Can you take a train from chicago to the dells? -

for my sweet 16 i wanna have a party at the wilderness w/ a few friends in wiconsion dells. does a train from chicago take you to the dells and once we get there, what can we take that will get us to our hotal? also, how much do you think this would cost? please help, thank you. (:

Yes, the other person said it right (the one not saying no). You can take amtrak or the bus- greyhound if you want cheaper. Your looking at 33 each way as mentioned, 3.5 hours each way.Adding to what you said, getting around the dells- its a 2.5 miles hike, so walking is out. Your best bet is to call the hotel directly- they should have a shuttle bus for that distance, otherwise, a cab is the only other way- which shouldn t be incredible expensive especially if your sharing cost. 800-867-wild is the number for the hotel.

AMTRAK will get you there on the Empire Builder. It leaves union Station at 2:15 PM and arrives at the Dells at 5:52 PM...from $33.00. Go to the following site and add the date...Chicago = CHI, WI Dells = WDL:http://tickets.amtrak.com/itd/amtrakThere is a variety of buses and a bus from Milwaukee that connects with other AMTRAK trains...the Hiawatha travels to/from Milw and chgo 7 times daily. See below for names of bus lines:http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/tranI could not find a public bus system but there are 3 taxi companies. Scroll down for reviews:http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/NorI would call the hotel and ask for advice.

No, there is no train that will get you to the Dells.

Does it Snow in Mountain View, Califorina? -

I m currently applying for colleges and looking for places to consider a future home!I m from Garden Grove, California and was just wondering on what the weather is like up north.

No it does not snow in Mountain View, it s too close to the coastline. It has a pretty good climate there, not too hot and not too cold in Winter. If you are thinking about a shift there, research the city as much as you can first. There may be other things you ll need to know in addition to the climate. Here s a few websites to get you started:http://www.ci.mtnview.ca.us/http://www.mountainview.net/http://www.city-data.com/city/Mountain-V

It does not snow in Mountain View, California. I have lived her for 15 years and it never snowed once. On really cold winter mornings (such as today) it can get frosty on the grass and roof tops. It is a beautiful place and if you don t mind having no snow then you should really consider living in Mountain View. Also, it doesn t rain that often either. Good luck on finding that home you want!

No it does not snow in Mt View..sometimes on the Mts that surround the Santa Clara Valley..There is snow on Mt Hamilton right now, which is quite pretty..but none on the valley floor.

no it doesn t :/goodluck with the colleges new place :]

What should be first plan of action if car breaks down in englewood chicago and have no phone? -

also if your white, say you get a flat tire driving in wrong area at night

I am a white woman who used to work at a school in englewood and drove there from the north side every day. Yes its a bad area, but not every person on the street wants to knife you. Do what you wpuld do in any bad area, walk to the nearest well lit store, gas station what ever and ask to use the phone. At night? Honestly, there are tons of cops driving around and if they see a white around there they will most likey stop and toss your azz in the car and give you a lecture on common sense, and also most likey check you for drugs. I no longer work there, but lots of people in the community are really trying to better it, their up against tough odds, let s give them our prayeres shalls we? Thansk ps 2nd graders in Englewood are the same as all2nd graders, they love dancing and candy, and will sass you back if you let them haha!

what the hell are you doing in englewood at night? buying drugs? if you know it s a bad area, steer clear of it. a white person in englewood at night, you stick out like a sore thumb. avoid the area all together, sometimes it s better to drive a little further away to avoid the area than to get caught up in it.

1. Say are all you guys on the same team ?2. Ask yourself why you drive down the wrong area at night.3. Have Blugojevich s cronies pick you up for a few grand.4. Break out into dancing like Peter Pan. (draw your own conclusion)5. Tell them you are an undercover cop on a police chase. Did any of you see a suspicious looking dude go by here? I think the real answer is BOHICA.

wow, you re screwed then, maybe a knife or kun-fu for self-defense but that can t beat a gun. I would look for a corner store or gas station that s open and ask if I could use theeir phone.

Everybody will think you broke out of the nearest mental hospital. If you are white, don t go anywhere near there.

Make sure I have my knife on me, which I always do but it s good to check.

ask the next person if they have a phone u can borrow..thats all...

hmmm idk

Columbus, Cleveland Weather in December 2009? -

Visiting Columbus and Cleveland mid December.I d like to know if it s going to snow. Any Winter events to look out for- especially since X mas is around the corner ?

You may get some snow in Cleveland, but usually no more than a few inches (most snow storms don t hit till January). The temperature can be anywhere from 0 or below to 40+. December weather can vary greatly from year to year...Generally its around 30 s. Columbus probably won t see much snow, if any. In my opinion Columbus can seem colder because it tends to be windier than Cleveland...Christmas events in the area, there are probably Christmas plays or concerts, Check ticketmaster or cleveland orchestra website. There s always zoolights at the cleveland or columbus zoo.

We had some snow yesterday, but it was very light. Today was sunny and 48 degrees around 3PM, but it felt nice until you got downtown. Downtown it s always freezing.Last year it did not snow in December. Same for the year before that. It s been colder this year than the last two so it might snow, but I don t know. According to the Weather Channel, for the next week the temperature will be from 30-45 degrees and mostly rain.. =] Hope this helps.

Don t miss our FREE Christmas Light show. It s at Ghostly Manor Thrill Center 3319 Milan Rd. Sandusky, OH You sit in your car and listen to 5 Christmas songs that dance to over 75,000 lights. (Channel 99.7) for more info call 419-626-4467.As for the weather, it changes everyday and some times from minute to minute. Like today it s 38 degrees in the morning but it s sunny and feels nice. Tomorrow it s going to rain, so it will be bone chilling. I suggest layer. :)

Besides gambling, what is there to do in vegas? -

thanks.

Penn and Teller is the best thing that ever happened to Vegas- go see their show, it s amazing. There are also tons of other shows and if you go out walking during the day you can find people handing out discount vouchers. Also, go to the old Vegas strip Freemont Street. It s all the Vegas cliches in one place plus a giant overhead, tunnel-shaped TV screen that plays a show every hour. You can get deep fried cookies, $6 Prime Rib dinners, beer in a giant plastic cup that you have to drink with a crazy straw and see the best Prince Impersonator anywhere. Back near the big hotels, you can go shopping- there s even an actual mall, but all the hotels have shops and the shopping areas have the theme of the hotel--especially visit The Venetian Hotel to see the replica indoor Venice Italy complete with canals. There are art exhibits sometimes and other events going on in the hotels all the time. There is a wax museum, among other museums that range from kitsch to fine art. There are night clubs and lounges, coffee bars, strip clubs. Check out the Beatles Revolution Cafe/night club--it has this incredible interactive video wall.Visit the desert nearby if you have time.

Shows - there is a show for everyone in Vegas. Some good ones include the Cirque shows, Penn Teller, Lance Burton, Blue Man Group, Jersey Boys, Phantom....but there are many more.Shopping - there are high end shops at the Grand Canal Shops in Venetian and the Forum Shops at Caesars, a mix of high end and more typical mall stores at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, and a big typical mall near Treasure Island (Fashion Show Mall).Rides - there is a great roller coaster at NYNY and some crazy rides on top of StratosphereStratosphere - the restaurant at Stratosphere is a bit pricey, but pretty neat. It is at the top and it revolves. The view from the top is also amazing, and it s fun to watch people on the rides.Maddam Tussaud s Wax Museum at Venetian is really coolThere are clubs everywhere, and some fun bars too. Carnaval Court, Toby Keith s Bar Grille, and Piano Bar are worth checking out at Harrah s, and NYNY has Coyote Ugly and another piano bar.Check out the sights on the strip. All of the hotels have something unique about them, and I like wandering around and looking at everything.Free shows on the strip - Bellagio Fountains, Mirage volcanoes, Pirate show at Treasure IslandOther attractions include the Conservatory inside Bellagio, the lion exhibit at MGM, Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, and the Secret Garden Dolphin Habitat at Mirage.

Prospecting; horseback riding; off-road racing; sight-seeing; dining in world class restaurants; greatest shows in the business; all the great comedians, singers dancers; animal acts; like a circus every night. There is hiking and back-packing in the desert.Use you imagination. What do you want to do? You can find it in Vegas. You can bet on it.

Away from the tourist area of Strip is a regular city but on Strip there is lots (see www.lasvegasnow.com which is TV8 web)Madame Tussauds Wax MuseumShark ReefHordes of shows like 6 cirque, Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys, LeReve, Tournament of Kings dinner show, Lance Burton, Blue Man Group, Terry Fator, and moreLas Vegas Springs Preserve101 story ride to top of Stratosphere to see entire valley (esp sunset) and 3 scarey ridesForum Shops with 2 free anatronic statute showsSigfried Roys Secret Garden

There are tons of things to do while visiting Vegas, all sorts of great restaurants and attractions! Check out http://www.VegasMadeEasy.com for a full guide of all there is to do in Vegas!

The Aria Hotel at City Center in Vegas - is it a good one? -

I haven t been following all the new developments on the strip... I m considering staying there. I believe it d just opened. How s the room/casino/shopping compared to the leaders such as the Wyne/Encore, Bellagio and Venetians? Thanks! Thanks much!

Aria will be the best of the best in Vegas. It hasn t opened yet but will be opening on the 16th of December. It is a 5 star hotel, just like Wynn and Bellagio. It s the place to stay if you are going to Vegas. They have online specials for $159 /night plus a $75 resort credit. Here is more information and the promotion code.http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/aria-lasvAdditional: banananose usually gives good answers to questions on this board but she is so wrong this time around.ARIA has a casino with more than 150,000 square feet of gaming area which includes over 80 table games.

Aria opens to the public on Wednesday, December 16th.It has a large casino, several restaurants, bars, and a nightclub. The target market is similar to Wynn/Encore, Bellagio, Venetian/Palazzo, but not quite as high-end all around because to fill up they also need people who are more used to staying at places like Mandalay Bay, Caesars Palace, and The Mirage.Nobody really knows yet if it will be any good or not - some people are predicting it will be the greatest thing ever, some people think it will be the biggest joke ever. We won t really know for sure for about 6 months.

Aria is very great hotel with five stars and one of the newest hotel projects (in the new City Center). The hotel is opening December 16th and I think you will have a pleasant stay because it is brand new. When you decide to go there make sure to check the latest Aria promotion offers. With these offers you can get rooms from $159 which is very good for such a hotel. Check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com/categ for the latest Aria promo codes.

I ve checked out their web sites and all three new properties (Aria, Vdara, Mandarin Oriental) are top level luxury resorts that are competing with Wynn/Encore, Bellagio, Venetian/Palazzo, Four Seasons and Trump.Aria is the only one of the three that has a casino though.

Aria is a boutique hotel and wonderful but there is NO casino while Wynn and Venetian are fantastic hotels with an attached casino. Personally I would chose a hotel where I can walk easily to a casino and restaurants

You can read about this hotel hereAria Resort Casino Las Vegas http://hotels.americacheaphotels.com/Hot

No one knows. No one has stayed there at Aria.

Boston, who are you voting for on Tuesday? -

I m voting for Capuano

I m voting for Martha. In fact, I changed my votor registration (in part) to do so. I like Capuano, but I like him right where he is, as a member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. Particularly on the Transit subcommittee. Boston is so dependent on transit that we NEED someone there. Without Mike, there is only one remaining New England member from any party on that committee.

Coakley Capuano are doing great at their current jobs so I m voting for Khazei.

I don t know yet. Probably Capuano but Khazei is also a possibility.

Where s Mitt Romney when you need him...

Im thinking of moving closer to my boyfriend in Manchester, NH...? -

we met at college and now that we ve graduated he had to move back home. I don t like where i live which is near Dallas, TX so i ve decided to move there to be with him. I ve never even been even close to NH but i ve always wanted to live in a northern state. I m a lil scared it ll be too different from what i m used to and won t like it. Can anyone who lives there or near there tell me how you like it and what the people are like? Also is there anything to do there?? Thanx!

I recently moved from California to windham nh its a couple towns south of Manchester. I frequently visit Manchester because the mall there is better and they have more things to do. As for the people here they are all pretty friendly. Manchester is one of the bigger towns and you will see a lot of people from Massachusetts crossing the border for tax free shopping. As far as things to do, eh. I noticed that people here are more close knit because of the lack of things to do. I could be wrong since I have only been here a couple months. I don t know how diverse Texas is, but you will not see a lot of that here. At first I experienced a major culture shock and was not used to it, but I soon found out that a lot of the people here are relatively friendly. Different from what I was used to, you bet. Manchester over all is a nice town to live in because proximity wise, you are close to many things. That could also be a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It is also really cold out here! New Hampshire in general is a nice place to live at if you really like nature due to its diverse collection of trees, lakes, mountains, and open spaces. If you miss the city though, you are not too far away from Boston. Manchester is not really deep into the belly of New Hampshire and it is not too bad of a drive to Boston. The thing that I like about living in NH is that I could visit other states, Massachusetts, Canada, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, New York, and other places but these are the places that I went to already. They are a drive, but drivable. I remember back in California, all I went to were places in California, like San Francisco or Los Angeles. goodluck with your decision

i live 90 miles from manchester in portland, maine...well new hampshire and all of new england is a paradise especially if you like the outdoors-- NH has the biggest mountains in the east(mt washington and the presidential range), it has the ocean, and some pretty cool towns..i wouldnt pick manchester to live in though-- portsmouth is a really cool small coastal city and so is portland maine--you should talk him into moving to one of those
