Was today a record low temperature in Houston? -

Or was it just REAL cold with mix flurries pending on where you were?

Seems like it. It s about time something was normal here.

I guess it depends on where you live since Houston is such a big city, but according to this website: http://www.wunderground.com/US/TX/Housto the record low was 27 degrees in 1897. I bet that since tomorrow morning it s supposed to get down to 29, we might beat that record!

whoever experienced below freezing point in houston must be more than 100 yrs old if not dead

If we go to LA - what all places can be visited in 4 days time? -

If we go to LA - what all places can be visited in 4 days time? Please name the places and how can we go from one palce to another.

In L.A... Ummm... For a nice view of the city go to Griffith Observatory (it s free (even the parking) but you may have trouble finding parking so wear sneakers in case you have to hike up a little... The Grove / Farmer s Market if you want have a chance at seeing celebrities (parking is free at the Farmer s Market area if you validate your parking)Venice Beach is very cool and a trip to visit... definitely see that! Also, Santa Monica Pier... I guess obviously the Walk of Fame for the true tourist experience lol...You can try to book some show tapings if you know when you are going to be there for sure (you have to get tickets ahead of time through the net or through phone), also you can look into some studio tours as wellI mean Los Angeles / Hollywood / Beverly Hills is nice but unless you visit like Rodeo Dr. or something there isn t TOO much to do just wandering around in general...For a very cute Mexican Plaza feel visit Olvera Street (it also has a free tour / museum of L.A. s first house right in the plaza... The Santa Monica 3rd St. Promenade has cute shops and have some cool street performers... especially in the afternoon and on weekends... I have seen a celebrity or two on Sunset Blvd as well...Drive the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) as well :)Theme parks: Universal Studios, Disneyland (In Anaheim), Sea World (in San Diego), L.A. Zoo, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park (both are obviously in San Diego, etc...The Museum of Tolerance is also a nice place to go for an educational experience :)You can choose what you like and map out an appropriate itinerary :)

Buying medical weed in LA? -

im from australia and going to LA in 2 weeks how strict are the rules at the medical weed places cause i wanna go check one out and possibly buy some green. Whats the go how do they work any info would be great.

You ll need a dispensary card or a buddy with one. But no worries, it s not like it s hard to find pot around here, nearly everyone smokes at least occasionally. I wouldn t recommend going up to random people and asking for it but drop hints at bars, clubs etc, don t worry you ll find it (and the good stuff no less)BTW, the above poster has their facts wrong. There has been no proven connection between marijuana smoke and cancer, in fact the opposite is true. Read the following article that interviews a doctor who used to bash marijuana on behalf of the U.S. DEA and set out to prove it caused cancer, when the study completed, he found that there was NO connection between pot and cancer, (smokers who also smoked cigarettes did end up with cancer though, go fig) and had to admit the results. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con

You better have a MMC. The feds are trying to shut places down that sell weed recreationally. If you don t have a card, there s a good chance you ll get busted.

You need to have a medical marijuana card before you can even think about buying medical marijuana. These cards are not cheap neither.A friend of mine went to Venice Beach to get his card at it cost him $150 US!!I really hope they legalize it soon!

you do know that smoking Marijuana (habitual users) , causes more lung cancer and higher incidents of emphysema than smoking cigarettes , dont you?just sayin

Where in Seattle can I go to see a Christmas light neighborhood? -

I live in North Seattle (Mill Creek) and don t mind driving a little. I am looking for a place to drive through and see Christmas light neighborhoods. Thank you so much!

I know this isn t the same day you posted the question but in case you are still looking for somewhere to see lights ...I don t know if they do this every year or not but there was a Christmas lights display in Silver Firs (Everett area) a couple of years ago. I didn t see it but heard about it and supposedly it was amazing Perhaps if it s an annual thing you could check it out since you are close to Everett.Otherwise, if you are willing to venture to Seattle, here is a link I found that might be of help:http://seattle.about.com/od/mapstranspor

Candycane Lane! It is located in the Ravenna neighborhood actually it is very close the University District near U Village. Free, I like to park and actually walk the neighborhood with some hot cocoa.I would also suggest looking up the Christmas Ships schedule and looking at the lights and hear some singing too. Fun experience.

Go to www.komonews.com and look at the weather section for Steve s Parade of Lights . Steve Pool, who is the weather guy, always solicits folks to send in addresses and photos of great light displays in neighborhoods all around the region so you can search that to find some that are close to you.

Most all neighborhoods with big enough houses have lights :DI usually drive around as well.

College in florida!?!!? -

so i plan on going to college in florida and maybe having a car (they are allowed). but i lived in pa and the only time i would be coming home is for christmas but i dont want to drive from fl to pa by myself, i plan on flying. while at college i dont want to rely on others to take me places so thats why i want to bring my car. how could i have a car while @school and take a plan home for christmas any sugestions on what i could do with the car?

You are being a little too hasty at this point -- don t you think? You have to allow just certain circumstances to ensue in context with the events themselves. Once you bed into college, things will come verily so more clearly. The car can be used for living while in Florida. So have it there. As long as you can have a port to safely park and keep it, then there is nothing to be concerned about. After all, it is a car, not a close relative or something. When you wish to slip up there to PA, then the plane is always available, too. As time passes over the course of the school year, you will meet people. Things begin to fall into place. And such anxieties as driving from Florida to Pa will become leisurely to you, for you will see how to pace yourself. It won t feel so daunting as you get in rhythm. For example, there is nothing saying that you cannot begin your drive in the early mornings, leaving out just before or just after the morning rush hour. As you proceed up the east coast, you simply do a layover at some hub or metro area to sleep for the night -- then off you go again the next morning ... You will see how very easy it is. The first time out, simply have someone to drive with you -- they don t have to drive; they can just be there riding shotgun with you. Over time, you will get in synchrony with doing this and as well with yourself.Just before sunset approaches you will simply keep your eyes peeled for a motel or hotel, and then take it. Use the sunrise and sunsets as measures when to take off or pull over and sleep while on the highways. Now, too often people make the mistake that they feel they must do the run all the way up the coast in one fell swoop without stopping. This would be crazy doing if you are not accustomed to distance driving. You have to start slowly and then build up like a jazz musician would do a horn or drum solo. See? Leave doing the distances at first to those who are seasoned at this or to professional drivers, like big-rig drivers: they know what they are doing, see? That will come in time.Having a car while in college can be a boon, a tremendous convenience, and an easy way to corral with people with whom you have grown happy to be around there at school. See?Don t sweat what you would do with your car. So long as there are provisions for parking it somewhere secure, then there is nothing to feel need to micro-manage about. Having the car will afford you independence by having it there. And knowing that you can catch the next plane out of Florida in a moment s notice affords independence, too.Do both!
