Moving to another state and potential issues? -

I am looking to move to another state entirely. The issue I have is, that I don t necessarily know how to apply for a job or apply for residency at an apartment in a state/city I don t live in. I can t really drive the many hours in one day it would take to get to the place I m looking to go to for an interview, and then drive back, and then pack up an go, that would be almost ridiculous. Is there a better way? Or is that the only true way to do it?

I ve done this 3 times in the last 5 years for college and work...here it is:1. send out resumes--look up that cities newspaper online and look for jobs to send resumes to-or you can use Monster.com or anything like that2. look on craigslist for apartments--make appointments to go view the apartments at the same time you schedule job interviews--assuming someone calls you for one3. wait and see--lastly--you DO have to go to your new city--get a hotel and stay overnight for a couple nights if you have to--remember you should be scheduling as many interviews as you can and looking at as many aprtments as you can--plus you need to check out the new neighborhoods and find out which is right for you..put it this way--I flew to denver 2 times in a 4 week span from new york for 4 job interviews and to look at about 15 apartments..if you want this to happen thats the only way to do it

Idk the places its snowing and i like knowing stuff (: So.. is it snowing in any places in ohio

No. Snow showers are predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday. Please be advised that weather forecasts in Columbus are accurate four hours in advance and two hours in arrears. For about two hours afterward, they are pretty confident they know what happened, then all the data comes in and they are confused again. If you Google weather columbus ohio you can have access to several weather services.

Cabin Rentals in Big Bear, CA? -

What s a good website to find cabins in Big Bear, CA online? Thanks :)

I wouldn t put down a Yahoo search at all. Years ago, I searched for Big Bear vacation rentals , and came up with a wealth of info. We rented a rather nice house for the weekend, and it s one of our favorite memories. The places that the others mentioned are good. You can also search for Golden Bear cottages. My favorite place to stay was at the Escape Condominiums and the Summit Condominiums, right at the base of Snow Summit. You can ski right to your condo.

rim of the world . com Realtyhttp://www.rimoftheworld.com/andrim of the world . net (real life residents site)http://www.rimoftheworld.net/You can call Bear Manor Cabins at 909-866-6800. The owner is an ROTW (Rim of the World) member and he has nice units. If he can t help you he will steer you to someone who can.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Golden West Hotel in San Diego? -

How was it? I m visiting and I need a place to stay.

Dodgy. And more expensive than it really looks. You ll end up eating out on every meal since there is no kitchenette. The long term stayers buy their own microwave or hot plate and cause black out nearly every night right around 8-9:30 PM when they cook dinner (they have wiring issues there. The place was built in 1912 or so and is a historic building). The rooms haven t got any tv (if you buy your own you can get some good cable channels, tho. There s a big flat screen in the lobby that s almost always tuned to some action movie), or refrigerator or Wifi access. You have to pay $5 to activate the room phone to call out. The pay phones in the lobby are in claustrophobic booths you can hardly squeeze into (much less closing the door). No ice machine, tho some soda/coffee/candy vending machines in lobby area. No on-site laundry room either. There s a laundromat next door that s just as dodgy and costs at least $2.50 for a load. There s one elevator... with capacity for 3 skinny people. Most definitely for someone claustrophobic. The small rooms that go for $150/wk are really small. Just enough room for a twin bed, a sink, a chair, and a small dresser and that s it. You can sit on the bed and touch the dresser on the other side of the wall with your foot. No toilet in your room. Have to use communal toilet and bathroom/shower at the end of the hall. The large rooms that go for $190/wk are bigger and come with own bathroom. The only perk is the once a week maid service (to clean the room and give you fresh towels). Oh, and they have serious bug problem. Cockroaches everywhere along with bed bugs. The staff are nice, but they ve got some dodgy residents there, too. Bottom line: I wouldn t recommend it if you can find other place. If you ll be here for a week or more, try the Baltic Inn, Island Inn, J Street Inn (all three own by http://www.affordablehousingsd.com/balti ). They cost more on paper (around $165/wk), but they are clean, have on-site laundry, free Wifi access, cable tv, refrigerator, microwave, and much less dodgy residents. You ll end up paying less since you can cook in the room and keep stuff in fridge. If you plan on staying a month or longer, Arlington Hotel at 7th and G ( (619) 231-2385) is not bad, also.

What are some plants that are commonly found near quot;poundersquot; beach in Oahu Hawaii? -

For my hawaiian class I get extra credit if I can name some of the plant around this beach. Is anyone familiar with the area? I can t find anything on the internet!

Nau paka is the green ground cover with half a flower. And the trees are coconut and iron wood.

Anything open in Seattle on Dec 26? -

New Years Eve Seattle? -

What s the best way to get from Seattle to Kent via public transportation after the new years celebration. I ll probably be leaving downtown Seattle around 12:30-1. Should I take the Sound Transit or King County Metro. I m not about to pay for a cab. Any ideas. I don t want to be on a bus all night either.

Keep in mind it s after Midnight on a holiday. Buses will be on limited routes, probably won t run late. Best bet would be a taxi.

sound transit.
