Best places in Florida to live? -

Lookin to move to Florida but not really sure what areas are the best. I m lookin for somewhere not too far from things to do, shopping, and pretty close to the beach. not really sure which parts have the best weather too; e.g., parts impacted less by storms...n for now lets just say that $ isnt a prob. Any input?

You need to specify if you mean north or south cause they are completely different. The northern part of the state has a lot of southern roots in it, so if that s your kind of thing then go for it. The south part of Florida has a more SoCal feeling to it. I lived in West Palm Beach when I was younger, and enjoyed it there. I heard Ft Lauderdale is pretty nice too. Miami isn t too bad either, but it s a big city, so take a little pre-caution there.

Coral Gables... so close to Miami (5 minutes), and lots of shopping!, close to the beach and some of the state s best restaurants!

englewood! its a nice little town close to tons of beaches, private and public

Where are good places to live in the U.S? -

Based on what i like where do you think is a good place for me to live? I m a pretty big nature person so i like places that have all seasons i like places that are both hot cold like in the summer let it get really hot! but then again in the fall let the leaves change color and be cold i DON T like places where is rainy all the time the skys all ways unclear dullful..Please thankyou 3

Boise area, Denver area, Dallas-Fort Worth area, or the Salt Lake City area

Michigan is what you just described. In central and northern michigan you get 75-80 degree summers and 10-30 degree winters. 1-3 times every 2 weeks it rains or snows and the trees get pretty colors for a month or 2 in the fall. Sometimes we get dark overcasts that can stay for a couple days though. And don t get worried about the security because of Detroit.

What are the best UK web sites for booking holidays to Disney, Florida? -

We have used City Direct before. Are there any other really good ones that can beat prices and quotes etc?

we have been 3 times to Disney and went to New York this year and all times used a company called attractionticketsdirect.com, they re prices are the best I found online, and believe me when I say I look a lot online for the best deal, they also have a price match so that if you buy them and se them elsewhere cheaper they will refund you the difference.we ahve bought 14 day disney tickets, universal pass, discovery cove, from them, this year we even purchased our New York tickets from them and found no problem at all with them. what we found was some places online send you vouchers that you need to redeem at a booth when there, but this company sends you the actual tickets that you will use there.Good luck finding the best deal and enjoy your holiday there.

You could google UK disney tickets or ask around. You never know who has connections to someone who works at Disney and could get you a good price.

Im going to orlando for the first time...Should I buy my tickets online or wait until I get there? -

Hi everyone. I am currently living in Mexico and me and my girlfriend are going to orlando for the very first time. I want to make our first trip memorable, so I am pretty nervous about getting everything planned. My first question is should I buy theme park tickets online or wait until I reach Orlando? Are there any discounts in Orlando that I might not get online. Also let me explain a little bit about my trip. I will be going from the 9th of January to the 16th, 2010. This is what I have been planning I would appreciate any suggestions. Day 1 (Saturday)- Universal StudiosDay 2 (Sunday)- Island of AdventuresDay 3 (Monday)- Sea World and dinner at Pirate Dinner Adventure. Day 4 (Tuesday)-MGM StudiosDay 5 (Wednesday)- EpcotDay 6 (Thursday)- Magic KingdomDay 7 (Friday)- Should I go to Animal Kingdom or Repeat a Disney Park?Day 8 (Saturday)- Repeat a Disney Park. Im 27 and My girlfriend is 23 and we are both very excited to go. I thank you all for your comments and suggestions. Help me make this the perfect vacation.

You will get a better deal on line for the tickets. Some places charge for shipping, but it is worth it. I will list some sites to visit and you can compare prices. Since you are going to do Universal the best deal is on there web site. Seaworld tickets are cheaper online as well. But since you are looking at only doing one day it will be the same if you purchased at the gate. And as for Animal Kingdom it is a must. Have the tickets delivered to the hotel it is so much easier then remembering them. Since it sounds like you will be staying at a hotel in the middle of everything visit orlando.com or google orlando magic card. It will list hotels that you can get discounts with. Also call the hotel you are interested in staying and ask if they have the magic card discount. If you have AAA then ask about that discount as well. Saved hundreds on hotels with the magic card.

Definitely online it s much cheaper and mor eoptions also if you are also looking for cheap hotels, go to CondoDirect.com I just go my room there for half the price as others and a suite also. Hope this helps

ness300 is right about the deals online. if you get into a package deal that makes everything worthit. I d keep my eyes pealed for tickets, hotel, a meal plans. those are the best because then everyting is prebooked. Especially because your not doing disney the whole 8 days. for 5 days in the park, on the other hand, it may work out better just to get the tickets when you get there. If you get your tickets in Orlando, they will rip you off!!!!!! Remember that its a torrist area. anything you buy down there will be expensive.disney tips::: USE FASTPASS-there free and they help cut the lines.STAY AT A DISNEY RESORT IF POSSIBLE- resort stayers get extra magic hours in the park after none resort stayers leave.IF YOU GET THE MEAL PLAN- you have have enormose portions of food, but you won t have to carry around your wallet because it will be all on your room key. (if you stay on premisis)DON T MISS THE FIREWORKS- they are amazing. they are not just your average fireworks. Definitly go the firework shows. DON T MISS FANTASMIC AT DISNEY S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS- Its an amazing show. Last but not least,HAVE A MAGICAL TRIP!!!!!!

I arrived yesterday with the following planCurrent plan is as follows: * 9th Epcot Centre all day * 10th Hollywood studio all day * 11th Wet and Wild ( may be half day or more ) * 12th Busch gardens Tampa * 13th Magic Kingdom all day * 14th Kennedy space centre ( plans of 12,13 and 14 can be interchanged ) * 15th Universal adventure all day * 16th Universal studio all day * 17th Others: sky dive, airboat etc + shoppingJust did epcot today. Thanks to various advises on the net, there was no crowd today and I am hoping the same for the rest of the week. We walked into mission space and test track with no waiting and could repeat them literally in continuation. As for tickets, I bought the 3 park universal on the net for $125At the hotel lobby there was a lot of bargains as they added pirates show to my disney tickets for half the price and there are a lot of similar packages.Disney tickets are same rate on net, gate and at hotels.( I suggest the 5 day option as they are just $3 more and you have the choice to do some repeats in the evenings on other days especially for the shows )Today being part of the off season, the gates were queue-less.

Definately buy on line! You can find better prices and better to be prepared than have some weird chance of not getting tickets. You re trip sounds like lots of fun! First of all Animal Kingdom is a Disney park and I would go there rather than repeating. It is a great park that has had new editions the past couple of years that make it even better. It May not have as much to do as the other parks, but definately one day s worth. It is a great experience you shouldn t miss out on. Anyway you have another park. You might think about getting park hopper for the last day so you can go see everything you missed. However this would cost a bit more and prevent you from getting a five day pass which would also save you money, so this may not be worth it. Great choice in picking islands of adventure our of the universal parks, it is a lot more fun. Sea World is great! Ride manta! It is so much fun! Have a great trip!

Sounds like a great itinerary. Having been to all of the parks on many different occasions I suggest that you visit the Animal Kingdom instead of repeating another Disney Park. You might be able to get some discounts online. Given the time of year that you are going you might be able to find discounts once you arrive. Check the websites of all the parks to see what they offer for multiple day visits (e.g. Park Hopper). Caution though: make sure that you but tickets from a reputable outlet and beware of people giving big discounts in exchange for participating in a Time Share sales pitch.

Bus or train from Richmond Indiana (Earlham College) to Chicago??!? -

I m looking for a way to get from Richmond Indiana (a small town where Earlham College is located) to either Indianapolis and then a train or bus from there to Chicago, or directly to Chicago. It is a small town so i don t know if they have a train stop, but it is a college town so i thought they might have at least have a bus that could take me to a bigger town and from there to chicago...but i don t know. Any help would be appreciated! Especially if you go to or have gone to EARLHAM COLLEGE!! thanks again!

Greyhound has buses through Anderson, IN about 56 miles away:http://www.greyhound.com/home/ticketcentAmtrak has service from Connersville, IN about 26 miles from Earlham. The bad news is that only one train, The Cardinal, leaves the station at 3:05 AM. It doesn t have daily connections so you ll have to find a date that fits the AMTRAK schedule:http://tickets.amtrak.com/itd/amtrak

Should i move to NYC? -

i live in ri and it is quite boring here. i am finishing high school next year and i want to move to new york. i here it is fast and dirty in the city but from what hollywood makes it look i want to get there what should i do?

Alex, like the say goes, If you can make here, you can make it anywhere. Go with your heart and go for it.Good luck

No - if you move to NYC simply because you re bored, you ll wind up going back home fairly quickly. You don t just up and move to a major city with no firm plan in place especially in this economy. You need to know if you ll have a job, if that job will let you afford to live in NYC and since you haven t finished college, I doubt it will.

Do what your heart tells ya to do man. I mean it s new york. If you can make it there you can make it anywhere.

Apply to a college here and hurry up. Its the capital of the world kid.

if you like it dirty then OK

NYC is one of the best places in the world to be!Its very nice, and u will sure like it. Everyone dreams of being therem ur lucky!

Do you need a beach permit to have a wedding on Galveston Beach in Tx? -

I am having a wedding on the beach and cannot find out if I need a permit or anything. And if I do need one where would I get if from. If anyone knows please tell me, I really need to know.

Yes you do. I just got married on the beach in April and didn t know until about 2 weeks before the wedding that you need a permit. You re right, you can t find any info anywhere, so I called the park board. They told me that if you re just going to stand around, you don t need a permit. If you re going to set up more than 4 chairs you do need a permit. But, the screwed up thing is that there s only one woman who they grant permits to...and she happens to be a wedding planner. So, you ll have to end up going with her if you want to do it the legal way. You can probably get away with not getting one, but I wouldn t want to risk ruining your wedding day. Her name is Connie Claypole and her website is www.islandweddings.org. We just basically rented chairs from her. By doing that, we qualified for the permit, but we didn t need her to be planning our wedding or changing anything up. And you have to rent the chairs anyway, so getting them from her isn t a huge hassle. And she s very nice and accommodating if you tell her you just want the minimum stuff. It might be a bit more per chair, but it s not bad. The only downside is she only does weddings in one location on the beach. It s between Stewart and East Beach, right near the Galvestonian Condos. So, if you ve already planned out another location, you ll have to change your plans. Post back if you have any more questions, and I ll try to check back and answer them. Good luck, and don t worry too much. It all works out in the end, despite the fact that you feel totally frazzled when you find out late in the game that you need a permit.

as far as i know, Nothing is really required except a table for the minister to set up his alter and a number of folding chairs for the guests to sit in.A Galveston Beach Wedding. These are some of my favorites. The Galveston Island State Park is a great place if the weather is agreeable. The pounding of the sea on the beach is an excellent background noise! Cost wise it s the same as number 2. Not expensive yet a very memorable occassion. PLus in Galveston wedding are permitted on the Seawall and many are held at the Seawall Statue across form the San Luis Hotel. Moody Gardens also hosts weddings but the cost is 3-5 times that of a beach wedding and can be rather expensive, but it is a Most Beautiful place for outdoor weddings. The open beach at the San Luis Bridge is also a great spot to have your wedding officiated when the weather is beautiful. There are many other spots on the water in Galveston where a wedding may be officiated! Take a trip to Galveston, and do some sightseeing!

University of Washington. do i have a chance? -

I m a freshman at a high school called West Hawaii Explorations Academy. it s a public charter school that is project-based. A lot of marine science stuff going on. I have been a 4.0 student since 7th grade and have been studying SAT words since 8th grade. My mom is a high school science teacher. I m in geometry, i m taking an after school art class, i m training myself to get on the track team, i read alot, i do community service work, last summer i had a job working at a botanical garden, and i m a good writer. (all of my teachers say so)do I have any chance to get accepted to the University of Washington. and if you have been accepted there or knows someone who has then what grades did you get in high school and what were your SAT scores

University of Washington is in Washington state. This is Travel Washington, DC. You missed your mark by 3,000 miles.Suggest you put this question in education or at least in the Washington state area.We know about the east coast and you are asking about the west coast. Now be a good person and cancel this and place it in it s correct location. This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America. Please pick an answer as the best answer, even if it is not mine.

College is 3+ years away so dont sweat that for now. I think a bigger concern for you is the fact that your school (the so-called West Hawaii Explorations Academy) ironically has done a terrible job of teaching its students the difference between the State of Washington and Washington, DC.

Does the santa monica blue bus stop in or near korean town? if so which line? -

hi i just moved from NY and am going to SMC. l live in k.town and i was wondering from where i can take the blue bus cuz i live in serrano but i dont want to walk 5 block. its not the safest neighborhood. do you guys know a easier way for me to get to pico and labrea? thanks.

sorry no blue bus services k-town (although its in the works (once they get their articulated (bend in the middle)bus they hope to service western and wilshire (which would an exhaustion of line 7)but currently they don t if you are trying to get to smc from k-town you can takethe 720 to wilshire then you can transfer to Santa Monica #11 (runs am/pm peak only)direct to smcand remember that if you have a current smc ID card with current sticker you can ride the blue buses for free)

Perhaps you should tell your story to the person who just asked where to live near Hollywood. We keep telling people not to come here and try to do what you re doing.Short answer: No, the BBB only goes as far as Rimpau Pico. So if you don t mind going a couple miles to get to Rimpau, then you are OK. But as you said, South Serrano isn t the greatest neighborhood (once again proving that there s no such thing as cheap and safe). The only alternative via BBB is to take the Red Line Subway to Union Station, then take Blue Bus #10 to SaMo. But that s really the long way around.
