Is California a safe state to go to college in? -

From earthquakes to wild fires to crazy crime rates, I hear horror stories from friends and family about Cali. I am looking into transferring out there for school and wondering if California is as dangerous as the stories or if this is just a ploy to keep me from moving to the other side of the country. CALIFORNIA RESIDENCE ONLY PLEASE

It s fine! If you re looking at a UC or CalState, consider that the fee is much higher for non-residents, and will be going up even higher soon. Most colleges are in OK neighborhoods, some aren t, but generally it s all fine. You may want to ask about specific colleges.I wouldn t live here if it weren t safe! They re probably just being family and friends, concerned about your well being, but don t really realize it s fine here. And they re worried they d miss you. Good luck!

ok...the LA metro area is HUGE. LA alone is 4 million people. so with that said, being such a large city, there are some bad areas and some very nice areas. most colleges are in good areas. think about it california has more college students than any state. the chances of you being a victim of a crime like rape/robbery/murder is miniscule. every state is dangerous. in face there are a lot more dangerous cities than LA. so my point is, don t let safety be an issue when choosing a college in CA. all of the good schools are in good areas with the acception of USC, and those people are fine...

Don t believe everything you see on TV. Last major quake was in 1994. The wildfires burn the hillsides where only a few people live. And there are MANY areas without high crime rates (see www.lalife.com). Not a ploy, but the networks know that fear and sensationalism sell. Nobody s going to do a news item that says millions of people in SoCal lead happy, uneventful lives.

Yes, it is a relatively safe state to go to college in. It is also an EXTREMELY expensive state to go to college in. The non resident tuition fees you will pay will be roughly 2 1/2 times more than those of residents and illegal aliens. Fees for the U C system will be increasing another 32% next semester. If you have mucho bucks come on out. Please if you come do NOT call our state Cali Most of us (except West of Encino) consider that term insulting in what it implies (Cali is a drug city in South America). We call our state Cal .

LOL, yes, it s perfectly safe. Earthquakes aren t a big deal anymore because most buildings are earthquake-proof, so they are funny more than anything else. Fires can be an issue if you live out in the wilderness. Crime rates... well, crime happens everywhere, and California s crime rate is about the national average.

Ugh! Here we go again.Wild fires happen far away from cities. While we can t control earthquakes, it s not like we feel them everyday neither. The crime rates are in poor cities.Turn off the idiot box please!

It is safe, but tuition and fees are going up drastically each semester as the state continues to have budget issues.

I live in California and I m still alive... California is safe, just watch out for the bullets.

Is it possible to drive from New york to Hawaii? -

no hawaii is a isiland lol you coudl get a ferry and drive on the boat and get yelled at lol so you actully can lol

yes. please follow these steps to make sure you complete your voyage successfully:1: Obtain 400 Ducks (or geese)2: Find 9ft of rope or bungee cord (and times that by 400)3: Attach each duck to your vehicle of choice (assuming you have a small car, if anything larger than a Honda CRV, you will require many more ducks.)4: Now Drive to the edge of the Hawaii (facing away from New york, trust me its all about the ducks)5: Set the ducks free and sit in you car while they lift you up into the air6: The ducks will find the quickest way to New york from your starting point (natural law of the ducks)7: open your doors while your in midair flying across the BLOODY ******* OCEAN AND JUMP THE **** OUT!!! ARE YOU BLOODY RETARDED THERE IS NO DIRECT ROUTE FROM NY TO HAWAII (only by airplane).YOU SEE THAT LARGE BODY OF WATER? OR YOU A ******* BLIND **** THAT NEEDS TO BE SET ON FIRE?!??!!?!??In 20 years this will be possible, too bad you won t be there.

yes, but you need to drive a boat though, because it will be across the ocean

No. It is possible however to have your car shipped by ship from Hawaii to any number of major ports on the west coast of the mainland and then drive from those points east to NYC.

Unfortunatly, it is not possible because hawaii is in the middle of the pacific ocean.

Nothing is impossible.. lol

Underwater tunnel that is your answer.

Yes, just turn left when you reach the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge.

You could try, but I don t think you d get very far. ;)

Depends on what kind of car you have.

2 year old at Universal Studios Florida.? -

I was planning a trip to Disney with a friend and her 2 y/o and 6 y/o as well as my 2 y/o and 9 y/o. However, she had to cancel her plans so now I am going with my 2 y/o and 9 y/o. My 9 y/o wants to go to Universal instead he has not been there in a while however I am concerned since I will be by myself on what my 2 year old can do.I don t want my 9 y/o to miss out however by myself what can the 2 y/o ride?

The 2 yr old can ride ET, Jimmy Neutron, Shrek 4-D and see the shows. There is also Fivel s playland where the 2yr old can play as well Barney and Woody Woodpecker s playzone. There is plenty there to keep both kids happy and entertained for a day.

Okay, your 2 y/o can t do the rides your 9 y/o wants to do. Your older one probably wants to do the Simpsons Ride, MIB, Terminator, Jaws, and the Mummy Ride. Obviously, your 2 y/o can t do these. There are some places for little kids like E.T., Jimmy Neutron, Shrek, a play area, and some shows.Hope this helps!
