Who lives in atlanta?...how is it over there? -

what are the neighborhood nicknames there? is it ghetto

It depends on where you go. It varies from very ghetto to more money than GodNeighborhood nicknamesVirginia Highland: Va-HiEast Atlanta: EAVCabbagetown: C-townDecatur: Di@k hater (large lesbian population)10th Ave in Midtown: Rainbow Row (very gay)Grant Park: The GPKBoulevard from Ponce to Freedom Pkwy: Section 8There are a lot more neighborhoods, but they don t have nicknamesOld Fourth WardCandler ParkInman ParkBuckheadBrookhavenDruid HillsBerkley ParkCastleberry HillPeoplestownBoulevard HeightsBenteen ParkETC.

I live in Atlanta....Its only ghetto in the ghetto parts like anywhere else, but most of the city of Atlanta is not ghetto .Nicknames for the city of Atlanta : ATL, Hotlanta (only people not from Atlanta say that but it needs to stop), The A, The Gate City, A-Town, Mylanta, The Dirty, The Big Peach

In the poor sections it s ghetto but looking at the metro Atlanta area as a whole it is very nice upscale comfortable city to live in.I m sure in the city you live in (and every other city in the world) there are some areas that you could define as ghetto . Atlanta is no different.

New York City .... Heeeellllllllllllllppppppppppp!? -

Im 16 and am to go to New York next summer to live with my cousin and work over there for the summer . I ll be 17 when I going. Do I need a work visa or a holiday visa or what ?

You d most likely need a work visa if you plan on getting a job. Please bear in mind that NY s economy is in the toilet and the likelihood of you finding a job is pretty slim.

Where (exactly) will you be coming from? It just helps to give the most concise answer.

Checking into a hotel? -

im gonna reserve a room in a hotel for anime boston and im not sure how to set it up so that my friend can check us in, since hes over 21 and we re not, im using my mom s credit card.

Yeah it s true the one who s checking in has to pay. You have two options. One you can call and ask if you can pay in cash then that way your friend might be able to check you in., or two you can try motel 6, and other small hotels around. Usually they don t care and they let 18 + check in or even accept cash. Good luck.

Your friend cannot check you in. Only the person who is paying can check you in. You cannotuse your mother s credit card unless she has designated you as an authorized user in which case you would have your own card. Your only option is to bring cash and register under your own name. If you are over 18 you should have little problem although you may have to show proof. Also without a credit card you probably will be asked to post a security in case of room damage.

New York shelter please? -

Im single with no kids and i need a place to stay for a couple of days

i don t know how exactly your using a computer and all that jazz but since you are a gal and the other dude suggested a mens shelter i d go ahead and not do what he said. I reckon your best bet is to ask around a lil bit to people that live in the area stead of online. I m sure you ll find something quicker then you d think. Also if your over 18 you can donate blood to different organations ask around to find some and they pay out 40$ a pop so its an easy way to get some cash if you don t have aids or shoot up good luck to ya

If you are homeless, go to the 30th Street Men s shelter. You should also try a drop-in center--like MainChance near Grand Central or the Open Door near Port Authority on 38th Street.

What is Charleston, South Carolina like? -

In a little over a year I will be living in Charleston. After I graduate from basic training (Navy) I will be going through training for 2 years. This training is in Charleston. I have never lived in a state other than Michigan. So if anyone has any info. it will be greatly appreciated.

I only visited there a couple of days in the spring. I thought it was a lovely city. Very historical. Some great food. Easy to get around town. Friendly people. Enjoy your stay. Explore everything while you have the chance.

Exactly. It s hot and humid in the summer, and I love it. I could live there. When you have time off, visit the great beaches (Folly beach, Kiawah island, etc.) Then check out the old south with a trip to Savannah. Use your leave time to explore the coast. It s the OCEAN man. Nothing better. The only downside is that there is no snow (but also, no bone-chilling cold). I m from the Northeast and I love Charleston. First time I went there was to visit my uncle who was stationed with the Navy there. And Charleston is a true antebellum city. You ll be fine.

It sounds like you re going to Goose Creek. It s not in Charleston proper but up the road a few miles. Here s some links to help:http://www.cityofgoosecreek.com/http://www.charlestoncvb.com/http://www.militaryconnection.com/navybaDo you need someone to pick you up at the airport? Do you have a command sponsor? Do you know your command? I don t want to scare you but, these questions need to be answered as well. I retired in Goose Creek 16 years ago. Naturally things have changed but we do go down every so often to see friends.

It s really hot and humid, I couldn t get used to it.

I live in Merritt Island, Florida.. are there any african american (black) churches around here? -

Why not look in that ANCIENT thing called a phone book. Churches are listed in the yellow pages and while many denominations have African American congregations, AME (African Methodist Episcopal) are almost exclusively black congregations.

not sure
