Im a young adult from South Florida and moved to New York. I m back in Florida for the holidays and considering moving to Atlanta for half the year or more. Im thinking since in New York, I went for business ventures and networking that maybe it would be cheaper to fly back and forth from Atlanta as a central living location to New York once every other month for a week or 2. When in new york I had roommates to cut the cost and hated (so its out of the question) the experience in addition to the quality of living (digusting look) in comparison to cost. I need to travel around often to pursue my music career by doing shows but cant afford to live in New York permanetly to do this without a full time job to pay for the better living which cause a conflict since my goal in new york isnt to become domesticated there but to build my career. So this is why Im considering making my location in Atlanta for a piece of mind, more bang for my buck in living and the flexibility to still travel by flying back and forth every month in a half for a week or two.Any advice?
well the good news is that atlanta and ny are both major airport hubs so you might be able to find really cheap tickets--i ve flown on jetblue from boston to buffalo for as cheap as $49 one way once so you might be able to find similar deals---try this trick, look up random dates to fly from atlanta to ny just to get an idea of what costs might be like
if you have a job here or close so be it. In NY you get paid a lot, then you do in atlanta because of the cost of living. But you can t see it because you are paying to live there. We have a lot of nice and bad areas here. Try visiting here, and see if you like it first then just moving here. Since you are in the music career atlanta is know for its hip hop, rap, and r b, while L.A is known for pop.
If you need to be near New York, New Jersey still is an affordable option, although prices are skyrocketing there already. You can still find some affordable prices in the area.
