Yo, whats there to do in NYC on New Years Eve for a 19 yr old. All the clubs are 21+? -

I m on leave from military life for the holidays and want to party in NYC, I m from upstate and have no clue about the city. I checked the internet and all i ve found is clubs for 21 and over only.

i spent new years in nyc when i was 20 and there s not much to do unless you get a fake id. i would find a friend who s 21 and pay them to go to the DMV and get an extra one. the bouncers at most places wont know or wont care, as long as the id shown to them says youre 21.

Eden Downtown NYC is the perfect party for you! The party is 18+ for everyone to enter. You can get tickets and all the information at http://newyearsplans.com/nyc-eden.html

http://www.newyears.com/Events/ShowEvent.aspx?eventId=2036Events in: Manhattan Eden Downtown New York City s ONLY 18 Over New Year s Eve 2010 Event General Admission $65 Seated VIP $135 Ultra VIP Table $165 Platinum VIP Table $175 General Admission After 12:30 $40 buy now Have a good one!

Webster Hall, a famous nightclub in the East Village, throws big parties on New Years, and they are 19+. They re relatively expensive though, and they fill up, so register online.

Hmmm... if you get an apartment and wait a couple of years, there s plenty that you can do. Until then.... well... not so much.

MIAMI New Years Eve? -

Hey guys--including all of you Miami socialites and party goers--I need your help here: what are some places in Miami to spend an exciting 2009-2010 New Years Eve? I m not looking for anything particularly crazy--just something genuinely Miamian for a first time visitor from New York. Thanks in advance for your answers! ~

Miami, Miami, Miami. So much to do so little time. There s WAYYY too much to do that I can t list it all. Really just pick between Miami, Miami Beach, or both (Miami is only a bridge away from Miami Beach) Miami and Miami Beach is number one for New Years and New Years Eve, we even have a Ball Drop (We call it the Orange Drop lol) I don t think it s as huge as the NYC one but it s very amazing and spectacular. Honestly you can t go wrong with either Miami or Miami Beach and like I said you can go to both, but traffic is going to be crazy. What that other person said is also true, but Downtown Miami is also HUGE for New Years and Eve. Either way you can t go wrong. Enjoy New Years in Miami, I know you will love it. Guaranteed.

i dont think I would go to miami i live in west palm beach florida all know thats good to spend a new years eve is city place its beautiful with all the christmas lights another good thing about it is that you dont need to pay to go in there, theres ALOT of shopping places theres even a theater to go to

miami star island, idk but am going to move there pretty soon, now please answer my question its about Miami trying to find a good place for living.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AimJMDEsfk0MfGuEveAovW7sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091207184608AA5WzROplezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Anyplace along Ocean Drive, Collins or Washington Ave. The police close Ocean Drive above 5th St. It becomes a giant outdoor party.

You probably want to put this under Homework Help or Sociology as this is for US travel.

Cheapest flights to Cali from East Coast? -

I am traveling from east coast to college search (either April or Feb.) When is the best time of the week to get good prices? Which airline is the best for its price? I am staying with family, so hotels are not an issue. PLEASE HELP ME OUT SO I BOOK, THIS SUCCESSFULLY. THANKYOU.

Between which cities, please. That is rather important to know.Edit: Thanks for the cities. Bradley field turns out to be a reasonable place to fly from. For a flight from Feb 11 to Feb 18, I found these prices:. . . . . . Multiple American Delta Northwest Continental United. . . . . . Airlines Airlines 1 stop. . .$337. . . $355. . .$360. . . .$360. . . $378. . . .$3812+ stops.$381. . . $460. . .. . . . . . . .$659. . . $418. . . .$424You could do a bit better on the price, probably, if you left, say, Feb 8, or after Feb 18 or 19, since the time between is when many schools are on break (what a coincidence, huh?)I used www.kayak.com to get these results. Prices between most airlines were not that different (but US Airways, which I did not list, were significantly higher). Kayak does provide a fare history chart (look on the left side of the page for the link), so you can see what the prices have been doing in the past, and some projections for the future. That may help you in deciding when to book the flight.I do not know if prices will be higher if you wait until January, say, to make these reservations, or if they will be lower. Air fares change frequently, so, I would check them often, and buy them when they are at a price that is OK with you, and don t worry about the price after that.I did not look at April flights, but it is easy to do from the kayak site. From within the price group that you find reasonable, I would choose the flight the fits your specific dates and departure times best.Airline service can vary enormously within the same airline, the same day, depending on what kind of issues you run into, if any, and who happens to be on duty at the time.Good luck - hope you have a good time in San Diego - it will be a nice change in Feb. from the weather in Hartford.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

I searched on this site and got the Cheapest Flight, check it out,it also had discount coupon codes for expedia,orbitz,travelocity,kayak,pricelihttp://freetravel4ever.blogspot.com

Use Orbitz or Kayak to compare prices. They may not list JetBlue, however, which can be cheaper.

What places must i go see with my friend in Philidelphia (NOT historical!)? -

my friend is in town and i want to take her to philly like places but i just moved up here myself so i don t know what those places are.we are highschool girls where can we go?

Eastern State Penitentiary It s on 22nd and Fairmount. http://easternstate.org/visit/special.phPennslanding This is probably funner in the summer but it s still a fun place if you like to walk along the waterfront and look at the different ships.South Street -you ll probably like this place best. Go on Friday night or the weekend. You ll see a lot of guys your age there.Philadelphia Art museum-I don t know if this is historical to you but I love the Art museum. Franklin Institute-Fun science stuff. Really interesting. To hang out-The Gallery. (a lot of stores) Is the gallery still open? It s 10th and Market. I m not sure if it s still there, though.Italian Market is okay but go to Pat s or Geno at 9th and Wharton. Famous cheesesteak places. They re right across the street from each other. It can get really crowded. And there are a lot of coffee houses and quaint shops in that Italian Market area. Fairmount Park is a nice place.

Italian Market is a good answer also go down south street the night. Sushi on 2nd at South, burger at Johnny Rockets, cheesesteaks... theres more than just bars. Maybe Reading terminal for breakfast or lunch then go shopping around there, walk down to the gallery?

also, the philly zoo is great ...just take a take a taxi as it is in west philly

Try the Italian Market section in South Philly or Fairmount Park.

Has anyone here done the supercar life experience in las vegas? -

This is a private track where you pay for a specified amount of time in one of the worlds many supercars. Like a ferrari f430, aston martin, or porsche 911 carrera. I wanted to see if anyone has done this and how was it?

That would be awesome.. so you rent the car from them or an exotic rental place?i found that renting one can be from $800 to $2,000 for a weekend but maybe for spin around the track how much? this is interesting...get a photo of you in the car too.

i was just at those races thursday never done it but they are cool

Moving from pa to texas? -

im almost 20, and im sick of living in a rural area and all the snow in the winter. im considering moving to texas, not really sure where specifically, but its a lot warmer, and im fine with living in a small place and getting a crappy job for a while. i dont know anyone there, so i d have to start whatever on my own, not really sure where to start. think this is a good idea?ive been working since i was 17, 2 years of college, and i have some savings. thoughts?

Dallas and Houston are too big, Dallas gets tornados in the summer and freezes in the winter, and Houston is sticky in the summer and gets nasty rain anytime there s a hurricane. Traffic in both places really sucks and the cost of living is higher.San Antonio is the place to move. The job market is spectacular compared to any major US city right now, gas prices are unusually dirt cheap compared to the rest of the country, rents are very reasonable, and you can enjoy living in a big city without the hassle. It s far enough south that the weather is warm most of the year, but far enough from the coast that it doesn t turn into a disaster area every time there s a hurricane. If you don t want the big city scene, try San Marcos between Austin and SA. It s a nice little town but if you want to go explore the city, it s only an hour away. San Antonio is a very safe city. It is probably the only major US metro where you can see a family walking the streets of downtown in the middle of the night and not feeling like they are on the verge of being murdered. Between Austin, San Antonio, and all the smaller towns in that area, you can find a job doing anything. For someone just starting out, HEB grocery stores and Bill Miller restraunts are great employers and great local companies. You can continue your education at a myriad of public and private institutions. San Antonio Community College and Austin Community College are cheap and will allow you to transfer to the bigger schools. UTSA, UT-Austin, and Southwest Texas are some of the public universities in the area and they are good schools and with the exception of UT-Austin, cheap and easy to get into. In San Antonio, you can drive 4 hours and spend a weekend at the beach, or drive a day to NM and spend a week skiing in the winter. The cultural scene in central Texas is saturated with diversity and events, and the political scene is at least not in a state of revolution. If you decide to stay long term, land in the country is cheap, the public schools are great places for your kids to get an education, and there is no state income tax. With 2 grand in your pocket, you can move to Central Texas and find a place and a job within a month.

Texas is a excellent choice ... I would suggest Houston, which has a mecca of everything to offer. You can surf the web on Houston. Sure it is large, but there are burbs there, to get away from all the hustle and bustle. Great night life all around Houston... great parks. Fantastic colleges in case you want to further your career at some point. Anyone can find a job in Houston, usually retail or fast food for a while until you get find what you want. Plus side, nice apartments can be had, for a cheaper cost.

I lived in Dallas for 2 years and really enjoyed it. The worst weather is in January when the ice storms hit, but by March I am in the pool swimming (or was). From what I have heard, Texas has more jobs than any other state right now too. I also enjoyed the people in Texas. Very friendly.

Best place to live in Florida? -

I ve wanted to move to Florida my entire life. I finally have an opportunity but I am not sure which part of Florida to move to. My plan is to attend college down there and either live on campus or in an apartment. I d prefer to live in my own apartment.I want an affordable and safe place to live. I am 21 years old and will be moving alone.I know the cheapest places are Daytona Beach, Palm Coast and Orlando but the crime there is insane.I was thinking Tampa, Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale?

Look for a city in the central portion of the east coast of Florida.

Fort Lauderdale is close to Miami(30 minutes). Plus it has an airport nearby, You also have MIA international airport at Miami which is nice for travel.

jacksonville

I would look at the Gulf Coast

I d pick the Tampa Bay area myself.

What are some fun things to do when living in Oahu? -

Ok so I moved to Oahu to live with my fiance in August and of course it was great to be in Hawaii and live here at first. I mean it is kind of a dream come true right? Well it is December now and it sucks here. There is nothing to do, no way to meet cool people, just nothing. Anyone know how to solve this problem? It is making me resentful of my totally perfect fiance because he is the ONLY reason I am here, which is making me so sad. I know people will probably think, what the hell, why are you complaining about living in Hawaii? But seriously it is just a place to live...Any advice? Thanks :)

I can relate to you. I was born and raised on Oahu and after a while, it just seemed like there I did everything there was to do. But the island is always full of adventure. I like to go hiking up Maunawili, at the end of the hike there is a waterfall, you can swim there and even jump off the rocks. Waimea is also a favorite, just a pretty chill beach. If you re in to ghosts and whatever, there is a place called Morgans Corner. Google it, I would never go but I ve heard of some pretty scary stories. I guess you either have to have lived on Oahu your whole life to know everything there is to do... since some stuff only locals know about, but after a while Oahu isn t that bad. I NEVER get tired of going to the beach everyday....and when you compare it to the mainland... nothing measures up to living on an island.

Are you kidding? Nothing to do? No way to meet cool people? You are out of your mind. There s tons to do you clearly have just not made the effort to research the state and city in which you find yourself. To name just two events, last night was First Friday (first Friday of ever month), tons of people going to all kinds of restaurants, bars and art galleries in downtown Honolulu and few select bars in Chinatown. Then there s Last Friday which is obviously the last Friday of every month at the Honolulu Art Gallery, different themes each time.

There are so many fun things to do in Oahu. You could go to the lagoons....waimea falls....try the jump rock. One of the best is to go to the polynesian center, it is great for cultual expiriences. Obviously there are the beaches, great weather. How about going to new resturants or trying a new flavor of shave ice? :)

I have to agree with the others- if you think there is nothing to do here, then you just aren t looking. But I guess you are looking... here on YA. Every Friday the Honolulu Advertiser has an insert that is full of activities for the coming week. The first Friday, it covers activities for the month ahead. Almost anything you might be interested in will be represented there. Photography classes, hikes, shows. There is always something going on. It sounds to me like you are homesick, you haven t really been able to integrate into your new community yet, you are relying on your fiance to meet all of your needs. You need to put some energy into finding out what is out there in the community get involved in some activities.

What are some things to do in Colorado (Denver/Golden Area) this upcoming weekend? -

I m flying home this weekend to visit my father for his birthday. He s lived in Golden for the last 20 years, so we ve done a majority of the touristy things. I was wondering if anybody knows of anything going on this weekend (December 4th, 5th or 6th). I looked, and the Nuggets are going to be out of town... too bad.

There s the parade of lights, there s Belmar skating area in Lakewood, I m sure you could catch a play at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, Zoo Lights won t yet be open but Denver Botanic Gardens Blossoms of Light will be (and I like that one more anyway.) You could hit Estes Park or 16th St Mall etc. for shopping. You could go skiing or snowshoeing. Larimer Square is all lit up so dinner down there might be cool. Saturday is the free day at the Denver Art Museum.

The best way to find events in Colorado on any day is to search here http://www.core-media.org/content/view/4

parade of lights: friday at 8 and sat at 6

Does anyone know why sage is all sold out everywhere in Austin? -

ive been to several different stores, and i can t find ANY sage! why is this? is there a sage shortage or a boycott or something? or did everyone just go and stock up their pantries with it for thanksgiving and bought out the stores?

There is no shortage or boycott; it is just a popular Thanksgiving herb for the turkey, the gravy, the dressing/stuffing, etc. I am sorry you couldn t find any, but all stores should be restocked next week.I hope this helps; good luck!

What is the best way to find people to apartment hunt with in LA? -

I don t want to move into an already-inhabited apartment- I would like to find someone who is looking for the same thing in a 2 bdrm that I am, and look for a new apartment with them. I already know of Craigslist and Roommates.com, but is there another resource that facilitates this? I just like the idea of starting fresh in an empty apartment, but I don t personally know anyone who is looking to move right now.

You just named the best two sources. You might try your Facebook or Myspace network to see if any friends of friends happen to be interested.

u can also try Loqqad, unique easiest way for that, keep on loqqing if not added any yet,http://www.loqqad.com

When Miamirsquo;s present court house opened what was it known for? -

I know it was called the tallest building South of Baltimore and it was Miami-Dade county s first high-rise, but is there anything else?

It was considered escape-proof because the inmates were jailed on the highest floors of the old courthouse. A few escaped anyway.

Where is a nice place to stay in WV that has a jacuzzi or hot tub? not more than 2 hrs from Charleston? -

I will celebrate my 22 nd wedding anniversary in Dec want to surprise my husband. It cant cost over $150.00 for a weekend. Thanks!!!!

Renting a house or a condo in WV would be a great idea to surprise your husband. There are a lot of choices for rentals in your area. It s best to do your homework and use online research to find available places to stay that fit within your budget.Rather than give you a specific property name and location, I would suggest that you do some research on the available houses/condos, the prices and the locations. I have used justvr.com in the past and it was quite helpful for narrowing down my choices and booking a few nights stay.

The Hampton Inn at Southridge in Charleston has rooms like that, but they are expensive. I think they still have a nice full breakfast buffett. Also, they used to have date pakages with dinner and a movie included. Any nice room like that will cost over $100-$150 per night on the weekend. The Chief Logan Park has a nice place 1 hour from Charleston, but it is pricey, too.I would call these http://www.orbitz.com/App/ViewHotelSearc
