Is there any way to get to Cooperstown NY without driving? -

I am trying to plan a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame from Australia, I have searched and searched but can t seem to find any way of getting to Cooperstown. I m not really comfortable with the prospect of driving in America. While I have searched and can t find anything, I m hoping maybe a local would have some knowledge that isn t popping up on google! Any help would be appreciated!

Manhattan and Cooperstown, NYhttp://411newyork.org/guide/2009/08/24/mAre you staying in Manhattan? Unfortunately, passenger trains currently do not run from Manhattan to Cooperstown, NY and if you were to use Amtrak, its closest stop would be in Utica which is approximately forty (40) miles away.If you are staying in Manhattan, you could take a bus (currently US$89.00/AU$101 round trip) from the Port Authority Bus Terminal located between 40th 41st Street on Eight Avenue in Manhattan to Cooperstown to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame.Hope that helps.Stevehttp://411newyork.org

The other guys gave you good advice about how to get there and I will add that the ride up the Hudson to Albany is so scenic that they named an entire school of art after it The bus route goes up the Thruway But the train route stays on the RiverSince you don t have a car it is critically important that reserve a place to stay that is either within walking distance or on the shuttle bus routehttp://cooperstownchamber.org/During the summer and especially during Induction Week Cooperstown is overflowing with people who love the game of baseball .While the camaraderie is nice it does cause the local hotels ,motels and bed and breakfasts that are close to the HOF to fill up months in advanceAt this time of year crowds will not be problem But I would guess that many properties operate only seasonally ...so still make reservationsEnjoy the HOF

You will have to drive a little... unless you want to take a bus. You would need to fly into Albany, then take a bus to Cooperstown. (Try Adirondak trailways busline). But, honestly, driving is easier (except that this time of year is winter and there will be snow). You couold also try to fly into Syracuse even, if you wanted to. (Adirondak Trailways bus again). Pine Hill Trailways buses out of NYC and up to Cooperstown too... but it is a loooooong bus ride. I m pretty sure they bus into Cooperstown at least daily.
