Where is the best snow tubing in oregon? Ive tubed Mt. Bachelor, is Bachelor the best of the best? -

Mt. Hood is the best.

Mount Bachelor can be either very very good, or very very bad depending on if it is warm and rainy or not. When it rains, it s icy and the surface can be slick or sticky. Sometimes both.An extensive snow tubing area is part of Ski Bowl on Mount Hood. http://www.skibowl.com/tubing2.htm It is the snow resort closest to Portland, inexpensive, has decent vertical, and it is open the most hours even most nights until 11 pm. There are days when it is better than Bachelor, and other days when it is worse.

Bachelor is for out of state geekshttp://www.cooperspur.com/skiing_tubing.

I have neverr been there,But heard it is the best.

New York City apartment question? -

Okay, so this is the first year I have rented an apartment in the city, and my last. The only thing is, is that my lease is until the end of June, and I want to go and take a trip by at least the beginning of June. My rent is expensive, so I don t want to lose a whole month. Also my apartment is furnished, and I don t particularly want any of the furniture I have now (its all second hand stuff), and would prefer just to leave it.My question, what is the most practical thing for me today do come May? Should I post something on Craig s list where I advertise a furnished apartment with a 13 month lease (where they would just sublet from me and then take over my lease come the end of June), so I don t have to deal with my furniture? I should I try to get someone to sublet it for a month and have them ditch the furniture after? I think about this all the time and am so stressed about how I am going to get out of here to take a trip, but not lose a whole month worth of rent doing it. Anybody with any kind of NYC apt experience have any advice?

Sure,Check your lease and make sure you are allowed to sublet. If so, post an ad on Craigslist advertising the place for a one month sublet. It shouldn t be a problem finding someone. Try subletting it for the price of rent for the month plus a one month security (for if they trash the place). With the furniture, you may offer it to whoever is going to sublet the place. You could always leave it there, but then you d more than likely not get your deposit back. Or, start selling the stuff on Craigslist now.Another option: At the end of the month, put up a Craigslist ad for free furniture. People will come by and take it all, I m sure.I ve sublet my place before while going on trips. It saves you a ton of money.Good luck!

I need to find a bus ticket from florida to upstate new york? -

the only company i know about is greyhound.. any other ones, just so i can compare prices?

Try Trailways, but they are owned by Greyhound now. You might look at Amtrak and compare a train ticket as well. See if Price line or someone does bus fares. I am not sure though.

Visiting new york city with a car? -

I am planning to visit new york city in about 2 weeks. I will be driving in so I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for hotels with cars. I know that nyc isn t the best for parking anyways. I will be planning to go out at nights as well so I was hoping to stay within the city or close enough that I can use public transportation to get around.Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Most hotels can arrange for parking, but the cost is high. A friend who is in NY this week was quoted $48 per day.You are correct that you won t need a car to get around while you are there. You didn t say where you are coming from, but a practical and less expensive option would be to leave your car at a suburban commuter rail station. A lot of people around here (upstate NY) drive to Poughkeepsie and then take MetroNorth into the city. The daily parking rate at the Poughkeepsie station is about $12. I suspect that you could work a similar deal at one of the stations service New Jersey Transit.

May I recommend the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor, which is located in Weekhawken, NJ. The on-site parking lot at the hotel, as well as access to both ferries service to NYC.There is also a light rail station with walking distance to the hotel. The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will take your from Lincoln Harbor south to Hoboken, where a connection to the PATH Train can be made. I hope this infomration is very helpful.Good luck and happy holidaysNative New Yorker

leave the car at home and either fly, take public transportation, or hire a car service to drive you in when you arrive and back home when you leave. Leaving a car overnight, even at your hotel will run you anywhere from $50-$80 PER DAY when left overnight! That much will pay for a car service from PA, NJ, CT. Plus trying to get into and out of the city as you get closer to Christmas is going to be a disaster. Street closures, Gridlock alert days, bad weather, etc. just make this a real bad idea.

Keep the car at home since parking in New York City can easily cost more than your stay. If by evening, you mean going out for a few drinks or dinner and returning home before midnight, you may want to look into hotels in the Long Island City area since you will be able to get there from midtown within a half hour or so. Do not chose this option for late-night bar hopping because the area around there is somewhat desolate and trains run very slowly from midnight on. Check Expedia for a list of these, search under Long Island City. -Here is a guide to public transportation in New York:http://www.associatedcontent.com/article

I drove to NYC this summer. I would recommend that you make sure that your hotel has parking. Park your car and just leave it there until you leave. It will cost you $40-50 per day to park, this is the average price almost anywhere in Manhattan. You will be able to walk to most places that you want to see, also the subway is cheap and very easy to use.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Garage parking in NYC is INSANELY expensive, and street parking is non-existant. Just use the subways, you can buy a 24-hour unlimited pass for like $7, and that ll take you wherever you want to go.

Fly do not drive (Im from NYC Orig) Everything is so close and taxis are so cheap. Site see and don t drive, your car or rental could be someones new home. NYC is way to congested to drive. Use a taxi, subway or walk.

plan to spend about 30 dollars a day on parking you can get anywhere in the city with public transport

That all depends on your budget, where you will be staying in NYC (Manhatten is much more expensive then in the other boroughs). Many parts of Queens are safe (Such as Whitestone, Howard Beach, Jamaica Estates), though that last one is directly connected to the hood pretty much (Might want to stay away from Jamaica Estates if you plan to travel the neighborhood you are staying in, it is a small area of safe haven, lol). Just outside of Queens is Long Island, which by car from the city is very short, and L.I. has MANY good neighborhoods you can park your car on the street with the engine running and the doors unlocked without fear, but everything from L.I. needs to be driven to in order to get there, walking isn t much of the option out there. Also, Staten Island has a few good places left, but again suffers from no walking to/from your hotel to decent businesses, attactions, etc. you will always be driving to them, paying for parking, unless you take mass transit such as the trains and bus (Which are actually quite safe to ride on as opposed to popular opinion). As far as Brooklyn and the Bronx, most of it is next to uninhabitable if you are from what you make it seem to be a very rural town potentially, as most of it is extremely urban (I don t mean that racially so don t even try it, Hamilton Beach is a perfect example of the white ghetto in Queens, Astoria is another bad area that is predominantly white as well). What I mean by urban is that it is traveled by very urban people who come from all walks of life, some rich, some poor. If you plan to park, most hotels have parking available, just finding the safest neighborhood within your budget is the key. Find out how much you are willing to spend on the hotel, and that pretty much determines where you are going to park.

DEFINITELY STAY IN HOTEL PENNSYLVANIA! The hotel is located right across the street from Penn Station/ Madison Square Garden which is also very close to Times Square.
