Where do most tour buses pick people up from in Los Angeles? Where should i stay? -

We are coming from Australia, and want to stay somewhere safe, that is easyf or us to get to disney land, dodgers stadium, universal studio, warner brothers all the tourist stuff, where is easy to get to and from, if we stay on newport or laguna beach would tour buses even com down that way to take us places or do e need to get to hollywood? i read it isn t safe to stay in hollywood?

Since LA is so spread out, there is no single place that is close to EVERYTHING. Most people who come here tend to stay in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Anaheim. In Hollywood, I recommend the Orchid Suites, Hollywood Celebrity Hotel, or Holiday Inn Walk of Fame, all near Hollywood and Highland. Another one is the Best Western Sunset Plaza. In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced. In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn. There is also a nice place in Burbank called the Best Western Media Center, very close to Warner, NBC, and Universal Studios. The tour busses will NOT go to Newport or Laguna. You d have to rent a car and drive on the right side of the road to drive the 50 miles (80 km) to Hollywood. Hollywood isn t as glitzy as people think. Nor is it as horrible as some people think. You ll meet your share of characters to be sure, but it s not bad in the area around Hollywood Highland. And that s where the tourist busses are based. From there, you can take the Red Line Subway to Universal or downtown LA.Have fun!

Many tour buses pick up from the hotels near the L.A. Airport. I once stayed near the airport and had Grayline Tours pick me up. The Sheraton near L.A. Airport is the place I stayed. They have all the amenities you could want plus the tour pick up. I had no problems whatsoever on my trip to Los Angeles.

Is downtown Las Vegas a safe place to live? -

Specifically, the area around Las Vegas Blvd. and Fremont St. I don t have a car and would using public transportation too.

It is probably the worst place you could live in Vegas. Someone once told me that the closer you are to the stratosphere, the more unsafe it is. Which is true, I ve lived in Vegas for almost 2 in a half years and downtown is where a lot of crime occurs. Basically, anything near UNLV is ghetto. The south side of town is A LOT more safe. Where I live, near CSN-Henderson campus, there is no crime at all. I searched for police reports near my address and there was 0 activity for 6 months.

No. Adafa is correct, but there are also scary white people. Let s not pick on race here people. Downtown is a scary place with scary people, no matter what their race. Alot of homeless, drug addicts, high crime. The location you describe is one of the worst in the city. Are you a college student, or just vacationing here? If you are looking to move here, make sure that you pull up a copy of the CAT system bus map first, and try to find an apartment along the line. The south part of the valley is very close to all the action on the strip, and the bus ride is a direct shot. If you will be working in the downtown area, then make sure that you find housing either on the West side or East side. Both are older areas, but close to downtown, and safer to live than downtown. No place is 100% safe, but just stay away from the immediate downtown area...not safe for a nice white boy, assuming you re nice.

Outside of the tourist part of Downtown it can be very dangerous. A lot of muggings happen there. It is not as well protected as the area around the Strip. If you want, you can live on the strip but pay a hefty price. There are some rentals and high end condos along it. It is best to have a car as Vegas is not that easy to get around using public transportation, at least in my opinion.

North LV isn t that great. anything around MLK is pretty much ghetto but past it is the newer side of north town. I honestly think you re better off staying away from downtown or the strip.

Not the greatest place to live. There are other better places with CAT public transportation.

North Las Vegas is worst the South Vegas for sure!!! You just have to be careful of your surroundings!

noo downtown is really ghetto and theres scary black people!
