in directions to and insert the museum you would like to go to beside it. Can i get into the university of miami? -
My daughter got in two years ago. The biggest thing I think that helped her was to get to know your department head -- she was in music - very competitive degree program. If UM was going to be anywhere that we could go and just show her face to the department head - we were there. They need to get to know YOU in person not just you on paper. Hope this makes sense. Stay focused, be serious about your dream and it will show. Your GPA and SAT look OK - but today that is not everything! Clubs, community work, even degree camps - like Theatre camp, Tennis camp, whatever your major is. And, the university is private and $35,000 won t cut it!!!! Try for as many scholarships as possible - your parents will thank you!For my daughter s degree plan, they had a set number of students that they allowed in the program. So when a senior graduated that made space for one freshman the next year. The year she applied, only 10 slots were available - nationwide. There were over 500 applicants and she secured one of those 10 slots, her GPA was not awesome and her SAT was not awesome, but her determination and her drive were! Plus she was only one of two females accepted out of the ten students. We were elated!!!!Best of luck, get out there and show your face. Set up a personal interview to visit the university department head. Make sure your photo is on your resume so they can match you up with your paperwork - trust me it works. We got our other daughter into the University of Texas the same way!Another thought - if you don t make it the first year, you can always transfer in!Have fun in high school and best of luck!
Alumni can have a say only if they interview you.
Anything is possible with attending the University of Miami. You should realize that it is a very competitive school to get into and while you are listing many things you do, you need to remember that the most important things that matter to an admissions department at a university are:GPA taken from the hardest curriculum andSAT/ACT scores. Nowadays, many people are involved with many clubs, organizations and outside events so essentially you are involved with community, but the buzz word for admissions people is focused. They like see people more focused in certain things rather than doing a million things. While your PSAT scores are fine, they really don t mean anything to the admissions department. First off, your GPA is really strong but you need to make sure you are doing 4 years of English, taking challenging courses in Math, preferably 4 years of a foreign language, 4 years of science, and it also helps if you are taking AP courses and even taking some credits at a local community college. Sometimes a little lower GPA but taking a tough curriculum is really what the admissions departments like to see. On the UM website, they say that a 3.4 is competitive and usually someone who is in the 10% of their graduating class. As for your SAT/ACT, the U of Miami website said that the 50% range for the ACT is 28-32 and SAT 1250-1390. So if you get good test scores and have taken a challenging course load in high school, you will make a very competitive student for UM. If you don t get in immediately, I know many people who attend community college or a university for a semester or a year and then transfer to UM as a way of showing the admissions department that they are excellent candidates for the university.Do keep in mind that UM is an incredibly expensive university, something like $35,000 a year. While it is an outstanding university, keep in mind that usually what you are studying can be found at a smaller university or a state university for much less than UM. Also consider what your major will be and keep in mind that different colleges have different emphasis.Good luck and I hope you gain admissions.

Do you think New York will be standing in...and what do you think of my plan? -
First off, there s no sense in asking the question twice. Go delete the other question.Second, what on earth do you mean will new york still be standing ? Of course it will, what crazy person made you think otherwise?Third, you ask if you will have enough . Enough for what? To move here? To visit? How much will you have saved up? I don t know how much money you make. Lastly, good luck getting into college when you can t even spell college. You have terrible grammar. Work on it.
