What is there to do in Hawaii? -

So me and my fiance is going to Hawaii during Christmas time. What is there to do beside going to the beach?

There are SO many things to do here.Shopping, dancing (there s lots of swing dancing on the big island if youre into dancing) There are shows to see..Also if you re on the big island you can go see the lava flow at night, (very cool sight) or go to the volcanic steam vents.. If you come during christmas you will see snow on top of Mauna Kea - contrasting to the warm tropical weather you are actually experiencing..There s lots of places to shop - especially if you go to Oahu.. But there s better things to do than shop. Going to the beach is a big deal here, but not all the beaches are the same. Big Island has a beautiful Green Sand Beach, as well as black sand beaches.. and I m pretty darn sure Maui has a Red Sand beach.. but i ve never been to that one.You can snorkle, or go out on a boat, maybe rent a kayak. .. You could go see the dolfins.. learn how to surf (it s not that hard)..Although a lot of activities here revolve around the beach.. well, that s what makes hawaii, hawaii! I m sure you will have a wonderful time and find plenty of things to do. Have a great trip!http://www.magical-hawaii.com/index.html

Buy Blue Man Group Las Vegas tickets ahead of time or the day of? -

just wondering if its smarter to buy tickets online with a promotional code before we fly to Vegas or once we re down there, can you find deals?

It s always better to buy show tickets ahead of time if you find discounts online. Buying when you get there will be more expensive and you are taking a chance you might not get the seats you want.http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas

You can probably find a deal at the discount booth on the strip but I would rather not spend my time standing in line and book ahead of time, especially when the online offers are also better then the ones at the discount booths. Here s the best offer I could find which is 40% when you book online:Blue Man Group - 40% Offhttp://www.smartervegas.com/shows/blue_m

I usually try to get them off Ebay or Craigslist for a discount about 2 or 3 days before the show date. People tend to have to cancel plans and sell off the tickets at a discount. Doesn t always work but when it does it saves quite a bit of cash.

Blue man group is rarely sold out, I would go to a tix for tonight Booth on the strip because they are discounted way below internet price and box office price because that is the last chance they have to sell them.

Yes because the performance you want could be sold out

Live in SF, and am trying to find a 3-day vacation spot!? -

I live in downtown SF, and am looking to go to a really beautiful woodland/mountain area for 3 days in January. I would like to have a hostel or small bed breakfast/cottage. I was going to go up to the Redwoods, but unfortunately since I do not drive I have to abide by the greyhound bus schedule, which does not work for that location. (the times do not match to local transit to get to the only hostel there!)Is there any place that I can get to through transit that is similar or comperable to that sort of scene that I could go to? or, any other possible situation that is similar? I just moved here from Ohio, and am not extremely familiar to the area!!!

You can spend three days in South Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area. It is about 4 hours from San Francisco. There are daily connections to the city via Amtrak ($46). Lake Tahoe s ski resorts are world class. Indeed, it hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics. You don t have to actually ski to enjoy the area s natural beauty though. The lake is spectacularly blue, the forests are a verdant green, and the star gazing is top notch. You ll also have access to fishing, skating, gondola rides, and sleighing. There are plenty of casinos in South Lake Tahoe with buffets, shows, and the usual gaming diversions as well. Reno (more casinos) and Virginia City (historic Old West town) are a shuttle ride away. While the ski resorts themselves are expensive, there are plenty of affordable motels and B Bs in town. If you can stand the gaudiness and noise downstairs, the casinos themselves are always a great bargain. You can easily snag a nice, well appointed room in a casino for under $50.http://www.amtrak.com/http://www.bluelaketahoe.com/index.php

I don t know about greyhound. But, Sly Park is beautiful. It is about 1 hour past Sacramento

There is a hostel at Moss Landing off Hwy. 1 right on the coast with a lighthouse. I think it is a hostel where you can pitch in to cook and clean and stay for nothing but Im not sure of that. If you can figure out how to get to Half Moon Bay, there is a small bus that has a regular schedule down Hwy 1 to Santa Cruz. You can also go to Stinson Beach in Marin county. Take the bus from San Francisco to San Rafael transit center, then the bus to Stinson beach. It has a name and runs in West Marin.Maybe you should rent a car then you can go anywhere.

URGENT: ware to move too????? help? -

im 17, i have a younger bro and my ma. were on a fixed income of $950 a month. as of rite now were in valdosta ga, stayen with family. the stress of my 7 and 10 year old cousins is killen my ma. we have a chance to move to upstate ny, but my mom dosent know wat to do. our income is a ssi check i get for the death of my dad( died wen i was nine months, he was ex-militay, a cb in the navy). my mom has rumotoid arthrites and hart disise, but cant claim disiability. wes i graduate highschool in two years, well have no money. so i need a state/city with good gov help thats afordible. as of now my choises r plattsburgh ny, or valdosta ga... witch one should i choose? any other places that like wat i said i need? pls, i need all the info tha youall have to offer!thanx 4 any help u readers can give me.p.s... our rid to ny leaves on next wednessday!

I have concerns about the NY weather and your mom s arthritis. It gets bitterly cold in NY and and cold weather is much harder on your body, than Georgia would be. Plus its on a large lake so it will be damp and cold...in the winter.http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=PlattsYou know about Georgia, so you need to look at Plattsburgh.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlattsburghYou can click on the photo of Downtown and see it larger.See primarily the section called DEMOGRAPHICS. They have a pretty low avg income. NY has raised taxes recently.A plus is .. when you can work, youre close to some major cities there. On this chart, the cost of living in NY is just a bit higher, but not much.http://www.payscale.com/cost-of-living-cI put in an avg minimum wage job. If you were making $7 in GA, you d make $8 in NY tomaintain the same lifestyle. ( for when you get a job someday) The others things are about the same, only you have a high utilities in NY..because of the cold weather. My opinion, I think you and your brother would have a better life ahead of you in NY, but I have reservations about your mom s health there. If she doesnt have to go outside much, then NY would be my pick. Just be certain your living arrangements are solid,as homeless in NY, in the winter, is not the thing you want . More info including avg temperatures ( this is AVG remember...it will get down sub zero ) http://www.northcountrychamber.com/econoYoutube videos ..just for fun about Plattsburghhttp://www.youtube.com/results?search_quMy very best wishes for your future.

Go for New York then
