You probably want to put this under Homework Help or Sociology as this is for US travel.

Has anyone bought disneyworld tickets from craigslist? I am going in one week PLEase help appreciate any input? -

Disney tickets are linked to their original owners by a biometric scan of the finger. Essentially the tickets are linked to you by your fingerprint. If you try to pass through the turnstile with a ticket that doesn t match the scan associated with that ticket the gate will lock and you will not be allowed through. Also, tickets expire 14 days from their first use, unless the No Expiration option is purchased. Chances are that not only would your tickets be expired but that the gates would lock up in the rare event you bought tickets that had the No Expiration option (which would be pointless for someone to sell since the No Exp option is marketed as these tickets only expire when you do. Edit: Sam - Obviously the ticket needs to be used once for the biometric scan to be associated with it.

It s very risky buying Disney tickets on Craigslist since you don t know what you are going to get. People often try to sell partially used tickets but Disney tickets are not transferable, this is why they scan your finger when you enter the parks. So if this ticket was used by someone else you might get to the gate and discover that the ticket is useless.

It can be risky buying Walt Disney World tickets from unauthorized source, particularly from an individual. If you re seeking a discounted option, you might choose an authorized wholesaler in the Orlando area. They buy tickets in bulk and can resell them at a discount. The tickets are new and legitimate and, although the savings aren t huge, they re a safer option. Since you re leaving so soon, I would probably recommend the Official Ticket Center or Maple Leaf Tickets, who can deliver your tickets to an Orlando hotel for a small fee.

No I haven t because they re always a scam. Park tickets can t be sold that way because once someone has used them at the entrance gate it scans their finger, if someone else tries to use it will be rejected. Save yourself the money and the stress and just buy them at the parks. They re expensive, there is no way around it but trust me, any tickets for sales at a good price online are always a scam. Don t fall for it.

Try orlandoattractions.com. That s where I got mine for next month and I saved $30 from buying them anywhere else! I d say avoid CL because it s pretty sketchy! Have fun, WDW is the best! Disney tickets are linked to their original owners by a biometric scan of the finger. Essentially the tickets are linked to you by your fingerprint. If you try to pass through the turnstile with a ticket that doesn t match the scan associated with that ticket the gate will lock and you will not be allowed through. That s true but you don t get scanned until the first time you use your tickets.

Better to pay once at full price than to buy from some individual and pay twice, once at full price and once you wasted. Not to mention the disappointment at the gate.

Poll: what are your favorite top 5 restaurants in Houston area? -

In no particular order....1. Quattro - Downtown near where the Rockets play. It s located inside the 4 Seasons. You wouldn t think it by looking at it, but the food there is outstanding and the prices are fairly reasonable.2. Jasper s - Not technically Houston, it s in The Woodlands. One of my favorite places.3. Damien s - Nice romantic restaurant near downtown. Great selection.4. Frenchie s - Probably the BEST hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant in the city. It s located in the Clear Lake area down the street from NASA. Owners are from Italy. 5. Americas - Galleria Area. It s a South American Cuisine type of a restaurant. The food is good, but the inside decor is even better. This is one of my favorite restaurants simply because the inside of the restaurant looks so unique....Of course Brennan s would have been on this list, but IKE took it away from us....

You know, there s a DINING OUT section for questions like these... Report Abuse

1 Tony s#2 Ray s in Fulshear#3 Oishii#4 Fogo de Chao#5 Taco trucks on Long Point

I love Capital Grille! Right next to theGalleria... :)But I don t really have a top 5 .

Where do quot; classyquot; couples go for new years eve in cleveland ? -

Me and my b/f is looking for a gala long formal dress and black tie event for new years eve ?were still in our twenties but we don t want to be stuck in a club with a bunch of young ones, booty chasers. You get the idea just somewhere maybe an orchestra or a nice band maybe a 30 s and up crowd would be nice mostly of couples. I m not from cleveland so I don t know the area. So where should we go any ideas ?

If you would like to celebrate New Year s Eve in one of the world s most acclaimed concert halls with an orchestra, consider a Severance Hall New Year s Eve with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. Dancing in the Grand Foyer begins at 11 p.m.!http://events.ohio.com/cleveland-oh/evenThis event usually sells out.http://www.clevelandorchestra.com/purchaOther possibilities include Windows on the River or Landerhaven:http://windowsontheriver.com/http://www.executivecaterers.com/abo+upcYou also could check out one of the upscale hotel packages:http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Propertieshttp://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Propertieshttp://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-deaIf you like samba, there is Srgos SARAV BAR New Year s Eve Samba Party:http://www.sergioscleveland.com/Happy 2010!

To tell you the truth I do not think that Cleveland has anything like that. I am from New york and the only thing I found you can do in this city is drink. If you know someone in a suburb of cleveland like westlake, or medina and see if a country club is doing anything.

the only place that would have something like that, you would need an invitation for and it would probably be a club such as Shoreby on the lake. other than that its not likely youll find anything

not many places for that. maby an expensive steak place ( idk the name of one)

if you need to ask, well you know the rest.

The most formal public events most likely include those at Severance Hall with the Cleveland Orchestra, or upscale downtown hotels such as the Ritz Carlton, Marriot, Intercontinental or Renaissance Hotel. I understand the atmosphere you are looking for, but even though these are formal, they might still be optional black tie. In addition, I think they might draw an older crowd for the most part.Windows on the River - well known banquet facility downtown with great views of the skyline -or the Nautica Queen - a popular Lake Erie touring cruise ship - have well known New Years Eve events that include dinner, dancing and drinks. This might be a good fit with a fun, younger crowd, but still tasteful. Cocktail attire is probably what s appropriate for these events. Most upscale restaurants downtown or in the city, will most likely have a New Years package. The key to ensuring a more sophisticated evening - though cocktail attire is still more appropriate to black tie - is to pick the most upscale restaurants downtown. Lola s, Johnny s Downtown, Blue Point, XO, Morton s, or Hyde Park. However, they probably only have dinner packages, and assume the crowd may ring in the New Years at the more upscale hotel bars. Nighttown is a fantastic spot on the east side that is actually a world renowned Jazz club. The music, food, atmosphere are all fantastic. No idea if they have a New Years Party for sure, but this would be a nice place to check. If I were you, I d make your reservations fast if you plan on doing something more formal.

Does Star Island Resort in Orlando have a complimentary shuttle to Disney or Universal? -

Doesn t appear to. On their website at http://www.star-island.com/ it says the concierge can help you get transportation - that pretty much means they will call you a cab. So it looks like they do not have a shuttle.
