Anyone live in Troy, OH or close to it? -

My fiance and I are getting ready to move there so he can go to Hobart Welding Institute that is in Troy, OH and I was just wondering what the environment there is like? how are the people? rude, polite, loud, quiet? Are there any decent people around our age (21)? Also what about shopping, dining, and jobs? Do you have to travel for a good mall and resturants? If so, where? Thanks so much!!

Excellent! I have been to Hobart a few times for different types of training. Great school and town. The people seemed to be friendly. Clean town a little spread out. About the average town as for shopping and areas to visit. The people I would say are about the same as any small town (you always have the scumbags that can ruin anything, just about any town you go). About 30 minutes to the south on I-75 is Dayton, (great shopping). 30 minutes further south is a brand new outlet shopping mall in Monroe. The job market in Ohio is pretty rough right now but there are jobs out there if you don t mind low wages. He won t be disappointed with the school. It is considered one of the tops in the welding field. I live 1 hour 15 minutes south on I-75 (north edge of Cincinnati). Good luck to you both! Happy Thanksgiving!(32 years welding - certified)

What is the best hotel in the city of Chicago? -

I just want an opinion. I don t need a list of travel sites and hotel phone numbers etc...

The Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons Hotel are at the top of the 4+ star hotels in Chicago. Hotel Sax is also on the list of 3:http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid=nav

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

How do you prevent homesickness? -

i get homesick real easy

Besides the obvious answer of going home, homesickness may be unavoidable. To make it better, take lots of pictures on your trip and lots of reminders of good times. Also find a way to communicate with your loved ones back home. Set a time once or twice a week that you talk to them online or on the phone. For really long distances, I use Skype. I can call any phone from my computer for dirt cheap.

it is not a disease as such but the best thing to do is to keep your mind off it and occupy yourself in something else (dont stop to think obout home sickness )

How to get from Miami to Largo FL (Not Key Largo)? -

Can anyone help me? I have to go from Miami International Airport to Largo FL. How do I get there, how much does it cost and how much time does it take? Thx a lot!

Several airlines offer a direct ride from Miami International to Tampa International, Check with United, American, and Continental Airlines. Then it s a short cab ride to Largo. Takes about 2 hours and cost is around $300.A cheaper option is to take the Super Shuttle from Miami International (ground floor) and ride over to Fort Lauderdale International. Then ride Southwest Airlines (dirt cheap) to Tampa International. Then it s the short cab ride to Largo. Takes about 2 hours and the cost is around $200.Several car rental agencies offer a one-way rental from airport to airport. You could get a car rental at Miami International, drive direct to Largo, and have someone follow you in the rental to Tampa International for drop-off. I know Enterprise offers a one-way rental at a higher fee. Check with the others, like Avis, Hertz, and Budget. I don t know what the charge is for one-way (not including gas), but it might turn out being a good deal. The drive from Miami International to Largo is almost 300 miles and takes around 5 hours, with a couple of $2 tolls along the way. Here s a map...http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m lat=26.8484You can grab a Greyhound Bus from Miami to Clearwater, which is just outside Largo. Call Greyhound at 1-800-231-2222 for the nearest location to Miami International and timetables. Bus fare starts at around $45 and it can take up to 11 hours to get to Clearwater, then it s a short cab ride to Largo..Amtrak runs the Silver Star train from Miami to Tampa. The train does not run frequently. Check into a shuttle ride from the Miami International to the Amtrak terminal in Miami, grab the train to Tampa, then take the cab to Largo. It s a 5 hour ride and probably runs close to $100, with shuttle and cab. Here s the Amtrak website... http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentSer

You can take a plane to Tampa a cab to Largo. Or Greyhound to St. Petersburg or Clearwater then cab. Or drive: I-95 to I-75 West to I-275 across the Skyway to US-19 to Largo. How much it will cost how long it will take depends on how you go. By car I d plan on 5 to 5.5 hours

I live in n.y city and was offered a lob in albany with no family in albany and a baby should i take the job.? -

IMO Albany is a much better place to live and raise a child than NYC.

first - this is not a travel questionsecond - we cannot answer this for you. you need to do what is best for you and your child, and total strangers are not ones to ask.

How much $$(canadian) should I save for a family of 3(including toddler) to go shopping in New York? -

This will be my first trip out of toronto and I am very excited.. I would like to enjoy the shopping moment there.

As much as you can afford but remember to have enough to be able to pay any duty your government may charge on your purchases. Also make sure you know what and how much you can bring back duty free, etc. If you are in the US for just a day you ll be taxed on just about everything.Either that, or pull the tags off everything and say you brought it with you if asked.

If I m not mistaking the US and Canadian dollar are at the same rate right now, so I would recommend save about $2000 to $3000.Good luck

I would recommend at most 2k. But u could bring less.

HOw can I stay in the Cinderella suite in disney world ? -

Please i would love to know ?

the suite was created for the year of a million dreams promotion that kicked off in 2007 and then ran again in 2008. families were chosen at random to spend one night in the suite. even though the promotion is over they still select families at random to spend one night in the suite. you cannot pay to stay in the room the only way you can spend the night is to be chosen.

You have to win the Disney Dreams Giveaway. It is given out in the park to any random visitors and they must stay in the suite the night of the day they win the contest. I wish you could purchase a stay there- wouldn t that be the best place to honeymoon?

you can t pay to stay there. it s by invitation only. The pick a winner each day somewhere in the park

u need to be picked by a disney cast member
