Scary places to drive around Sacramento? -

I was out driving around last night with friends along highways 104 and 124 and we had a blast in on the dark roads. Especially passing the cooling towers at Rancho Seco. I just wanted to hear of any other creepy places to drive around the greater Sacramento area that are fun drives at night, in bad weather, or whatever.

Most of the area around the delta are scary at night. Running the risk of dying makes it even more scary. Quite a few drivers drive way too fast on the levi roads and often run off or smash into other drivers and into the rivers.Other scary parts: Del Paso Heights, South Sacramento, Alkali Flat. Those areas are scary in a different sense. They are the prime locations for shooting episodes of Cops . You will have a real reason for being scared while driving through those areas.

The way people around here drive in the rain, pretty much any place is scary if you ask me.

I d suggest the Frightening District, off Route 4

Does it ever snow in Hawaii? -

Just curious :)

Yes, you can find snow on Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Haleakala which are the three tallest volcanoes all over 10,000 ft but the snow level never gets below 9000 ft.http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/GG/ASK/hawaihttp://www.hawaiilife.com/articles/2009/

Yes. although Hawaii is located in the tropics, it contains high mountains which receive snowfall every winter. on the island of Maui, Haleakala occasionally gets a little bit of snow.

Yes every year, you can even snowboard.

yeah, on the top of the mountains

Yah are you kidding me it s a ******* snowstrom right now. During the winters we take down our houses and build igloos. We play our games on our blubber powered 360 s. My uncles leg has frozen off and we have eaten it cause all the fish have died of hypothermia. On average 1000 people a day get sufficated by snow down here.

My first thought is no. However, it may snow like 10,000 feet in the air above hawaii and melt before it gets to low altitudes, but I doubt it has ever snowed in Hawaii. Too humid.

No. Never. You can even play in the ocean in December there!!!

I think it did once, but it s not usually supposed to snow in Hawaii.

never

Las Vegas - Mandalay Bay or Treasure Island? -

I have been checking package prices, and they are about the same right now price wise. Just can t decide on which one for Christmas.

either one is fine. how much. Golden Nugget had a flyer in the LV review jorunal and on 12/31 wants $150- a night. if you can do less, take it now. this is the crazy season out here.

The location of Treasure Island is much better, but Mandalay Bay is a nicer hotel. Also, TI charges a resort fee of $20 per day, which Mandalay does not. So add that to the nightly rate and see if they are still comparable. If so, I might be tempted to chose TI just for the location. It s a nice place, and I like staying in that area of the strip - lots of things going on. Mandalay is all the way at the very end, so it s not convenient to much else. But there is a free tram from Mandalay that stops at Luxor Excalibur, which gets you a bit closer to the action around MGM, Planet Hollywood, etc.I don t think you ll be disappointed with either place though.

Mandalay Bay by a huge margin. I stayed there December last year, and stayed at Treasure Island in December 2007.The only advantage to TI is you re closer to the center strip. The TI rooms totally suck in comparison to Mandalay Bay.Here are reviews I wrote of each property:http://hubpages.com/hub/Mandalay-Bay-Lashttp://hubpages.com/hub/Treasure-Island-

You better double check the prices .... TI will charge you an extra $20.00 per day resort fee and Mandalay Bay does not. That will make a difference in what you were quoted. Note that resort fees can not be paid in advance and have to be paid upon checking in. You might want to read this webpage about those fees.

Both hotels are fine but I prefer Mandalay Bay because of the great casino atmosphere and the nice rooms and suites. Before you book at one of these hotels make sure to check the latest promotion offers in order to get the best price. http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com is great for this.

Mandalay Bay has a better pool and is nicer but in the southern most location on the strip which can be inconvenient, as the tram is sometimes frogged up....TI is OK and much more convenient to everything....

Go to the mandalay bay because in my opinion it is better looking and there is an extra $20 fee that treasure island has so mandalay bay is the best choice

Mandalay Bay is a much better hotel. Big cleaner rooms, great service.http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas

Mandalay Bay is one of the better resorts on the Strip. I ve stayed there before and enjoyed it.

Both are exceptional places to stay, take the best deal and book it ASAP because prices are going up and up on airlines

Where should we stay in Hawaii? -

My future hubby and I are planning our honeymoon. I d prefer a hotel - no kitchen, just room service, a pool, fresh towels - and he d prefer a vacation home type thing - make our own breakfast/lunch and so on. I am a 5-star/4-star person, I don t think he cares. We aren t really sure where we want to stay but would like something on or near a nice beach where we can hang out and swim. If it had a pool that d be even better. On the big island is our preference, but I know Maui is beautiful (probably expensive) so we are open to anything. Please help! Please no spam. If you ve been somewhere, tell us about it! What did you like? Any warnings? Where did you stay?

If I were you, I would try Home away from home. They let you rent a house or a condo. They usually clean the room for you and you do have full kitchen, but you always have a choice to dine (or eat breakfast or lunch) out.I did it few times and I have only positive fillings as my wife does. We did occasionally ate at home (meaning in the house we rented for the vacation) and it was easy to do things with full kitchen available. But still most of the time we dined out, and no noisy neighbors around to annoy us. Plus we did have personal Jacuzzi and pool. Way better then public once. You are free to do there whatever you wish.

We visited Maui and we enjoyed it very much. There are very nice hotels/resorts to stay in the Kaanapalli area. Also, there were a number of restaurants sea bound activities nearby. I would highly recommend Maui

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Turtle Bay is a realllly nice place to stay, except it s on Oahu. It s right on the beach so when you step out the back of your room (like you would if you had a balcony), you re literally right on the beach.

So I need a moving company for this weekend, or next weekend? -

and I m trying to find a good moving company that can move me from santa cruz to los angeles (downtown area). i really don t want to get ripped off and this is the first time i m moving so i found this website for moving company in los angeles http://excaliburvanlines.com any reference

I used http://excaliburvanlines.com several times. They are very good movers, the rates are always very competitive and the service is just amazing.I d definitely recommend you to go with them

What kind of clothes should i wear in a tropical rain forest-? -

research project..... if i were to visit the tropical rain forest, what type of clothing would i need to bring?

Light-weight cottons or linens. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants because of the skeeters. High-topped sneakers or waterproof light-weight hiking boots, with socks. Cotton cap of some kind, preferably with a netting to cover your face and neck from ...yeah...the skeeters and spider webs.

I actually went to Costa Rica 2 year ago and here s what I brought:some t-shirts, but mostly beatersbermuda shorts, hiking boots, sneakers, flip flopssocks!underwear (i had some that were spandex like- very helpful because they dry fast!)a light pair of pants for nighttimelots and lots of bug spray!!hope this helps!

The native women wear a kind of thong and a bone in their nose. I d go with that.
