Free parking on streets on Drexels campus? -

Where is there free street parking on Drexel s campus (University City)? I know about Powelton Ave, but there are never any open spots! By free parking I mean 24/7 parking (not 2 hours or anything, somewhere that I can park and leave my car for a few days..)Paying for drexel s parking garage is causing me to go broke so next term im not renewing my parking permit and wanted to make a list of the free parking streets. Thanks!

There is free parking on 34th St. North of market, Free parking on Arch St. between 33rd and 34th, free parking on Race St., Filbert St. is a good spot right off of 34th. Powelton, like you said, and there is some free parking along Lancaster Ave.

Unfortunately there aren t any. Powelton Ave is the only place you can park. Unless you park in west philly parking lot and pay $2 a day - but then you would have to take the Lucy which, I am not sure if you have to pay or not-because you are a student. If you take notice-they are re-doing the pavements up market street. They are making market a two car lane street, so even the parking meters are being taken out and eliminated! There s always parking on Chestnut street but you would have to go to your car every 2 hours and pay via quarters or smart card which is sold at Wawa and 7 Eleven.Drexels parking garage is very expensive, as well as other parking lots in the area. I parked down at 30th street and pay $120 a month to park. It s insane- during the nicer months, I just take Septa and save myself some money.

If you really don t mind the walk, Spring Garden has open spots along the streets. It s a pretty long walk to campus though. I park in garage and yeah, expensive as hell and it s starting to get crowded. Of course, you can drive around and try to park up at 33th and 34th, but it s always full and rarely any spots.

Market Street has always been 4 lanes...the construction corresponds to the new athletic center.Powelton always had the best turnover for me. I d pass the block once and not see a thing, come back in 2-3 minutes and have plenty of spots...it just takes patience. 33-36th Street are all free parking up past Market (there are a few meters on 36th IIRC). Hamilton is also an alright street, though I don t know if I d hit it alone.

Halloween Horror Nights? -

How busy is HHN opening weekend?

No it s busy, but not as busy as the next weekends to come are, I suggest you go on Wednesday, or Thursday it s less busy. The wait time and lines get longer as it gets closer to Halloween. I got tickets for Halloween Night for myself and some friends this a few years ago and was shocked on how dead the park was. We had so much fun, we went though every house and saw the two shows in one night! I would said wait and go Halloween Night, that s what myself and my friends do, but that s just what I personally think. Hope I helped!

It s not all that busy, to be honest. It has the standard wait times for houses, nothing excessive. It definitely gets much busier as Halloween gets closer, but Halloween itself is dead as all hell.

Where is a flatland in Cincinnati to view the meteor shower? -

Cincinnati was built on seven hills, there is no flatland.you need to get out of town. As suggested, I too would recommend the VOA park.

Voice of America Park. North of town. I found it by accident when the kites were there, so I can t give you directions.http://www.butlercountymetroparks.org/inThe fine print says that the hours are 8:00 AM until dark. You may be able to get special permission if you apply ahead of time and swear to God that you aren t going to drink alcohol, have sex or do any vandalism. It would help if you have some Astronomical Group that you belong to. Also, check the Cincinnati Observatory in Mount Lookout.http://www.cincinnatiobservatory.org/

Stonelick Lake State Park is the viewing location suggested by the Cincinnati Observatory. Details at http://www.cincinnatiobservatory.org/dar

Moving to Juneau AK.? -

If my Husband gets his job we will be moving to Juneau AK. We are planing to drive an RV and make it a long road trip. Will be living in AK for the summer months and was wondering if you could tell me anything we need to know or do and if staying in a RV in AK is a good idea for 6 months. I need to know things I might not think of. Thanks

You can only access Juneau by plane or boat, so your RVing idea is not possible.

How much would it cost to go to disney? -

Hey! I was on the disney website, trying to book my vacation, but for some reason it s acting stupid, I tried looking at the packages, but all I see are the 2009 ones, and I ll be going in 2010! Can someone please help me. So here it is 2 adults 1 child ( will be her birthday when we arrive, and she will be 2 )3 days / 2 nights We want to stay inside disney at the Disney Movie Resort one.We need a dining plan ( Just a simple, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and snack one. ) And just simple basic tickets for the 3 days. No hoppers or anything. What would be the average cost of that?

Depending on what type of resort (value, moderate or deluxe) you stay at the price will wary, but if you stay at a value the cost will be $956. Also, the dining plans vary I would check out which one will fit you best. This one includes one table service, one quick service, and one snack per day. Also included is: $15 planet Hollywood voucher and souvenir, one mini golf pass, arcade card, luggage tags, and discount offers.

Book through AAA. Look at the All Star resorts.

If you log on to Disney s website and click on parks and then Walt Disney World there should be a feature that allows you to begin planning your trip. You just select your arrival/departure dates and how many people are with you (as well as their ages) and from there you can edit your trip to fit your needs. This is two nights, three days for two adults and a 2 year old child in the Disney All Star Movie Resort with the basic meal package and 3 days at Disney (not the park hopper). This doesn t include airfare :)Total: $956.18Travel DatesCheck InFebruary 25, 2010Check OutFebruary 27, 2010Travel Party2 Adults1 Child (Age 2)Resort ChoiceDisney s All-Star Movies ResortDining and Entertainment ChoiceMagic Your Way Package Plus DiningPark Ticket Choice3 Day Magic Your Way Ticket

Best place to look for accommodation in Berkeley California? -

Hi,Ill be moving to berkeley for 3 months in february as a visiting researcher in the university. Could anyone suggest a way for me to find accommodation? Thanks

There s a site called Berkeley Parents Network which consists of thousands of local people who get this weekly newsletter. Many people place ads for sublets/rentals. That should help you. You can also look through UC Berkeley for rentals, since you are a visiting researcher they may help you out. Be sure to check out the adjoining cities such as Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, Oakland, in addition to Berkeley. Good luck!

Is the DMV office in Miami Dade open on Saturdays? -

This is not a travel question. Do you really think this is a better place to find an answer than going to the DMV website or just calling them? I d try that if I wanted a quick answer.

I live in NYC and need to make someone I love love it here too. Where do I take them? -

My boyfriend lives in california and is coming to NYC to visit for his first time ever. I want it to be special so any and all suggestions on WHERE to go are welcome. I am from here but always want to explore new places.

take them to the statue of liberty ellis island , the world trade center use to be, the mall near the world trade center, times square, Brooklyn bridge park, Manhattan bridge

It s going to be tough. Many people from the West Coast don t like New York no matter what you expose them to here and vice versa.Your best bet is to find a lot of places that you think will interest him...if he s into art, take him to museums, etc. Hopefully he s not all about surfing or you may be in trouble.

The Cloisters, Staten Island Ferry The Guggenheim Museum. But you can NEVER make someone love :( ! As the old jazz number goes, If love ain t there, it ain t there! Sad but TRUE, Alas :( !

boston

Go to Times Square, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, etc.

you cant go wrong with Time Square?unless he s very inpatient.you ll usually find something anyone will like there

Which city would you rather go to? -

This spring break, I cant choose where to go! Either Aspen (Colorado) or Carmel by the Sea (California) Aspen is cold which is good skiing weather, but Carmel is cool. So I am really confused! Which one do you think I should go to? Thanks!!

Go to California.
