Which one of these states is better to live in and continue my education? -

I plan on going to medical school and my choices of state are Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, New Westminster, BC, Phoenix, AZ, Lombard, IL, Toronto, Canada, and Bridgeport, CT. I am a city girl and have lives in CA most of my life. I have never been far away from family. This is going to be a scary thing for me. I am in a serious relationship as well. Which one of this place is safe and beautiful? I plan on visiting home once a month, but I would like to keep myself occupied as well while I am not studying. I am into nature and art, but I also like to go out and socialize. Thank you very much in advance.

My husband is from SoCal and he loves Seattle. If you dont mind rain, its close enough for cheap flights and I hear it is amazing and the people are cool. Same could be said for Portland, which is a bit closer. Both these places are beautiful. Some people find rain depressing, so if you are one of those you might reconsider. Another close choice would be Phoenix. Now, I know lots of people that love it and it is within driving distance so you can come home as much as you like. You just have to ask yourself if hot weather and the desert are cool with you. The desert and heat can be awesome, and I like them. The people are great there too. Its a little smaller so it might not be as scary. Your other choices are not really logically close enough to go home very often without spending lots of cash. Although if you wanted a real adventure far away...Toronto is an awesome city. It is very clean beautiful and friendly.

Dont leave california. california has alot of good medical schools including the long list of UC. If you were to leave i would say oregon. The trees and scenery are the most beautiful things i have ever seen. Arizona isnt very user friendly in the summer, and i havent met very nice people there...

My vote is absolutely on Portland, OR... because of how close it is to California and it is sooo beautiful there and has a strong art culture as well... my second choice would be Seattle if you don t mind rain... but those fit what you are looking for in culture and in distance convenience...

Is there MAC store in Chicago duty free? -

I don t know what you want to buy, but check prices on the internet first. Are you looking for cosmetics? The MAC cosmetic website drives me crazy, but Sephora and Ulta are not as confusing. If you re looking for a MAC computer, I can t help you. MAC tools, ditto.

Is there a reception site in cleveland that will let me bring my own caterer to the reception? -

I don t know of any in the area anymore. Why not ask your caterer if s/he knows of any? Maybe they ve worked privately at various reception sites around town. Or look for a hall that you can simply rent out as if you re bringing your own food - like the Knights of Columbus halls or the Eagles Lodge, etc. Let your fingers do the walking through the Yellow Pages!

Where is the best place to live in the U.S? -

Any very little crime is also important

Oregon is pretty sweet. No sales tax, beautiful scenary, nice people. etc. It s pretty mild all year long too.

I live in atlanta also, and i dont like it very much! i dont like the souther sterotype that comes along with the south. And you will probably think this sounds crazy, but alaska! there is alot of hiking and stuff to do there, and its so pretty outside, with the mountains and lakes. And there is a good sense of community there, since not so many people live there. If you arent intereseted in the cold weater so much, i would say seattle?

cupertino or san rafael in CA are great communities. The weather isn t very drastic, theres are tons of hiking paths and activities to do. I know for sure that cupertino has an excellent school district, and I m pretty sure san rafael does too. Also I heard San Diego CA has a lot of lovely communities; but the weather is pretty warm all year.

Every time my family and i go into NY we see someone famous it great. Last time I was in the city I saw Melissa Etheridge. I was like feet away from her walking down the street. The time before that we saw Raven Samon.

Where to go on a California road trip? -

I might be interested in taking a road trip through all of california (north tip to south tip or vice versa) to take photos. I know I want to go to the well known places (San Fran, Disneyland, LA, Hollywood, the Redwood forest, etc.) but I want to go to lesser known places as well. So, where do you recommend I visit?

Muir WoodsPoint Reyes National SeashoreLake TahoeYosemite NPMonterreyBig SurDeath Valley NP Mono Lake (it has all sorts of evaporite towers made from the dessicating lake)rock formations near Mammoth LakeSan DiegoWine CountryChannel Islands NPJoshua Tree NP

go to a little town called springville. it s close to the sequoia national forest. it s very historical there, almost like a ghost town. worth seeing.

Is a helicopter tour of New York still good without the Twin Towers? -

hi, i ve been looking at helicopter tours of New York City, to finish of my 12 month tour of the world. I ve seen a great deal on www.theitchmag.com, but wanted to make sure it s worth doing now the Twin Towers aren t there. Anyone done it recently?

I have never been on a helicopter tour, but I can tell you that it will still be a fantastic tour, even if the World Trade Center is not in the picture. Manhattan has one of the best skylines in the world, in my opinion, and there is so much to see: the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, and all the other main attractions when one comes to this magical city. Even though the World Trade Center is not here, it will still be a fantastic tour, and you will enjoy it either way.All the best ?

I can t say that i ve done it personally but my buddy did go on a heli tour just last year i think and he had nothing but good things to say so i d say if ya got the moneys to toss around it can t hurt. I think flying in a helicopter anywhere would probably be good times, i d go for it.

Yes you still have the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building and the Statue of Liberty. An aerial view captures the beauty and strength of New York City.

Yes! They are fun and exhilarating. Try looking into these too ..http://www.citysightsny.com/category.php

It s awesome. By all means do it.

Best way to get from penn station to jfk airport in the winter? -

Take the E train (or the LIRR, your choice, but the LIRR is more expensive) to Jamaica Station and from there pick up the AirTrain (monorail) which will take you to your terminal. If you re going to deal with a lot of luggage a taxi might be easier but there may be traffic issues.
