San Diego, CA to Dallas, TX? -

What is the cheapest way to get to Dallas, TX from San Diego, CA.... and is my only option to fly?

I think flying would be the best...you d probably spend the same amount for a ticket on fuel/food, and it would be easy enough to get a direct flight

Stang says flying. I agree. It s a 20 hour drive and close to 1400 miles. In addition you ll probably want to get a hotel room and get some rest. So between the gas and the room it would be cheaper to fly. There s always Greyhound, but who wants to sit, sleep and pee on a bus for almost 24 hours. Also what if some person who you don t care for has the seat next to you? FLY!

How do I travel if I dont have a lot of money? -

Okay, i ve been DYING to travel and I want to travel to somewhere cool. I m fourteen and i ve never been on an airplane or train and have only traveled through car. I want to change that, but my family is a little tight on money. I want to do something great during the summer. I was planning on flying to California to see Huntington Beach, Los Angles, Hollywood, etc. and then take a train back (and maybe visits some places along the way if the train lets us) so i need to find a way for this to be cheap so my parents might possibly go for it eveb though i ve already talked to them about it. any cheap airlines, hotels, trains and other things like that that might help?!?![ I want to stay for probably about 11 days ]

I Searched on this site and got the Cheapest Hotel,Check it out,it also had Discount Coupon Codes for Expedia,Orbitz,Travelocity,Kayak, Priceline,etc.http://freetravel4ever.blogspot.com

Your only hope is to talk your parents into making this a family trip. At fourteen it s not safe and your parents should know this. If you have family or close friends you could stay with in California it might be OK. If you don t then wait until you are at least 18.

Have your parents go to the auto club and get a couple of brochures on Los Angeles. places to see hotels to stay eating establishments.you do realize, that being under 18 you wont be allowed to stay in a hotel by yourself?

Well thats tough..... you would need to work out a deal with your family to save money to have fun. In the meantime, short city bus trips to places you have never been before near to your house. (: its fun! answer mine?http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?

Maybe you can put money in by helping your neighbors out with washing their cars, babysit their kids, walk their dogs, etc.Sorry to burst your bubble, but at 14 you cannot travel alone let alone rent a hotel room.

Try www.cheapoair.com or www.CheapTickets.com hope you find something good ...:)

try a bus

No problem.............just wait until you are about 18 and out of school and have your own money.

I lived in LA for---35 years..It wouldnt be safe for a 14 yr old to go there on her own.You wouldnt make it a day before you had someone following you, or trying to con you into some wonderful thing...and you d fall into a trap. . You need more streets smarts than you have now at 14.Im quite afraid for you, if you do this. LA is a huge, huge city close to 4 million people, from all over the world. Gangs, drug addicts, vagrants, alcholics. Pimps, Con men. Of course, there are nice people too, but they wont target you. Try somewhere that you ll be safe, until youre older. You need to be 18 to get a hotel room.

Ask your parents to go to Los Angeles for summer vacation do not go alone. My friends and I are planning on going there for our senior trip and I m still afraid being with just them. Anyways either if you go on a train, plane or in a car it s going to cost a lot. Your talking up over 500 dollars for a ticket ect. and if you go on a train it takes a couple of days or so to get there. Especially in a car it will take days and the gas money will be a lot. I m going to los angeles this summer because my boyfriend moved there to live with his dad. I m going alone or I might go with a friend if she is allowed but I know I m going to be afraid and it s not the best idea. I m also 16 but still going that distance without anyone isn t the best idea. I am staying at my boyfriends house and meeting him at a certain drop off spot. Unless you have someone over there or your going with friends I wouldn t suggest you go. You can get lost or worse. If your parents let you go alone then they really don t care.

There are no magic words we can provide to convince your parents. On the contrary, that is a trip that is WAY too dangerous for a 15YO to do alone. We get this question in this forum regularly from selfish kids who get it in their heads that California is some magical place, where the weather is great, everything is pretty and everything is wonderful. In other words, SoCal is a sitcom where theres no trash, dirt, smog, problems, or traffic, and any problem is resolved in 23.5 minutes (allowing for commercial breaks). They just don t think it through. Do you realize that you are asking your parents to drop about $4000? Since you re not working, you don t realize how long it takes to save that kind of money.Nothing is cheap when traveling. So the only thing I could suggest is coming up with about $4000. That should convince them.

How do i plan a bus trip to Atlantic City? From New York City? -

Just go to the port authority in Manhatten by train (I believe the A train goes there), and find a greyhound bus to the trump towers (If you got a players card), and you will pay $35 per person round trip, but you will get a certificate for $25 redeemable cash instantly when you arrive, with NO obligation to play at all (You can cash it in the machine and leave immediately to your destination). If you need to get somewhere specific (Like if you can t get a cab while out there to your destination, or get a ride to it), do the same thing but pay for the cab, it is only costing you $10 to get there in the first place, and the cab thereafter will be inexpensive. And if you are going to gamble, then this pays for itself in itself.PS: Just so you know, you need to be 21 to gamble and even enter a casino in AC, not 18 as is state law for NY, not NJ. Security will quickly kick you out if you are under 21, as all casinos serve alcohol, which means you can not be a part of under NJ law.

There are buses that leave (daily?) from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Additionally, many neighborhoods have local buses that make the trip a few times per week, they usually give you like $20 in chips which basically offsets the cost of your ticket. You can also take the ACES train which leaves from Penn Station, but that only runs on the weekends.

that is easy go to the port authority and get a schedule of bus trips to Atlantic City.http://www.njtransit.com/hp/hp_servlet.shttp://www.ny.com/transportation/port_au

Check out this website http://atlanticcity.nyctourist.com/ to find transport

Travelling to orlando florida feb 2010? -

never been before was wondering what the weather will be like in feb (8th-22nd) and what clothes we are likely to need, tshirts, jumpers, jackets?? help!

See this website:http://www.kingdommagictravel.com/disneyworld/weather.htmLooks like it ll be about 63. No matter what the forecast, travel prepared. T-Shirts should be okay (I m from MI, though, so 63 is hot to me). Before you go the park (or wherever you go) check the forecast online (or just look outside) and dress appropriately.HAVE FUN!

It looks like you have fairly cheaply-priced time -- before college spring break. But you ll likely see lots more crowds in the second half of your holiday. New Yorker families. Plan to see the most popular thing in your first week! Maybe go to a State Park natural area or a history or art museum in your second week. February 2010 -- 15: Presidents Day15-19: Winter School Recess in all of New York State need, t-shirts, jumpers, jackets ...yes. Long pants, of the quick drying style. If you re British, bring a woolly jumper, us Yanks will have sweaters! It s winter, nights will be quite chilly, but well above the freezing point, unlike some days around about the New Year.Yes, that s a good chart to use. Check the extended forecast before leaving.

it is usually 65-75 degrees. At night it gets very cold.

Why does Thorntons (the chocolatier) have a website? -

essay question. cant explain it please help!!!! thank yoooooooooou soo sooooooo much!

Probably because there is a demand for their chocolates...I know I m hooked on their white chocolate truffles!...Its just another way to purchase goods without having to travel to the stores for the consumer and another way for Thorntons to gain extra custom by using the ever popular internet shopping phenomenon!

Maybe your question has the answerYou used Yahoo Answers (the internet) to try get an answer to your question. Why? Because you know lots of people use Yahoo Answers (the internet)So maybe Thorntons have a website cos they know lots of people use the internet, and so they know having a website will mean lots of people will get to hear about Thorntons, which they hope will mean more sales of Thorntons chocolates for them (which is what they re all about - selling chocolates!)

How long does it take to drive from Seattle, Washington to Olympia, Washington? -

In hrs/min please!thanks:)

During the morning and afternoon rush hours - it could be as long as 1.5 to two hours. If traffic flows smoothly, then it is a little over an hour - the problem is that there are two many places for it not to flow smoothly. The biggest trouble spot is still the I-5 - US 16 interchange right by the Tacoma Mall. If there are any problems there or coming up or down the Tacoma Hill by 38th Street, it will be 1.5 hours, at least.

Depends on what part of Seattle you re leaving from, the time of day/traffic, etc.... but generally it s a about 1 hour and 10 minutes, for the 61 mile drive.

usually about an hour or a little longer depending on traffic flow??

Do you need a car to get around if you live in San Francisco? -

Are there a lot of people in San Francisco who choose not to own cars, like in Chicago or New York? What kind of public transportation is there. If I don t have a car, could I at least get around with just a motorcycle? Is it bearable to walk during the winter time?

I, like a lot of other San Franciscans, live quite comfortably without a car. I ve had a car in the past, prefer not to actually.Public transport is abundant. Muni runs trolleys, buses, light rail, and of course cable cars. To get to the suburbs there is BART to East Bay, as well as AC transit and Bay Point Ferries. The South Bay has SMT buses and Caltrain. Marin is served by Golden Gate Transit which uses buses and Ferries.A cycle is a great way to get around, easy to park, You might want to even consider a bike, the city has over 50 miles of bike lanes and many of the buses are equipped with bike racks. You can also take bikes on Caltrain, BART and the ferries if you plan to travel to the East Bay, the South Bay or Marin.Weather here is pretty good year round though Dec-Feb can be wet. SF has a tradition of people who walk to/from work. The city is compact and beautiful so many folks take advantage of that. You can live quite well without a car. If you have a reoccurring need for a car you may want to check into one of the The City s care share programs.

You don t need a car. Parking is very costly in the city, traffic cops are overzealous, streets are narrow, and pedestrians behave as if they own the road.Public transportation in San Francisco isn t quite as easy to use as Chicago or New York though. Service is quite comprehensive, but there are too many companies offering a bewildering array of services. Thus, transfers are time consuming and the different fare structures makes the system far more confusing than it should be. However, San Francisco is still light years ahead of other cities in the American West. And once you get into a daily routine, it gets much easier.- MUNI is the main transit provider within the city proper, operating local bus, light rail, and cable car lines. Within the city center, you are never more than one block away from MUNI. In the outlying neighborhoods, you re never more than two blocks away.- The BART subway system connects Downtown San Francisco with the East Bay communities and both major airports (Oakland and SFO International). BART currently provides service to 43 stations, with two more under construction. - The Caltrain commuter rail system, operated by Amtrak, serves the suburban communities along the San Francisco Peninsula all the way down to San Jose. There are 32 stations in total, including a shared transfer station with BART at Millbrae. - Ferries connects Downtown San Francisco to some East Bay and North Bay communities. These include the cities of Sausalito, Larkspur, Tiburon, Alameda, Oakland, and Vallejo. The boats also provide service to tourist sites such as Angel Island and Alcatraz.

There are plenty of ways to get around San Francisco. There are cable cars, S.F. Muni street cars, and BART for public transportation. You can walk in some areas of San Francisco where there aren t steep hills. You can also ride a motorcycle if you d like. San Francisco has mild weather year-round. I ve visited S.F. many times, including during the winter. It s usually around 60 degrees F in the daytime in January. As long as it doesn t rain, the weather is great. I m going back again in January.

In all truth, I don t think it s necessary. I have a car and it s more of a liability and financial pit here than anything else, especially if you re a young, single person. If I had a family I d definitely hav a car here but otherwise it s really not necessary. Public transit is great, and if you need to move a couch or a dresser, there s always uhaul. A lot of people here join zipcar or city car share and pay $7/hr or whatever to rent a car to get groceries once every week or two.

Winters in SF are nothing like winter in Chicago or NY (no snow in SF). Motorcycles are risky (heavy traffic, lots of accidents). SF is one of the few cities in the US where you can use buses only. OTOH, late at night, a car is much safer and convenient than having to stand at a bus stop. Riding a bus from the Richmond district to downtown SF can take you nearly an hour. It s 15-20 minutes by car. At Y/A, you get the straight scoop, not just the politically correct stuff. You can rent a car by the hour in SF (Zipcars).

All great answers. There is no real winter. It does not even get foggy. It hardly rains. It does not snow. You can walk any time of the year.
