What is the best way to get into nyc? take a train from metropark or drive to weehawken and take the ferry? -

My boyfriend and I are taking a trip to New York City in a couple of weeks and we are trying to figure out the most hassle-free way to get there. We are coming from Virginia and are trying to figure out whether to park at the Metropark and take a train to Penn Station or if we should drive to Weehawken and take a ferry. Our hotel is in Times Square, and I know that the ferry docks near there but I just don t know about the traffic in Weehawken. Any suggestions?

I assume you ve decided not to use Amtrak from Washington Union Station, leaving your car in their garage? That would be the simplest.I ve used Metropark several times and can recommend it. It s an easy exit from the Garden State Parkway. The garage charges about $10 per day and it s safe to leave your car there overnight--many people do.I ve also used the ferry, leaving my car at Port Imperial/Weehawken and taking the New York Waterways ferry for a day trip into Manhattan. There was a large parking lot, but I m not sure about leaving your car there overnight. There is a bit of driving from the highway to get there, I recall.

The link below can help u. Good luck!

i would drive i mean really

You can park at the Metropark Station, which is located on NJ Transit s Northeast Corridor Line. You can take NJ Transit commuter trains from there to Penn Station. The trip take about 40 minutes and the one way fare will cost you $8 a person ($16 round trip per person).Parking at the Metropark station, which is located in the Township of Iselin, will cost you about $9 for a 24 hour period.Times Square about 8 block north of Penn Station. You can either walk to Times Square or take the subway. If you re taking the subway, the quickest route is by taking the 7th Avenue line (Red Line on the subway map) Penn Station to Times Square. The one way fare on the subway is $2.25 a person ($4.50 for 2). However, if you in town for a week or two you can purchase a weekly or 14-day unlimited ride MetroCard and ride the subway system for the entire week, or 14-day, for one price. The 7-day unlimited ride pass will cost you $27 a person, while the 14-day pass will cost you $51.50 a person.I hope this information is very helpful.Good luck and happy holidaysNative New Yorker
