I just got back from NYC for the first time not too long ago. It was AMAZING! Time square is the best, definitely my favorite, and China Town and Little Italy were really cool too. There s all kinds of neat stuff to do in Times Square. But tell them that whenever they go that they should NOT eat at Roxy s in Times Square because its WAY expensive and its disgusting. Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood were really good though. :) Central Park is a must also!

Shopping can be at Macy s and Time Warner Building. This is for attractions:http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-27Good luck!

How did the Great Compromise combine the Virginia and New Jersey plan? -

The Virginia Plan, or the large state plan, proposed that each state would have a number of votes based on the population. The New jersey Plan, or the small state plan, asked for an equal number of representatives regardless of the population of the state. Obviously, smaller states would benefit from the small state plan and vice versa for the larger states. The Great Compromise combined the two plans by creating a House of Representatives which drew representatives from each state based from the state s population and the Senate which consisted of two elected senators from each state, regardless of the population. Both the House of Representatives and the Senate took action in politics and both the small and large states were satisfied, hence the Compromise

Would you let your 15 year old and a group of friends go to NYC? -

Would you let your 15 year old daughter go to New York for a few hours in a certain area with a few girlfriends? Please no wise comments- just a simple yes or no and an explanation. My daughter is very mature- and I can trust her, I just wanna double check with other moms/dads out there!Thank you!

absolutely. well, i am only 17 and im NOT a mom. but maybe some feedback from a teen girl who has been in that situation will help you. I am very mature and responsible for my age. I get good grades and i dont do drugs or have sex or any of that dangerous stuff that some teens do. So, when i was 16 and i asked my parents to let me go to NYC with some friends for a week in the summer, they knew i could be trusted and they made me raise my own money to go. Trust me, being in the real world alone for a while will help your daughter see what she has to get used to when she goes to college and lives on her own. It ll help her appreciate you more, knowing that you wont always be there with her. Also, it ll give her a chance to make some crazy memories with her friends so when she grows older she can think back on that wonderful time. I m sure you have a bunch of great memories, so allow your daughter the opportunity to make some of her own. And safety is not a big issue since there are cellphones and security officers and as long as she travels with a buddy she ll be fine :)

No - I m 16 and my parents thought I was mature (I m good at lying/hiding my bad ways) but whenever I went somewhere with my friends without a parent we would drink, meet older men and other things my parents will never find out about. And seriously NYC? 15 year olds alone?! you re asking for trouble.

If you are from a big city yourself yes, if you are from the country side, no way! Off course there are plenty of 15 y.o. in New York, who go about the city by themselves without getting hurt or shot. However, they are used to it. They know where to go and where NOT to go, etc.

NO, unless there was an adult with them to watch out for them. Absolutely not. You know all those faces you see on milk cartoons of kids missing? A lot of them are young teenagers. There are predators out there. I don t care how many other friends she s with-it s not a good idea. I m not even sure it s legal.

No. If she has extensive experience in the city [having traveled there many times or having lived there] I might consider it. And, perhaps if she were also going with one friend who I knew very well and if my daughter had proven trustworthy in the past. But, generally: NO!

i m not a mother, but my mom would let me go, as long as she knew where in the city i was going to be and how i would get there and backand if i had my cell with me ;)

NO....not without an older chaperone, with all the abductions in the news, I wouldn t chance it with my daughter, I think in today s world it is just too dangerous.

Absolutely not. A mature, responsible 15-year-old, with friends who are the same, is entirely unprepared to deal with things that could happen to her.

Yes. I did let my kids go to the city at that age. Just have her keep in touch and let you know which bus/train they will be taking back home. They can get into trouble at home.

ha, ha, ha ha... NO.Maybe you can trust HER, but you can t trust her friend s judgement and other people/factors that would be encountered.

If you live in NYC I would let them all go. As long as they have their phones. But if you live far away, no.

Not without a chaperone. Why? Its New York City - not Mayberry .

Yes,only for a few hours though.

Im thinking of moving to Anchorage, Alaska in the spring. Could anyone who lives there give me info or advice? -

I m moving in the spring. I ve got a few places in mind but Anchorage, Alaska is at the top of my list. Any info or advice from those who live or have lived there? Thanks!

Well really what part of spring? Up here early spring can be cold still (We still get snow in March). Late spring can be messy with break up. However if you plan on buying a house wait until spring when the snow melts. You ll see more of what you need to, such as any potholes, leaks, general discarded junk, or ..well lassie landmines . If you plan on renting there are many apartments, plus some people have condos to rent as well. Suggest having a car, but to me that bit would be for anyplace. We do have a bus system, but I always hate waiting for a bus late at night or in the cold.

well it is still very cold in the spring so if you like the cold it is a beautiful city!
