Christmas in Illinois any ideas? -

Im going to Illinois for christmas this year ive been once before but that was in the summer. I live in Florida so im used to the heat. Any suggestions on what type of clothes i should bring, what things to do while im there. Where staying in the suburbs of Chicago. And how cold does it usually get and does it snow around christmas time? thanks in advance

I could be 60 degrees or 20 below zero. Most likely 20 to 30 degrees. There could be much snow or none. Bring a winter coat, scarf and hat, gloves and boots. If you don t need them, ok. Since you re from Florida, long sleeves and long pants would be a good idea. I personally am hoping for a good winter that has little snow or ice and warmer temps (like above zero degrees F). It can vary drastically -- One year it was 60 degrees on both July 4th and New Years day! One December it snowed about every other day (way too much)! I personally love the museums and the aquarium. It could take your whole vacation just to get thru the museum of science and industry. There are large shopping malls in the area that are beautiful to shop at during this time, too. Have a nice Holiday Season!

Suggestions for someone who wants to move to Seattle? -

Recently I ve really been wanting to move out of Texas. I ve never been to Seattle but it looks like an amazing place! I decided that I would make this move at the end of next yr. So I m giving myself plenty of time to plan for it. I ve been doing a little research online but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as far as what part of Seattle would be good to move to or even some outside cities. I m still in college and will probably transfer to a community college first so that I don t have to pay out of state tuition. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Also if anyone else has done this before...the whole picking up and moving thing...any advice about that would also be great!! Thanks so much!!

Seattle is a great city, I recommend it. The city is devided up into different neighborhoods and it is all dependant on what style of life you want for yourself. There is a really good Community College just 12 blocks from downtown called Seattle Central Community College. The other benefit to finishing at a community college is that if you are interested in going to a university in Washington, they prefer to take transfer students from the local community colleges. oh yea and all the previous comments about how much it rains here, are all BS. Sure it is overcast or cloudy during the winter time, and yes during those months it does rain more than the average places in the US, however on a positive note from May till late September there is not a more beautiful place on the planet

Do not even consider this until you visit the place at the very least... only you can judge if it is right for you... stay a week and see... don t just go by the image of the place... go and explore it... Also... I can guarantee it is more expensive up there... so research all the costs and check out all the surrounding cities as well... you may or may not change your mind...And it CONSTANTLY rains there... 300 days out of the year at least...

It s actually 156 not 300. I m planning to move aswell, probably in the next 2 months, you can contact me if you want.

Have an Umbrella handy

How can i get my mom to move to florida? -

i been wounding if i can get my mom to move from NY Rochester to florida..rochester just plain bad..i was moving on my own but then she wated to move too but she keeps on changing her mind and alot of con fussing

Find a good job for her in Florida. Also research clubs and committees which might be interesting to her. It would probably be useful to find friends or neighbors who have lived in Florida and get your mom to talk with them about it.
