For hialeah, miami residents.....? -
When is the best time to see snow in north georgia? -
I d say best chance would be January. That seems to be when we get snow (IF ANY AT ALL). Although last year Atlanta got snow once in March, but nothing in January. If you are gong to make a road trip to see snow you are better off traveling to Asheville, NC to see it or if you can the western side of Virginia near Lynchburg. You have a better chance of seeing snow there than you would in Georgia or north Georgia.
Actually, we ve had snow in March...and only in March for the last two years in Atlanta. However, if you re looking specifically for snow, just head up to the North Georgia mountains in Feb. You should see some, depending on how long you stay. Your best bet though, is get a plane ticket to Cleveland OH. You ll never want to see snow again.
Anytime from Novembere to March but it is not very often. Check the weather before you go- North Carolina is just across the border and has higher mountains where there would be a better chance of snow. Your best bet is January and February.
It rarely snows in Georgia. If you want the best chace of seeing snow this winter you ll need to travel up into western North Carolina.
Would it be possible for me to have my own 1 bedroom apartment somewhere in Brooklyn? -
It ll be tight, but it should be possible. I d recommend going for an apartment with a roommate. I think you can get your own room in a nice apartment in a nice neighborhood, for around $700-800.I d suggest an area like Kensington - good area, pretty safe, very diverse, right near trains and prospect park!
No shot...living (in general) in NYC is expensive. Rent alone can knee cap you--especially on minimum wage. Even a 1 bedroom apartment in a crappy neighborhood can be a pretty penny. I strongly advise not to do it
Possibly, but you would most likely not enjoy the neighborhood. There are some dangerous places in B Klyn...
Absolutely not. Your going to have to get another job at least, or find a few really savvy roommates.
Not unless you go on welfare and live in the ghetto. I know people do live that way but its not very good.
How realistic is this plan? -
new york is a VERY expensive place to live. especially for someone right out of university. i guess it depends how much money you have right now. you ll need to have enough money for food, rent and transportation for the first couple months while you get settled with a new job. Also, those places you listed in where you want to live are some of the most expensive in NYC.what you have here is pretty much the suburban teen dream life. i think it will take you a lot more time to make enough money to be able to do activities in NYC and to travel. even if your not staying in luxurious hotels, air fair to these places will be KILLER. unless you have a lot of money right now to start you off or will be making a ton of money in this job that you want, i think your going to have to lower your standards and quite a bit. my brothers friend moved to NYC to go to one of the universities there and even though he still has a job that pays well, he is having a very difficult time there. ha had the same type of plan as you and today he finds himself in a cheap, bad part of the city barley getting by (and hes already paid all of his university tuition!).maybe it ll be different for you since you ll be looking for a full time job, but i think you will probably have to start out in a cheaper area in NYC for a while.good luck anyways :)
this is the same EXACT plan that i have for the future! im also 19,college student, female though and i already live in new york... there is nothing unrealistic about it, hope it ll all work out for u! =)
Well if you work hard it will happen. NYC is an expensive city so don t limit your options only to NYC (gotta pay off college right?). Heck life is too short to wonder if things are possible..go out and make them happen! Just look how fast this past semester went! Good luck buddy.
Well, you had me. I was all sympathetic towards your plan and ready to help you out, till I got to the part about how you were going to live here till you got married and then leave! WHY? Why move here just to leave?!?You know, people on this site are sometimes down on people like me who moved to the City from elsewhere. (This is the only place I ve encountered that attitude, btw.) While I think it s fine to move here from elsewhere if you intend on staying here and becoming part of the fabric of the City, I have no sympathy for people who come here, planning only to stay a few years. Don t bother! NYC is not a frat house, where you can come to grow up! It s a real place made up of serious people, who really want to be a part of the City. I moved here over 30 years ago and made a life for myself here. I got married here and am raising my kids here. I have an interest in what happens in this City. If you are only going to come here until your real life begins, why come here at all? I just don t understand this attitude!
! and 2 are easy. 3 is the kay to this whole scenario. If you can do that all the rest of parts 4,5,6 and 7 are do-able. I would not venture to plan past that. In case you have not heard, the job market is tough and you will be competing against experienced people in your field. By the way, what is your field?
Does anyone live In California??? IF yes then where? -
Merced, near where Castle AFB used to be.
