Converting student visa to Tier 1 visa.? -

Hi Can any one tell me about changing the student visa to tier one visa.... is that possible , I have got 5 years of experience in my professional job. is it possible to change the visa while staying in UK.thanks

You may be able to apply for a Tier 1 Post Study Work visa, this can be done inside the U.K. and must be done at least one months before your current visa expires. See whether you ll meet the requirments http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workin .. and how to apply http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workin ..; the visa is valid for two years; a fee of 500 is involved for postal applications, 700 for applications in person.

Can a Thinsulate coat keep me warm in minus temperatures? -

Obviously,I ll have warm clothes underneath, and gloves, scarves, and everything else!I ll be going to New England in late January...I have to go for a student conference...I ve never been there,EVER!So,please guide me!

Yes - Thinsulate is an effective form of insulation. There are two key things to keep in mind. First, dress in layers. When you are outdoors it can be cold (although there are warm days in New England winters). But you will be in transportation situations, and going in/out of buildings that are heated (and sometime overheated), so the ability to shed a layer or two is very helpful.Second, the most critical item of winter clothing is a hat - the majority of body heat loss is through the top of your head!

Sure can if you re dressed in layers. I find it better to dress in thin layers of clothing to keep you really comfortable and if it gets too warm you can remove something.Wear some silk long johns and a silk undershirt to be really warm and dry.(See my more detailed answer to your other question about this)

Does it ever rain in Southern California? -

just wondering...

Seems it never rains in Southern California. Albert Hammond, 1973When I lived there, I noticed the hills would turn green in January and be brown again by the end of May. Also, Southern California invented snowmaking; before that, you had to dash up there right after a good snowfall if you were going to do any skiing. On the other hand, the worst rainstorm I ve ever experienced was in LA. It was storming so bad, I couldn t see where I was driving; I just had to follow the red tail lights ahead of me, and hoped they knew what they were doing. I didn t pull over because I couldn t see the side of the freeway, and was afraid I d hit a wall or another car.So yes, it does rain in Southern California - just not enough to quell the fire storms they get every summer.

Yep, on average about 1 day a month, just not this year---LOL...(I don t know who the guy is who does these averages, it seems like less than that).....and when it rains, it pours, and the ground can t absorb it fast enough, leading to flash floods, mud slides and a concrete river full of crap...(Mother Nature s way of cleaning the homeless out of the river basin)....

Tony Toni Tone is somewhat correct when he said It never rains in California. Very rarely. We only had ONE nasty storm in October and that was it!

Not often but when it does rain, it pours, man it pours Listen to the song.

Southern California gets an average of 10-15 days of rain a year.

it was raining like last month here in Los Angelesand it ll probably rain in January too

Up until the day it rained in October I don t think it had rained here for like 10 months... mainly rains from like October to March for a few days... that s about it...

yes but not often. it rains on average a total of 2 weeks a year.

Does it ever rain? Yeah. But not often.

Not much, and thats bad cause theres a pretty bad drought here

not lately

yes it does but pretty rarely because its in the south
