Weather, driving, and travel question..Driving through the colorado mountains next week? (I-70)? -

traveling through the colorado region this coming sunday, and need to make it through I-70...whats the status on the road conditions for that time? for the life of me, I cannot find anything. I know there s a little storm going through this friday and saturday, but don t know how big and if there will be road closures. Want it to be a very safe and pleasant drive for my family. :) Any advice is appreciated.

In that area it is really day to day and sometimes hour to hour. You can and should use cotrip.org. It s the DOT site and is the best website for ALL highway conditions in Colorado. Good luck and safe journeys.

See sites below to see that the forecast for the weekend from Denver on over to Grand Junction is for clear weather. See last site for road condition report numbers you may call at that time for current road condition reports.

What do you think about Oregon? -

I m just wondering how people stereotype Oregonians

Didn t know Oregonians had a stereotype. They don t for me, but then I live in British Columbia where we also have loggers, ranchers, old hippies and many of the same stereotypes that Oregon might be considered to have. Beautiful state and can t wait to get back.

I agree with Karen. Though I live in Washington state, I enjoy visiting Oregon.

I would like to move to Hawaii for a year. Any recommendations on how to do that? -

Well, I agree with the other person. Once you get a place (if you can affort to buy it) hold onto it, even if you move away. Why just a year? It s so nice here! Once you come here, you will probably want to stay longer than that. Just save up some money and fly over, find a place and a job..http://www.magical-hawaii.com/

a year? are you stupid? if you buy or rent something in hawaii you don t let it go unless you are sure you never want to come backthey have 50 year mortgages

Most beautiful (or just overall best) place to trail ride in America? -

For a tourist who loves horses and trails but does not own a horse or any equipment where would you suggest? Money is not really a factor just looking for a really great place to take a guided trail-ride anywhere in the US. Thanks!

It really depends upon what kind of scenery you like. I prefer the mountains in the Northwest. Check this out.http://www.redhorsemountain.com/It is a secluded dude ranch in the Idaho Panhandle close to Lake Coeur D Alene. ORhttp://www.ioga.org/trailrides.aspxI have been to Red Horse. It is amazing.

Los Angeles or New York City? -

Hi, I am 15. I want to get prepared for when I graduate High School. Alright, I have a sister that lives in Los Angeles, plus, California is closer to my home state. Though, I don t think I can handle the earthquakes. Sorry, I m just really paranoid, and I heard that California has a lot of bad earthquakes. So that s why I am thinking about moving to New York City also. The only thing is that it is very far away from my home state, and my friend is going to move there, but he is going to live far away from NYC. Also, I have never been in snow before and NYC has a lot of snow during the winter. Then again, when I visited California, I had a lot of stares; and I think some of them were dirty stares also. I don t know anymore. I want to become a screenwriter and a songwriter, I don t know which one is better to persue those careers: LA or NYC

Okay for the whole snow thing... I have never grown up around snow either and I want to move to NYC but idk if I could handle so much cold! People may say the winter isn t so bad but that s coming from people who grew up around snow and cold... to me anything under 50 degree is beyond freezing lol... as for the whole earthquake thing... the last earthquake I ever felt was 2 1/2 years ago and I think in my entire life I have felt about 4... none of which were serious... from what you are saying California seems like the better choice and seems to be what YOU want to do... and that is all that matters... how you feel... just make sure to take into consideration all sorts of aspects of moving away from home!

Go to LA. P.S. NYC winter is not bad.

Tijuana is the place for you.

Snow isn t bad at all! Snow rocks!I believe you should just follow your dreams, and see where that takes you.

Can you help explain why route I want to drive(which is shorter) takes longer then other routes to get where-? -

I m going? I want to drive from Texarkana, TX to Atlanta, GA. Tried both Map Quest and Google Maps to find shortest route there. Both showed one way that s 667 miles long and takes 10 hours and 57 minutes to get to Atlanta. I looked at maps and saw other route that s 43 miles shorter but both sites said it will take 2 hours and 45 minutes longer going this way.How can a route that s 43 miles shorter take 2 hours and 45 minutes longer to where I m going? Google and Map Quest s way takes me through Shreveport, Louisiana, Jackson,Mississippi, Birmingham,Alabama and finally Atlanta. My way goes through Crosset,AR, Columbus,Miss., then Birmingham and Atlanta. If you look mine is shorter so how could it take longer to get to Atlanta this way?

The shorter route may have lower speed limits, more red lights, or just more traffic.
