Is it me or do people die weekly from car accidents in Orlando? -

I have actually seen dead bodies on the side of the road after a fatal accident. It was a head on collision hit and run. The motorcyclist was hit head on and the guy/girl that hit him just went about their business. 2 weeks earlier, at the spot on that road, 4 out of 5 people in a passenger car died in one car at the same curve. It was in Kissimmee, near Osceola Parkway. Why are there so many fatal accidents in Orlando, FL? They are right in your face, multiple times per week. Why?

Florida is one of the top worse driver states maybe that s why. I use to live there (Kissimmee) and it was insane how many times the road would be closed or delays because of a car accident. One time I saw a dead man who was in a motorcycle that got hit by someone who ran the red light. Sometimes a couple times in a day. I also use to live near New York city and I almost never heard of a car accident only in the outskirts and that was once a week - a few people would get run over here and there. The drivers scored poorly on driving test (making them the worst) but I heard of less accidents compared to Florida. I spent 16 years in the Northeast with out a single accident but the minute I moved to Florida and started dating my boyfriend I realized how bad people drive here. I get scared. I ended up in two accidents. One my boyfriend s fault. I refused to talk to him for a week. Worst Drivers: Florida absolutely has the worst drivers. As I learned many years ago when I lived near Tampa, you take your life into your own hands when you get on the Florida Interstates. Why are drivers so bad there? It s a combination of elderly retirees (who don t know where the accelerator is), college kids visiting during spring break (who don t know where the brake pedal is), and out-of-state tourists (who don t know where they re going). The roads in Florida are a real zoo, especially in the spring.

For the same reason there are weekly fatal accidents in all large cities: Law of probability. The more traffic you have, the more likely there will be accidents, including fatal ones.Alidawn makes a good point. There are many out of state and out of country drivers in FL. They might not be familar with FL driving laws and are typicaly distracted becaue they are focused on site seeing or looking for their destination. My husband is from MI and I refuse to drive when we visit his family. There are many driving laws that are very different from what I am used to.

I m sure it has a lot to do with so many people being there all the time (tourists) and those people trying to figure out where they re going, thus paying less attention to what they re doing. However, my dad lives in Florida, and he says that people all over the state are just really bad drivers. I drive some when I visit down there and he told me you NEVER go right away on a green light, you wait for a few seconds, because even after the light turns red there are always another few cars that speed through anyway.

Emmigrating to the USA? -

My mum her partner [he will soon be fianc as he s going to propose to my mum this visit as he s told me] are very close and have had long talks about whether it s best for us, work, family, and my education to move to the USA, or for him to move here. He lives in Washington, just outside of Frederick in Maryland, and we live in the North East of England. So far we re at the conclusion it s best for me and mum to move there. She s looked extensively into visas and I have also looked and we believe we d need K Visas as David is going to sponsor us and as theyll marry, and I am under 21 and the daughter of the emigrant, I will either file onto her K Visa, or I will go under a K2 Visa. I know there are a lot of forms, but where would I begin if I were to help. David is arriving here next week, so we re going to discuss things and maybe even begin t make trips to embassies etc. He s also contacted an attorney in Frederick who is helping him free as they re friends. I d be attempting to get a job and I am 17, if we re successful, after 9-10 months I will be nearly 18, but still a minor and under 21, so that shouldn t affect me too much ?My mum is 45 and David is 44. My mum s divorced and David is waiting for his ex wife to file divorce. He lives with his adoptive brother in a large house by the Appalachian Mountains. By the time we d applied for a visa and gone through filing and paper work, he d hopefully be able to have a small apartment for us. My mum is being made redundant in March as far as we know [her work is messing about] and David is unemployed but job seeking. I do not atten college or school, I am also looking for a job.The other thing is, we have two pets, one cat and on dog. Our cat will be seven and our dog will be just under 2 years old. We know we need rabies shots for both, but what else would we need?Is that enough info? Thanks

Well I don t know about the visa part, I think you need to ask vets if your pets would be in quarantine for 6 months or not. I am not sure on that. David doesn t have to wait for his wife to file for divorce, he can do that himself. I am concerned as to how he can get a visa for your Mum if he is still married. A divorce in America can take years if children are involved. If the divorce is uncontested, it can still take months to process, depending on how many court cases are being heard in the county they file in. So even if they file an uncontested divorce today, the divorce may not be final for several months. Also, he has to consider that there may be issues, like property and such, that may be contested, and that can draw the case even longer. I think David is putting the cart before the horse. He needs to file for divorce, not wait on his wife to do it, and then when his divorce is final and he has papers to prove that, then he can worry about getting engaged to your Mum. It is very expensive to live in the area you are talking about, and unlikely that an apartment will allow pets in that area also. I think you and your Mum need to try and look up web sites in that area and look for jobs and rental properties and maybe contact some chamber of commerce in the area. We have a web site called usnpl.com and you can click on states and then cities and read newspapers in those areas. The classified ads will list apartments and houses for rent and have a section for jobs also. Do your homework before you uproot yourselves. It sounds like David is full of a lot of promises he can t keep. I think you and your Mum need to be careful here. Your Mum needs to learn the prove it word, so she doesn t get herself into a big mess. Peace be with you.

Do Disney resorts go on sale in January? -

I ve always been told that one of the cheapest times to visit is right after the holidays. I d like to go January 3rd. I see the disney resorts on sale now for people staying through December, but if I book for January, it s full price Is it better to book now and just pay or should I wait for a deal? What are the chances that the resorts will book up before January?

If you book with a good travel agent, they will update your package with the best discounts as they become available. We use DestinationsInFlorida.com for all our Disney travel.January is typically a slow month, so you probably aren t at much risk of losing out, although any deals or promotions Disney has will book quickly, so if you want the best deal, I would book with a good travel agent, now and then make sure they update your package with the new discounts when they become available. Disney has a very forgiving cancellation policy, so you should be OK.That is one of the best times of the year to visit Disney World -- least crowded, good weather, and lowest rates.

Value season rates start Jan 3 and continue all through Jan except for Jan 15-17 since is federal holiday weekend. They are also running a pay for 4 stay for 7 (pay for 5 stay for 7 at the value resorts) special on packages.

How old do you have to be? -

To get hotel room by your self? I mean like without your parents?well Im 17 and I wanna get a hotel room for one night for just me and my boyfriend. My boyfriend is 19 and has an ID.We live in Texas.

You MAY be able to find a seedy hotel that will let a 19 check out a room but... ew... but yes some motels will let a 19 year old... call around all your local motels... why don t you just ask your parents you sneaky little child :P

It s going to be slim picking unfortunately. Most hotels will not rent to anyone under 21. The best way to do this is to reserve and pay for the room ahead of time with a credit card. Go through Hotwire - is one way to do it. Then when you check in all you have to do is show the credit card because the room is already paid for. This has worked several times for my son, who is 19. He was doing it with his friends on a graduation trip. Here s website: http://www.hotwire.com/

Sure, go for it. People think I m 22 when I m only 17, one of the lunch ladies at my school said so. He also said I should sell beer to freshmen. That probably because I have a beard and look like Jesus.
