Short Trip to Sanfransisco from wichita KS? -

If i want to go to san fransisco CA from wichita KS, how much would the expenses be?i know i need money for the plane ticket, rental car, food, gas, hotel, and entertainment.but i have no idea how much i need for each. other than the ticket, how much money would i need to bring for each of those categories if i stay a week?

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

What can i do on a rainy day in California!!!1? -

I need some fun ideas to do its a girl day so i need answers!!!

Go to one of the burke williams spas. You can get a basic treatment like a massage or facial for $100 or so...but go early and you can use the spa for free for as long as you want. It s very posh: hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, nice robes, fresh fruit, magazines - it s great to chill out. The men s and women s areas are separate so it s fun to do with girlfriends (less fun as a couple since you ll never see each other). There is one in Santa Monica and one in Pasadena.I personally like the spa facial which includes paraffin dip on the hands, massage of legs arms and neck, plus killer extractions. But no matter what you pick, you will feel pampered and spoiled rotten afterwards!

Movies, movies, movies. It s miserable at Disneyland right now. If you can get up to Big Bear, the skiing s great.--WoE: ROTFLMAO

Same here I live near LA and don;t know what to do but what I do is go on the computer talk on the phone really there s nothing to do .

I d invite you to my house and we can watch the waterfall in the den from my leaky roof, but mom says i shouldn t invite strangers over.

I m enjoying the rain while it s lasting :)I gotta admit WoE, that was pretty funny!

Take a nice walk, enjoy this weather while it lasts!

Question for Americans: Is Nevada really as scorching hot as they say? -

I know Nevada is hot, but is it really blisteringly hot? Is it always sunny there?

End of May - End of Sept = Las Vegas is very HOT. Yes, it s a dry heat . And at 117F a dry heat may only feel like 107F, but have you tried to walk outside for very long when it feels like 107F?End of Nov - Middle of Feb = it is winter. It s not like a Chicago winter but it is chilly. Usually in the 50sF but it can dip very low. This week there is snow in all the outlying areas. Last year, it even snowed on the strip.Oct-Nov March, April, May = pretty perfect weather on the days that the wind gust are not blowing.

Southern Nevada, where Las Vegas is, is desert. There is little in the way of precipitation and the skys in summer are more often than not clear and the sun unimpeded. The air is arid and the sun is bright. If you stand out in the sun in the Summer, it is like standing under a bunch of heat lamps. However, if you step into shade, it does not feel particularly uncomfortable. The reason is the extremely dry air. Your perspiration evaporates instantly. The effect is that you do not feel like you are perspiring at all. The biggest problem is hydration. You do not realize how much moisture you are loosing.I compare this to Orlando Florida in the Summer. It, too, is very hot. But with the extremely high humidity you feel very uncomfortable. This is because you perspiration cannot evaporate. If your perspiration cannot not release your excess body heat through evaporation, you overheat very quickly. No amount of water will help. So, I prefer the Nevada arid desert to the Florida humid swamps. But to answer if Nevada is scorching hot, well, it is desert so yes, it can be. If you adventure out into the desert you had better be prepared and know what you are doing. *

Las Vegas is in the Mojave Desert and in the summer the day time temperatures can reach 115. But people know better to go walking from 2pm to 6pm, the hottest part of the day. Everything has air conditioning. And our spring and fall weather cannot be beat. Winter is iffy because it can go below freezing at night with day time temps generally about 50, but we are having a very cold winter this year with temps in 40 s. Nevada is a two environment state. Vegas is the desert and Reno/Tahoe is the mountains. They have very warm summers but very cold with snow winters. But nothing beats Vegas for fun, vacation and entertainment!

i was in vegas when it was 120, and it is usually 100 - 120 in the summer. no, it is not always sunny.

it gets hot, but low humidity.

gets pretty hot, but its a dry heat

quot;resort under 5 hours from chicagoland areaquot; So does anybody have any reviews of Mt. La Crosse ski resort (WI)? -

I am looking for a ski resort with long runs within 5 hours of the Chicago-Land area. I have been skiing out west (Ski apache, Powderhorn) and found them both enjoyable. Clearly we have nothing in comparison to those but looking for something to keep myself fresh, and to satisfy my craving for skiing. I looked up this resort and it looked pretty decent. If not any other reviews? (i have been to alpine valley, devils head(good), and villa olivia.

i do know

What are good overnight winter camps in South California? -

Co-Ed. And also preferably cheap, for around 14 days. Also that it will have nothing to do with religion and any specific skill. NOTE: for ages up till 16/17.I m 15 years old and wouldn t mind be a counsler either!

Wow, two questions like this in two days.Actually, most camps are designed for kids 8-12, and the majority of them are in the summer. At most camps, 15YO s are Jr Counselors (or CIT s, Counselors in Training). You can find a list of camps in SoCal (there are hundreds) at http://www.acacamps.org. Camp isn t cheap. If you go as a CIT, prepare to work a lot. You don t pay to go (and you don t get paid, either), but you do a lot of work in exchange for staying there.

Unfortunately, most of the reservations for almost any camping area are booked way in advance; sometimes months up to one year !!. You will not find anything for this year, but you can look at www.sbcounty.org for another time

Will my kids be discriminated against in Boston? -

My kids are Caucasian, Asian, Native American Indian, Hispanic, Arabian/Persian (East Indian, Israeli, etc.) but although their physical features represent each and every one of their nationalities, they have pale skin w/ slight tan on their arms and face. They have brown freckles, on their face and arms. They all have darker colored hair. We live in Indian, but I grew up in Chicago and I never had any problems with racism. As for Boston, I don t know. My sister says her daughter attends a hispanic/ African American school and is constantly called a white girl. She s a blonde girl. I don t want my kids to go through that. Don t get me wrong, my kids are tough. I didn t raise a bunch of wimps. They are very diverse in their choice of culture. For example, my daughter can dance traditional Indian dances, Ballet, Hip-Hop and Break. (I taught her all) She also listens to classical, cultural, rap/Hip-hop and Rock music. She likes shopping and plays a great center front in soccer. My point is, I don t want my kids to go to school, be themselves and get shut down for it. Or get into fights, my other daughter takes after my mouth, quick come-backs. So what about you guys, If you saw a seemingly, white girl waltz into your school and go out for the schools dance team, and start dancing like was andy from step up 2, what would you say? Would people take it negatively in Boston (the teens at least)?Oh, and I am NOT racist!!! Just here in India, everyone knows my grandmothers family so people don t dis my kids! lol, thank you for your opinions!

You and your kids will be just fine in Boston. Lots of mixed race people in the area. Rap and rock are popular in Boston.

Do your homework, what part of town do you want to live in? Its the people not the city, be aware, Boston is very fast paced, and their lack of patients are sometimes mistaken for rudeness. We just want you to get to the point. The many different cultures, history, and people of Boston will be a very rewarding expereince for your children.

If they treat others the way they themselves wish to be treated then by and large they should be fine. Will they from time to time run into a mean, ignorant kid? Sure, but everyplace has a few mean and ignorant kids, usually raised by mean and ignorant parents.

Its a city, which means its full of diversity, which means tons of different cultures and races live there, which means no they prob wouldn t.

nah man they b aight. boston s just like evrywhere else ya know..if u respect u ll b respected. what part of boston just outta curiosity?
