Are the roads, in-ways safe to venture out by car after dark in new jersey right now?Im pregnant so wondering? -

Its not urgent for us to go to this place but I want to know if its totally safe to go now as I am worried about skidding and black ice

Drive with extreme caution.Temperature will dip down into the teens tonight-areas of ice possible on untreated surfaces. If you drive across bridges or overpasses - exercise due caution. They re more susceptible to ice forming, as are secondary roads with untreated surfaces.Good luck

Its safe, however, I would recommend taking it easy while driving.Good luck

If you could only pic 1 thing to do/see in NYC...what would it be? -

I m going to NYC and there is just so much stuff to see and not enough time. So I need your help deciding where to go.thanks!

Well, since I don t know what you like or dislike I would say take a half day and go see the Statue of Liberty. If you feel like it also go to Ellis Island but since time is a factor you can skip it.

Museum of Natural History would do for me.

Where should we relocate? -

My mom and I want to move to another city. We like the warm temperature not humid or super HOT! We would like a city in the U.S with lots to do, but low crime. Cities with great schools(high school), we dislike harsh winters, a little snow is fine, but blizzards..no thanks. We live somewhere with harsh winters right now. A city with also good public transportation, and a major airport. We were thing of:Houston( everyone tells us its really nice, but we also have heard the humidity is awful! is it that bad, is it something we cant get use to, same with phoenix?? )Charlotte,NC ( is there lots to do there, how are the schools? would anyone recommend moving there? we have been there and it was pretty nice, but we also need opinions, and opinions do count)We were thinking of place in Virginia or Maryland but dont really know the cities there that well, any suggestions? How about Baton Rouge?

Charlotte is really nice to move to, but they have a little job issue right now.Your best bet employment-wise would be Raleigh if you want to live in North Carolina. Raleigh has the same climate as Charlotte. Winters aren t too harsh but we get a little snow each winter. Blizzards are rare here. Both Crime Pollution is low compared to most cities, great education system here, Lots of nice people(few snobs), Summers can get pretty hot but they aren t like Orlando hot or Houston hot. Richmond would be best in Virginia it s the Raleigh counterpart.Baltimore and Washington have lots of jobs but it s expensive, snobby residents, lots of traffic crime.Baton Rouge would be best in Louisiana. Like Raleigh it s the state capital, it is booming with employment and nice people living there.

Christmas in the Park? -

Has anyone been to the San Jose Holiday Parade before? I never went, but it seems fun. I have some high school friends that volunteer set up Christmas in the Park and volunteer with the San Jose Holiday Parade. I won t be able to go tomorrow. I might want to consider going maybe in the future. Where is Christmas in the Park located in downtown San Jose? When s the best time to go (Christmas in the Park)? Where s the center area of the Holiday Parade located (it s where they have the SJ Parade logo on the ground/ where the performers dance and sing)? Are there seats available or Do I have to bring a chair with me? How early should I arrive for the parade?

I ve been to the parade several times. The route starts on Santa Clara St at Hwy 87, continues down, and turns right on Market St and goes in front of Plaza de Cesar Chavez. The park is full of Christmas displays. The network TV area is in front of the park at the end of the route, near the Tech Museum. That is where the main performances are, but most of the groups also perform in front the other announcing stands earlier in the parade. I don t really remember bleachers. On Market St, they have barricade fences and I remember it being standing room only behind the barricades. On Santa Clara St., it s not as crowded, so there s space for lawn chairs if you show up early. I d say you can get a decent spot if you show up an hour or so early, just remember to factor in extra time for traffic and parking.

I enjoyed the parade this past weekend with the family. You can get to Christmas in the Park on light rail. Just exit at the convention center and walk over.

christmas in the park is right where the camera 12 downtown movies are :)

no thanks im alright for the moment.

Does anyone know what the chances are for snow around atlanta Georgia for 2009? -

My daughter told me recently that she heard on the news it will be a particularly cold and rough winter. But who knows? So far, it s been relatively mild and rainy. If it does snow, I suspect it won t be in 2009 (which is almost over!) and, if you ve experienced snow in Atlanta, you know it s generally light, and washes away almost immediately.

It rarely snows in Atlanta and when it does it is generally light and doesn t last more than 1 day. There is actually a very small percent chance of seeing snow flurries this weekend.

According to my experince in GA, snow falls in Feb or March , so i doubt it snow fall in 2009, God knows exactly

100% it snowed in March

Can you go to the Disney Water parks even during the winter? -

is too cold or what???

Yes, you can go to the Disney Water Parks even in the Winter. One is usually closed for refurbishment till the Spring though.Being too hot or cold depends entirely on where you are from. If you are from somewhere, where the high in winter in 30 degrees then yes it is plenty hot in the 70 degree weather to go the water park. But if you are from somewhere, where the average Winter temp is 60 degrees you ll probably thinks it too cold.Hope this helps!!!

Usually one or both parks will be closed for fixing up, but it does get hot or warm there, even in the winter. I wouldn t really count on wanting to go the water parks, but you never know, it s Orlando! It s Magic! You very well could enjoy your day at the water park! Also, Blizzard beach is said to be the best, but it is more of a thrill. If that is what you want than that try there! It is probably going to be closed though. Try Typhoon Lagoon. It is usually open and just as fun!

you can always count on at least one of the water parks being open during the winter. this year typhoon lagoon will be closed from november 1st until january 10th and then it will reopen and blizzard beach will be closed from january 10th until march 21st. the average temps during dec/jan are about 72 but of the temps can range from the low 60 s to the low 80 s. disney keeps all of their pools/water slides heated to a nice and warm 82 degrees so even when it is a bit chilly outside the water is inviting. disney does reserve the right to close the water parks for the day if they feel the temps are too cold or not many guests are there but that doesn t happen very often.

I am going there on 11th december. My research shows that the temperature is OK in the day time, water is heated so I guess it should be fine. I am going to wet and wild as I have to choose between the 4 places and have kept only one day for water works ( typhoon lagoon at disney is closed for repairs ).

Yes they stay open year round. The water is heated and usually the weather stays warm enough to go in. There are a few days out of the year when it gets pretty cold but even then the parks are open.

All year round. One of the water parks gets closed for annual refurbishment but otherwise it s a great time to go in the winter because it s off season.

Disney World is open 365 days a year and it s never too cold. It may get chilly but it s never too cold to enjoy the theme parks.

I do believe they are open all year. I live a little farther south than Orlando so it doesn t get as cold where I m at though

Yes; The Pools are heated and apparently, it s rather nice in the winter!

yep! they have it open during christmas timr. it is so pretty there during christmas time. all the lights and christmas trees and stuff! love it!

Metro Link Lancaster To Arcadia? -

I m Tryna Find Out If There s A Way I Could Take The Metro Link From Lancaster California To Arcadia Or Any Where Close To Their That s Walking Distance, Thanks A Lot

well arcaidia is near el monteyou could take metrolink to el montenote that you will have to change trains in LAor you can take adirect bus to arcarda from LAalso note that your metrolink ticket is vaild on connecting buses so yu wont hjave to pay on the bus

The closest stop to Arcadia is El Monte then Pasadena. Neither is in walking distance. I mean, El Monte is I suppose if you are willing to walk about 4-5 miles. If its a one time deal, you can do that but the El Monte area isn t exactly the safest so walk during the day. The Pasadena stop is a couple miles further but it will be straight shot walking wise. Try looking into bus routes. I m sure there is a Pasadena to Arcadia stop. Worst option, take a taxi. It ll cost you about 10 bucks. Tell him to take the 210 freeway, not streets from the Pasadena stop.

You could take the Antelope Valley Metrolink to Union Station, then take the Metro Gold Line Rail to the end of the line at Sierra Madre Villa. That s close to Arcadia. Then you could take a bus from there to your job, depending where it is.
