I assume you ve decided not to use Amtrak from Washington Union Station, leaving your car in their garage? That would be the simplest.I ve used Metropark several times and can recommend it. It s an easy exit from the Garden State Parkway. The garage charges about $10 per day and it s safe to leave your car there overnight--many people do.I ve also used the ferry, leaving my car at Port Imperial/Weehawken and taking the New York Waterways ferry for a day trip into Manhattan. There was a large parking lot, but I m not sure about leaving your car there overnight. There is a bit of driving from the highway to get there, I recall.
The link below can help u. Good luck!
