I know the Red line and Blue line run 24/7 but do they run 365 days a year? Because everyone says that the New York subway is the the only train to run 24/7 365 days a year
The Blue Line and the Red Line run 24/7, 365 days a year. The other 6 lines run approximately 21 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a general schedule starting at about 4AM and running until about 1AM, with each line s schedule being slightly different.
Yes, the Blue and Red Lines do. People need to get around. On major holidays, service might be reduced, but the trains still come often enough.Chicago also has trains that go between the city and suburbs; they belong to a different system, called Metra. The system that runs mainly in the city proper (with a few exceptions) belongs to the Chicago Transit Authority, or CTA. This train system is popularly called the L. It does NOT normally take 45 minutes to go 10 stops.... If you were visiting Chicago, you might have come during a weekend or other time when they were performing construction on the tracks, making the trains move very slowly or remain at standstills. It s frustrating when that is the case, but honestly, it s not typical. The CTA s website has gotten good at providing warnings in advance when there will be construction that could slow down your commute. This helps you plan accordingly.
The subway service in NY runs just like ours on the 365 days a year, they go on sunday schedule on holidays. But NY also has trains that go out to the burbs, and all different types of lines, just like us...so it will also depend on what line too.
Chicago trains are very slow. It should run 365 days a year because it takes so long to go 10 stops. The train cars are also very small and congested with no space to stand or barely sit.
Being from NYC there is no comparison. Chicago trains run extremely slow..Why does it take 45 minutes to go 10 stops????.. I know the blue line to O hare airport is 24/7.
all of the systems run all of the time, maybe not all of the lines do. This is not NY thank god
having been to NY there trains are slow and icky. Chicago runs all of the time
