Burlington Coat Factory. This is an actual factory store in Fall River Massachusetts. It originaly only sold winter coats and snow wear. Now you can find the stores all over the u.s. Thier coats are great quality and decent prices. Make sure your coat has a water proof outside-and a lined inside. Since you are not used to the cold, it is a good idea to get all the accesories as well. Chicago is very windy, so a scarf tucked into your winter coat would be necessary. a pair of gloves and a hat of course. You can get boots if you think you will be tromping through a bunch of snow, otherwise rain boots and double up on socks will work.in severe weather think about tucking your pants into your socks, or wearing layers of clothes and tucking thermal pants or tights into your socks, under your pants.Check out this website-http://www.ehow.com/how_2307312_dress-co
Most important is that it s windproof. Chicago is really windy (hence the whole windy city moniker) so aim for that. Unless you plan to be outside a whole lot then you don t really need the rest. No boots either cuz everything is plowed/shoveled when it snows (at least in the city). If nothing else, just know that you can always buy the stuff while you re there. (And probably for better prices too)
Chill out (no pun intend)!!!You need a winter jacket, a hat, gloves, and possibly a scarf. Just shop for one in Chicago or get one online. If you wait until you come to Chicago to get a jacket just layer up. Wear a sweater/sweatshirt and a fleece. If it will be really cold wear a long sleeve shirt over a t-shirt and under the rest of the layers. The area is currently in the mid 20s with wind chills reach as low as 15 F. Houston is 46 F with a real feel of 46 F. Enjoy the cold of Chicago.
in Chicago you need special cream because the lake will have so many winds that it will do really really really really bad stuff to yougo to payless and get snow boots there if you want decent pricedreally the best place to by the other stuff is Chicago itself because the things made in TX arent probably made to protect you from a winter in Chicago
i live in australia and i went to the snow in june this yr and it was kinda cold at first but then got really hot so i went round in a singlet and long pants. the sun keeps it warm =]] dont be too fussed about wat to wear just some jumpers and long pants is all u need maybe a skalf oh and u hafta have water proof gloves n shoes... its soo anoying without em.but thats snow in auzzie... prolly diff in chicago.
well im not sure where you can get cheap but good items...but i know that you have to wear a really thick warm snow coat... you said real snow right?i d say to wear at least 6-8 layers...uhm... yess... a scarf would help... gloves would absolutely help! if you want to have a snowball fight, you wouldnt want your hands numb. boots? yes! get long ones but not so high its up to your knees. make sure its comfortable. wear those knitted hats or beanie and you should prolly wear earmuffs...hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!!!
It s not the North Pole. You probably won t need to step farther than your residence to a taxi or public transit. Just have clothing that is warm and waterproof, and maybe a pair of galoshes to protect your shoes.
