Do I have to plan a tour ahead of time or wait in line to get tickets to get a tour inside the white house? -

Tours of the White House are free, however you must request tickets at least 30 days (and up to 6 months) before the day you want to visit. To request tickets, you must contact your US Congressperson. To get the contact information for your congressperson, visit http://www.house.gov/zip/ZIP2Rep.html and put in your zip code.

Ed is correct. It is no longer possible to just show up at the White House and get in line for a tour--that ended after the 9/11 attacks.

Ed is correct.I noticed you have never answered a question yet.You have asked 11 questions, including this one, and have never selected a best answer yet.!!!!How about doing your part!!!!

Can you work for Disney at age 16? -

Can you work for Disney at age 16? Or do you have to be 18? If you can start at 16, what jobs can you do? I m looking to work at Walt Disney World.

The Application Guidelines for Walt Disney World state that most roles require that I be at least 18 years of age .So; it does say most and not all. My suggestion would be to contact Walt Disney World Casting directly: either call or attend one of their job fairs, to get a definite answer. It might be possible to hire on as a seasonal temporary employee (work winter break, spring break, and summer) in some of the positions before you turn 18. However; try to keep in mind that because the job market is so competitive right now, it is difficult for anyone to find a job, so your chances of being hired on prior to being 18 are far less than a few years ago.

Good Luck to you! Report Abuse

My sisters friend started working there when she was 16. She works in Magic Kingdom selling stuffed animals and apparel.

No

No you cannot -

idk sorry but i am looking for the same answers so let me know what u get lol.-thanks

Which downtown L.A. ice skating rink is better? Downtown on Ice or L.A. Kings Holiday Ice? -

Easy. LA Kings Holiday Ice. Nicer area, more to do before and after skating. Best bet: Load up on protein carbs at the Pantry (Steak Eggs with hash browns, or Eggs, bacon/sausage Pancakes- YUM!). Then walk 2 blocks to LA Live for skating.

How can avoid paying toll when going to DFW airport in DAllas Tx? -

I live in Fort worth and take either 183 or 121 but either way I have to pay toll. Is there a way to avoid it ?

If you go into the airport you must pay a toll. When this first started someone sued, saying that since this access road is actually a state highway the airport could not charge a fee to travel through the airport, of course the government won and now you must pay to drop off or pick up anyone at the airport.

If you are actually going to the airport then you will have to pay a toll to get to parking or the terminals. However, if what you want is to cut through the airport property from 183 to 114 then you can drive down the service road right next to the main road that goes into the airport. You get on that road before you get to the toll booth. The road will bypass the terminals.

The toll is not on those roads, the toll is for access to the airport itself and the terminal for pick up/drop off. You cannot avoid it.

Don t slow down :D

How do I get from Denver to Colorado Springs? -

anyone know how to get from Denver to Colorado Springs? I plan to take a trip up there soon and would like to know the best way to get from the air port to an area within a few miles of Garden Of the Gods. I have never taken a plane anywhere in my life, and have never left the state before. Details please details!

There are several buses that go to Colorado Springs leaving from Greyhound terminal, Union Station and the airport in Denver. Many of the bus companies run tour buses to sites in colorado springs. You have to call around and see. In good weather, you can ride a bike out to Garden of the Gods. Me, I have always drove.

Frex busses are the easiest, then you can take local springs busses from there- google the routes and times for both of them. otherwise drive i-25.

If you re going to hang out in the Springs, fly into Colorado Springs airport instead of Denver. It will probably be cheaper

It s just about an hour drive south on I-25 to get to Colorado Springs, very simple.

Front Range Express, the website is pretty easy to follow.http://www.frontrangeexpress.com/

Can you name states that have multiple towns with same name? Example: there are two Brentwoods in CA.? -

There are two towns named Evening Shade in Arkansas.

2010 Warped tour presale tickets? -

How do I get presale tickets for warped tour 2010 in houston, tx and when do they come out

Pre-sales usually take place sometime in late March or early April. Your tickets (if ordered thru the presale) usually arrive a week before your scheduled Warped Tour date.General sales (i.e. Ticketmaster) usually take place sometime a week or a month after the pre-sales.The perks of pre-sales is because of the discounted prices and there s also a Warped Tour compilation CD that comes with every pre-sale ticket.I highly suggest going for the pre-sale. It s worth it - unless something that might bothers you on craving for your Warped Tour fix...if i remembered correctly, MusicToday.com was the provider for pre-sale tickets. I m not sure if they are doing that again for the 2010 edition tour, but keep checking out.

1) the metropolitan, moma, and guggenheim have wonderful works of art and some cool exibits like an egyptian moat, 2) the museum of natural history also has some nice things3)skating at rockafeller center or bryant park4) a ferry ride on the staten island ferry for free, or circleline or the ellis island museum for a guided tour with views of the skyline5)the christmas displays will still be up and those are wonderful to see if you walk along 5th ave6) parks such as central park and union square are great for walking in7)chinatown is good for some accessories and chinese food8) pizza and bagels9) one of the many tourist spots around times square, including broadway shows, a wax museum, and so much more10)and the empire state buildingtheres way more to do as well, but those are just 10 ideas.

New York is a fun, vibrant city for people of all ages. I first started going into the city with my parents when I was a kid. Here s my list of top ten things to do:1) See a Broadway show. There are many current productions that appeal to young teens. For the fun of it, buy your tickets at TKTS in Times Square and save half off that day s shows. 2) Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Take the subway into Brooklyn, get out at the first stop, then walk back into Manhattan. The views are spectacular and there are interesting historical plaques along the way that tell the history of the bridge.3) Eat sidewalk cuisine, including pretzels, from a pushcart on Fifth Avenue.4) Go to the Cloisters, a really cool museum in Fort Tryon Park at the upper end of Manhattan. It is like a cool medieval European monastery.5) Eat a huge slab of cheesecake at the Roxy Deli in Times Square.6) Go to the top of the Empire State Building for a spectacular view of Manhattan and beyond.7) Eat dinner at Carmine s on 42nd Street. The veal scallopini is to die for.8) Go to the Museum of Natural History on Central Park and marvel at the dinosaur bones.9) Ride the Staten Island Ferry over and back. It s free and the views are wonderful.10) Go to the United Nations and tour it. Learn about this important world body and why it is still relevant after more than 60 years. Shop in the UN s cool international gift shops.Other fun things include a horse and buggy ride through Central Park, ice skating at Rockefeller Center, a backstage tour at Radio City Music Hall, afternoon tea at the Plaza Hotel, and the NBC Studios Tour.Above all, have fun!

We just got back from NYC about 3 months ago and I m definitely going back! We were there for 3 days, but I think 5 days should be enough. Get the 3+ day NewYorkPass, it will save you a lot of money! http://www.newyorkpass.com/ Also, buy your NYC T-shirt ( 5 for 10.99) at Times SQ.Around Empire State building, they have a lot of cheap NYc sounviers. Hotel wise, book early. We stayed in Chinatown (Hotel 91) but it s clean and fairly cheap- though you can heard the subway at night, it didn;t bother us. Becareful of big and cheap hotel, I heard it s not clean,, The last thing you want is to bring home some bed bugs.Broadway Show: If Wicked was too expensive ( it was for us), so we went to see Fuerza Bruta , we got a coupon online and pay half price =) so check online! .. Let put it this way, we will never forget this show.. we had a blast!http://www.broadwaybox.com/ ? for cheap shows! Ps. We finally watched Wicked In San Francisco, it was great!

Go on the bus tours, and cruises. They are fun. Try these tours..http://www.newyorksightseeing.comhttp://www.citysightsny.com

Which is more important empire state building or the world trade center? -

pls answer !!!! you ll get 8 points;)

The World Trade Center (which was actually a complex, not just the famous Twin Towers) was world headquarters to the most powerful financial houses in the world, but the Empire State Building was always the sentimental favorite in New York. The building is just so much better looking. Then too, the Empire State Building was where King Kong hung out. No doubt, for a New Yorker, the Empire State Building, The Chrysler Building and the Woolworth Building will always be tops. For many an older New Yorker, the Twin Towers were known as the boxes the buildings came in. We will never forget the sacrifices made by so many that day, but New York has always had important buildings and always will. I am posting an article that tells you about how the city was almost entirely burned to the ground in the 19th century and how it was rebuilt from the humble earth of Staten Island.http://www.associatedcontent.com/article

Well, for one thing, the Empire State Building got hit by a plane in the 1940s and didn t fall down (see link, below), and, for another thing, the Empire State Building was put up in just 13 months, while the construction site at Ground Zero has been a gaping wound in New York City s heart for EIGHT YEARS now, with NO end in sight!!I, personally, think that the Empire State Building wins!

I don t really understand what you are asking! The Empire State Building is a cool looking building, and it s certainly tall (it was the tallest building in the world when it was built) and of course --- it s still here! But the World Trade Center brings up all kinds of sad memories for those of us who live in NYC. I really think this question is in bad taste. It almost sounds like you are making fun of something that was, for New Yorkers, a really tragic event! I personally knew two people who died that day, and I really don t appreciate this, if you are, indeed, making a joke of this event. Maybe if you d been here on that day, you d know better!

Shame on you for asking a stupid question like this. Have you been living in a cave for the last 9 years? The sacrifice of 343 fire fighters , NYPD and others isn t something to question of what building is more important. They died trying to help others in there time of greatest need.

I always liked the Empire State Building better, but the fate of the Twin Towers has made that into possibly the most important building in our history.

Why do people leave LV so fast? -

LV is a rough city? How?Is it the heat or the crime that drives people out of LV?Why do people come there, stay a year and leave? I don t get it, but then, I am from 22 years in humid, godawfulhot Houston.

Over the years, I ve met a few of those move and leavers. Here s what I gathered from some of them. They come and leave because some of them had been here on vacation and enjoyed themselves so much, they want to have that life all the time even if they couldn t afford it and/or had so many problems originally, before they moved here, and then became disillusioned with Las Vegas when moving here didn t solve those problems. Or, they wanted to have the same circumstances as those who they might know who already live here and are quite happy; when in fact, they can t have the same circumstances, like not being qualified for good paying jobs, can t afford to buy a home here, etc.Poor planning, not realistic expectations (Las Vegas is Nirvana and all your problems will be gone once you move here), no money, no research on the area, no good paying job, no family here (and you miss them so much!) and just plain stupidity (in some cases) are what make people move here and then leave.EVERYBODY loves Las Vegas and everyone wants to know what goes on here. Its the ultimate feel good place, but a city and valley with all the problems of any typical big city/population area. Sometimes..it s simply just too big a place for some folks to handle. Most of the in and out movers don t realize these things ..

Some people had been there on vacations. After enjoying themselves so much they decides to go back to their places. Some wish to have that life all the time but it will be very difficult for them to afford it.

I lived there for 4 years i came from Ohio i Truly loved it there didn t hate anything about it well yes i did the way people drive. The reason i left was housing market dropped big time and no jobs not to mention the price of everything.....I miss it soooo much i hope some day i can go back i still call it home.

The heat is one, it s a horrific expensive place to live, and it s just not someplace most people want to live forever. Las Vegas is a party city, sin city. I went there on vacation and a week for me was way too long I was ready to go! I probably wont go back for a long time.

For the same reasons people move to and then leave L.A., New York, Nashville, Miami, Chicago, etc.And yes, even Houston - I guarantee plenty of young people in rural Texas think the grass is greener in Houston or Dallas but don t end up lasting a year.It s not just a Vegas thing.

This web page will explain why that happens so much. The main thing is they love to vacation here and people love that feeling. However that feeling leaves quickly when you have to work and live here. Once you live here you avoid the strip at all costs so it isn t fun anymore. Read the page.

What you think is better for Christmas? -

Vacations in Rome or Chicago?

chicago, because of the snow mixed in w/ the skyline. Heaven on earth!

Romans don t like Americans- too much World War II drama, and won t be very friendly to you. Italians aren t as festive at Christmas like Chicagoans. Its a religious and legal holiday there, and families will have Christmas dinner, but they DO NOT decorate with lights, have Christmas trees or Christmas parties. Chicago at Christmas is beautiful and hospitable and festive! Checkout the 4 story Christmas tree, life sized Nativity and old fashioned market at Daley Plaza- then go 2 blocks North to Macy s department store and look at the storybook decorations on the window and the 2 story Christmas tree INSIDE Macy s in their Walnut Room dining room. There s also free ice skating on State Street. Chicago has Christmas spirit! You will feel like you are in a movie scene, like when Bob Hope is singing Silver Bells in his Santa suit in the movie The Lemon Drop Kid

It would depend on what you re looking for. Chicago, since it s in the US, would have a lot of festivities for Christmas, and would be nice and cold and snowy. Rome on the other hand, would be great weather, but only a few Christmas things about. So, it would depend on what you re looking for - a nice getaway (Rome) or a good Christmas feel vacation (Chicago).

Hong Kong as confirmed by a recent CNN poll that HK is a must-visit. Its a place where East meets West and never sleeps. Its also the only tax free city in Asia. Check www.DiscoverHongKong.com and enjoy!

Rome over Chicago but, staying home is for Christmas, you can t beat that.

Chicago

Chicago! and I dont even like christmas, but I love the atmosphere of xmas time in this great city!

Rome.Don t even think about it.Rome
