Planning to move in a year. It will be a transitional from San Francisco. Good for families, low crime rates, affordable housing, near or 10 minutes driving of a mall perferred.Which neighborhood do you live in? Why do you like and why don t you like it?Are there easy accessible transportation such as city buses? What do you do for fun??Thank you!
It really depends on what you are looking for.Do you want a suburban type lifestyle, with cookie cutter houses? If that is what you are looking for then North Natomas, or Roseville or Rocklin is you answer.Do you want a more urban lifestyle? Then midtown Sacramento is you answer. Yep the alphabet streets, there is nothing wrong with that area, especially if your coming from San Francisco.I live in Southwest Natomas, two blocks away from the Sacramento River. It is an apartment complex and there is nothing about it here I do not like. In fact the management is putting on the annual Christmas party tonight. Free food, drink, door prizes, what is there not to like. I live near the junction of I-5 and I-80, downtown is a five minute drive, and a major bus line stops right outside my apartment. I like the fact that there is a 6 high between me and the bus stop, I do have a gate key.Take a day trip and take a look around, Sacramento is not the cow town people make it out to be.
Do you want to be in Sacramento, not Sacramento area? and 10 minutes from the mall...? If so, I would go with the Land Park area. It is nice older affordable homes. Regional Transit, city bus and light rail available. You can do anything you want for fun that is legal. What is your hobby or sport? We have it here. I live in the Sacramento Area, actually Placer County, not in Sacramento. A great little community.
Elk Grove. Little traffic, places to shop, there aren t really any bad neighborhoods or any places with any crimes, and it s a really nice place. I live in Elk Grove. All the other places listed, i ve been to, the only one that is ok is maybe roseville, but there is a TON off traffic there. The nearest mall is probably like 20 minutes away but there building one currently that s maybe a 3 minute drive. But even with it not built there is still tons of fun awesome shopping with out it.The only downside to Elk Grove.... No honestly i really can t think of any reason not to live there.I would say the best is definitely ELK GROVE.
Hello, I moved to Elk Grove (Just south of Sacramento) from San Jose, CA. Anywhere up here is a big difference in what you pay compared to what it costs to live in the Bay Area. However, after being here a few years, I have found that most of Sacramento itself is pretty ghetto and the ghetto people like to come to Elk Grove to commit their crimes when they get bored. Unfortunately my husband and I do not make enough to upgrade but I would definitely recommend areas such as Roseville, Folsom, and the Southern most parts of Elk Grove.
My husband lived there for a while when he was younger. He said to avoid the alphabet streets. When we drove through there, I could see why.
I d rather be in El Dorado Hills
